Thankfully I didn't used it for a long time and when I saw these topics about people getting banned because they had software like that loaded in memory I told to myself "Make sure you never have this loaded in memory when you play DayZ".

You re welcome mate. A few more advices: 1. Sometimes Steam doesn t detect the new version of DayZ, it happened to me with 0.49. Had to stop steam and start it again. If you have weird messages after maintenance it means they pushed a new version. 2. If you do have Cheat Engine or some other app like that make sure you kill it before you start DayZ. People got banned even though they didn t tried to cheat in DayZ. They played another game, used Cheat Engine to add some gold then forgot about it started DayZ and found themselves banned for good. Only way to remove the ban is to create a new steam account and purchase another copy of DayZ. Take care, enjoy DayZ

Wednesday is the server maintenance day. Wait a few more hours. When they push new version on stable it can take longer. Just wait.

Beware, satellite Internet has an awful latency compared to terrestrial Internet, acctualy it can be 20x higher than wired Internet. Make sure you get this info from your provider before you start playing or you may found yourself ragequit because you die without even having a chance to return fire. Right now I have around 50 ms, satellite average is 600ms, this means you will receive game data each half second. You will be an easy prey. Would be nice if Bohemia had a few servers reserved to satellite players only.

Did anyone else noticed that Zs are not making any noise anymore? I haven't played since last thursday and today I played quite a while and had numerous server restarts (I even stopped the application after logging off), but none of the Zs I met were making the usual growl. Fortunately I haven't been hit once but I only managed to detect them because of their footsteps when they were close to me.

Thanks for the info dude, I thought I messed up as hearing footsteps but no growling usually means you have a player on your six only to realize it was one of these morons that lost his fight against infection.

I found one (in trash, the big red warehouse), after 3 weeks if not mistaken (since the Great Wipe), damn, for me it's as precious as a smersh vest, from now I'll call it the smersh can opener.

That's what happens when people rent a server only for their own benefit, kicking out players as they try to connect; once you found all the cool gear, what do you do? Nothing, suicide and start all over on another server and cancel your server subscription, it's useless for you and for the others.

Some say that your items are still in the tent but are invisible. Try drop an item from your inventory into your tent and you should see the items in the tent reappear. At least it's what those who own a tent have discovered.

On persistent servers I really had hard times finding something to eat, not to mention I wasn't the only guy on the server. My first 2 hours were "I'm freezing" "My stomach grumbled violently" "I'm starving". Fuck I loved that, telling myself "Now the little quick PvP bitches are going to have a hard time doing their usual things". At last I felt like "Dude, you gotta move your stinky ass if you wanna survive". Keep it that way. Don't listen to the little whining pussies asking for more guns and more food, it's going to ruin the game. Anyway if you do things by the numbers, not looking for the fu***** Gatling gun right when you spawn, you really have to be a dick to die. Damn I love this game the way it is, maybe still too easy to survive but we have a lot of time to fine tune these.

Problem is that the 12 CoD kids are not mature enough for a survival game. Before you start yelling let me explain: at 12, even if you think you are, you are not emotionally mature, at this age you need everything right now, quick intense emotions, quick reward, quick recognition. That s why the CoD style is so spread across this gamer population. The DayZ survival aspect of things, even more now that they added temperature effects, is boring for this kind of gamers. As DayZ will go further down the road of the survival aspect, more and more of these players will give up because it s just not the thing they want. All those who have teenager of this age at home know what i m talking about, the others just don t know what they re talking about, until they ll eventually have kids, then they realize what i m talking about. Example: "I want the new iphone right now dad", "no it s too expensive", "it s unfair, Jimmy had his yesterday, his parents are cool, it s unfair, i want it now, i m going kill myself because i cannot go to school with an Iphone5, everybody has the 6, everyone will hate me, i hate you". Door slams.

Ok the previous one was really hard. The picture has been taken from the SW to the NE at the crossroads between Sinistok abd Vavilovo. There's another one, much easier, not only do you need to tell me where I am but also if I'm south, west, north, east of the building:

Drinking directly from the well takes too much time, making you an easy target. "Drink all" from 2 canteens brings you from neutral thirst to bright green hydrated, that's why I always keep 2x 100% filled canteens with me. When I find a well, I take cover, drink both canteens and then fill them to the well, all this takes less time than drinking directly at the well in order to reach the bright green hydrated status.

Anything sharp like an axe, machete, knife, bayonet or even a screwdriver(if not mistaken) can open canned food. Eat and drink until you feel stuffed but not beyond or you'll throw up, you must be energized and hydrated, then you can just keep 1 or 2 canned food and you always must have 1 or even better 2 canteens or water bottle with you. It's paramount that you try to keep the energized and hydrated in bright green all the time. It will make a difference between an injury that is lethal and an injury that you can recover from. About the can opener, I gave up a while ago, I looted I don't know how many houses, I have pretty much everything I need but a can opener. If you find one, keep it, otherwise keep a pristine machete in your backpack as it can also be used as a backup melee weapon if your primary melee weapon gets ruined. If you're cold, try to find a down jacket unless you find a Gorka Autumn Jacket, down jackets are ugly and don't have much room for items but it will keep you warm (unless ruined) until you find something better like the Gorka Jacket and Pants. Once you fulfilled the basic needs of temperature, hunger and thirst, you will be ready to look for something else. Depending where you spawn, if you look for guns, ammo or other things like that before the 3 basic needs are satisfied, you'll be dead in no time. Good luck.
