I have done quite some research and read lots and lots of posts, devblogs, reddit, twitter, etc...And I haven't come across how many types, physics impact, or driving simulation. But I have heard from Rocket that the first vehicle that would be implemented would be a bicycle. Then atv, motorcycles, cars, trucks, etc...We'll have to wait until Wednesday to see. I just hope they limit the military vehicles and implement more civilian vehicles. I don't want to see a tank rolling around or a fighter jet flying around. Lol

You have to keep in mind server performance. Lol It's a give and take. I've heard they are putting new animations. But haven't heard about that. I would definitely like to see that! Haha!

Does anyone else have problems, creating improvides backpacks?
Kronons replied to Calixus's topic in Troubleshooting
Incorret. The boar bag is made with the pelt and rope. The deer bag is made with deer pelt and using a knife on it. Lol It works and it's in game. Just look it up and try it. :) -
I think your confusing the 2. Lag and FPS. You say lag, but your title says fps. So which is it truly? Are you going into a town and it's slow or choppy? That's fps. Are you shooting somebody and it doesn't register or a zombie is attacking you but you don't see it? That's lag and dsync. Find out which one it really is then we can help you further. Also just in case it is fps go to this link to fix your FPS issues. Good luck! http://www.dayztv.com/standalone/dayz-performance-guide-crash-fix/

[URGENT HELP] Terrible FPS can't even play without lagg
Kronons replied to yaboyteek's topic in Troubleshooting
I will give you the holy grail of fixing your fps and make the game play wonderfully. My source? I'm playing on my ultrabook Intel i5 processor with an integrated intel hd 4000 graphics card. LOL All you have to do is go to this website and use it as a base line. Then modify the settings to your specific computer through trial and error. Good luck! http://www.dayztv.com/standalone/dayz-performance-guide-crash-fix/ -
I don't think they will ever implement that, but I do believe that once Dayz implements the steam workshop into the game people will have mods to do that. You just have to wait until this game is released and some one develops a mod. Lol xD Rocket stated that increasing the zombie to about 10k zombies is not restrictive to cities. He did say he wanted to put farmer zombies at farms and maybe random hunters in forests and such. No where is truly safe, but instead you look for places that are safer. If you get what I'm trying to say. lol

I'm playing on my Lenovo Ultrabook with an Intel i5 processor with intel hd 4000 and am able to play just fine. LOL But I did tweak mine quite a bit to work with my ultrabook. :) Use this website as a base. http://www.dayztv.com/standalone/dayz-performance-guide-crash-fix/ Mess around with the settings and really test it on your computer. Every computer is different so you have to keep modifying and trying different settings until it works how you want it. Good luck!

Oh if you want to play the standalone then you bought the wrong one! Go on steam and look for Dayz standalone. It should be in the top charts. It's another $30 bucks. But once you buy it and download it. You will be able to play. Pretty easy to setup. Look on the bright side you can play both the mod and standalone. Btw since your posting about the standalone your in the right section. :) Here is the steam link to the Dayz Standalone so you can see it. Good luck! http://store.steampowered.com/app/221100/

Not that I've heard of or read about. I think the trees are as is. They might add more or new trees, but the ones in the game are pretty much permanent.
-
Hey I just wanted to correct you on one point. As of now the crossbow does work, but the bolts are a one time use. You can't go pick them up. The devs did say they are fixing this next patch. So we'll see. I agree with you there should be a balance of pve and pvp. In a way they should kind of play on each other. Rather than one or the other. IMO anyways. :)

I'm guessing you didn't read my post? I'm sure most of the people here never written code or is a developer. When you write code for something you always want to test it thoroughly. Think about it like this. The reason they gave us so much loot is so we can test each individual item under different circumstances. In example what happens when you drink a spite on top of a hill, in a house, in a field, etc...Now multiply that by hundreds even thousands of items. Get the picture? The data you can gather and the more people get loot and use them the more bugs and glitches can be identified and fix or modified properly. Like I stated before it is in early access alpha which is meant for testing not necessarily to cater to everyone's whim. Let me explain. In development there is no priority #1. There is however a priority list with different levels of importance. Zombies is very high on the priority list, but do understand that it's not only Rockets development team working on zombies. They have other development teams across the world working simultaneously on the different parts of zombies. Different teams have different situations and some might finished before others due to difficulty level, etc...They split everything up. No one person does everything. Everyone does there part. I understand your frustration over the zombies as I have had my own share of frustration, but realize that it is alpha and they gave us many warnings on a in-progress game. Be patient and in time it'll be fixed or implemented. :)
-
I agree what your saying, but what the developers reiterate all the time is that the reason they have early access alpha is primarily for testing. To list a few reasons why loot is so abundant: - For testing purposes. - To test the spawn locations of loot. - To test the amount loot spawns and how it effects the server. - To test if the loot is spawned correctly. - For the weapons - To test the impact on the server. - To test new features of different weapons. I hope you realize I used the word "test" quite a bit. What you see now is all for testing purposes and not what you'll see end game. Like many people say it's Alpha. Lol To address the zombies: - Many work in-progress. - Zombie AI - Zombie Spawn/Amount of Spawn (Rocket did say in an interview he wanted 10k zombies on the map) Hopefully we see this feature in the near future. - Zombie Navmesh (Pretty much completed) - Zombie Animations (Work in progress and is one of the reasons zombie clips) The zombie animations you see in-game are place holders. - Net Code (Work in progress) They are optimizing and working to get less dsync and lag. - Server/Client 64-bit versions (Still work in-progress) Once these are out it'll open a lot of possibilities as in large zombie spawns. - Collision Detection (Work in progress) They are still working on the animations and the collision detection system so zombies can detect when they collide with a physical object. Once the zombie issues are addressed and implemented we'll see lots of zombies. Once many of the planned features are implemented it'll be more about survival than it is about pvp. It's only like it is now with the pvp because there isn't anything else to do. And to end I'll quote myself from another post: "It's like that now, but when they start to implement more pve features it'll force people to work together. For instance increased zombies, smarter zombies, base building, vehicles, etc...For now there is KOS, but it'll improve over time. But in my experience I've never ran into KOS. Most people I meet are nice and I help them with food and water and vice versa. Try to go into servers that says pve or doesn't have pvp in the servername. Also if they are broadcasting berizino then get out of the server..." http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/208400-im-tired-of-get-kos-wanting-a-groupindividual-to-play-with/#entry2088732

I'm guessing your trying to play the mod and not the standalone? You have to update to the latest version for the mod. Right click dayz mod -> properties -> beta -> click newest one. Try again and it should work. Now if your trying to play the standalone then your out of luck. You bought the wrong one. Also if you are trying to play on the mod you posted in the wrong section. You need to post in Dayz Mod -> Troubleshoot section. Just a heads up.

Whats the optimal playercount in your opinion?
Kronons replied to c00lface's topic in General Discussion
Just FYI. Rocket has already said they will support up to at least 150 players per server, but server owners are not limited to 150 as they will have the option to go higher. But 150 will be there goal to optimize the server to hold. Lastly I prefer variety. Once public and private shards come out they'll have the power to change it so I'm sure you'll see anywhere from 40 player servers to 150+ player servers. :) -
You should report this to the dev hub and make a ticket post. Have the admins and dev look into it. These kind of bugs are the ones they fix pretty quick. You'll need to provide a lot of info how to reproduce, video, picture, etc...good luck.
-
Rocket already confirmed that dogs will be implemented. So far it's only been indicated that you'll be able to have one and it'll attack. So we'll see if they will or not.

I would like to address some of your points. 1. They did have that in earlier patches, but decided to disable it. That's why now when you eat or drink something it disappears. What happened was when a lot of junk stays on the server, it reduces server performance dramatically. Hopefully when they optimize the servers, net code, 64-bit servers, etc...it'll be possible. But to improve on your number 1 they could potentially add a decay system where certain items decay over time and eventually disappears by there own. 2 & 3. Both are neat feature, which would add to the immersion of the game. But would reduce server performance once again because the server would have keep track of the blood or footprints. Like I stated above once they improve on existing system it could be possible. 4. Rocket has talked about dead bodies. I'll elaborate on what he said. First off he said that he would like the bodies to stay there longer and decay over time. But as of now they don't have the performance yet. Also he said he would like a feature to drag the bodies. It'll definitely reduce server performance for sure. But as of now they are concentrating more on zombies as in increase numbers, fix bugs, etc...Once they get that in and are able to use that as a base line for performance testing then will we see these other good ideas/feature.

Correction to his post. You can only respawn if you go unconscious or you die. But there are ways to commit suicide, for example jump off a high place and fall. Be creative or find a map so you know where you are and where you want to go.
-
No sorry to tell you. What happened to you is purely normal. When you go unconscious. It depends on how you got unconscious. If it wasn't serious then you'll wake back up, and sometimes you die. It really depends.
-
Sorry guys that's all I could think of. Keep searching around and see if you can find a solution. I know everyone says this, but do keep in mind it is Alpha and there could be some issues. What I would do is try to get as much info as you can like error messages, windows event viewer, how to reproduce, etc...Then from there report in on the dev hub, because the mods, admins, and developers look on there and fixes the issues. Good luck.

It would be nice, but the one issue is: "This addon introduces advanced external and internal ballistics to the game. It is entirely client-side and only affects small arms fire from human players." There is a few issues that come into play with this. I'll list some: 1. It's client side. Which right now they are trying to make most things server side. 2. If they did make this client side, they'll have issues with hackers disabling the effects. 3. Using the sophisticated effects like these would definitely cause a lot of performance issues server side. 4. But! Like I stated I believe they will improve on the ballistics and how guns shoot, sway,etc...I do like your ideas. And I am looking forward when they do improve on ballistics. Cheers!
-
Wow that's pretty amazing. Like you said it's a bit sophisticated and high tech for Dayz. But I think they'll implement something to make sniping and shoot harder. But that mod looks awesome.
-
They essentially do the same thing. It's just the algorithm behind each one. Depending on which one you use it uses a different algorithm to smooth the edges. They do the same thing, but the approach is different.
-
It's the dsync with the weapon and zombie interaction. It's a known bug. When you shoot a zombie sometimes it take a while for the zombie to disappear. The zombie is dead from the shot but it takes a while for the animation and the server to catch up and cleanup the zombie. So what happens in the video happens.

I don't know about the hookers and twerking, but I like your idea. I think that if people want vendors and such it should be done how you displayed it. Now that is something I can see in a post apocalyptic world. And not npc vendors and money. Good Idea!
