    RAM usage

    Increasing ram capacity won't increase your FPS significantly. Adding an additional 4 gigs would probably net you a few frames 2-4 fps. What dictates a giant FPS gain is your graphics card. More specifically your GPU and VRAM. The faster the GPU the more FPS you will get. The more VRAM the higher the textures you can render. So in conclusion if you have the money upgrade your ram. Or save the money and get a better graphics card. Side note: Ever since graphics cards VRAM increased significantly a lot of games utilizes the VRAM more so than the RAM. Hope my post helps you out.

    Hands shaking

    First of all why are you attacking my post? It was an open post of what I tried and what worked for me. He asked for opinions to try. Did he not? Where in my post did I say I knew the actual answer? Why do you automatically assume I do not know what I am talking about? I have tested and tried different solutions to see what the problem and potential solution can be. I simply stated what I have tried and what happened in my case. I know for a fact that with a lot of things the only way to fix a bugged character is to either relog or respawn. I.e. when a barrel gets stuck in your hands. I am well aware of broken limbs and no status showing it. As I have stated in my previous post. There is NO status to indicate what the shaking maybe. The OP stated his scope shook vigorously similar to what happened to my friend. So when you say I am confusing weapon sway. Why do you jump to the conclusion that I am? I know what weapon sway is. It happens no matter what you do. But it is worse after running since you are out of breath. It is the added realism to the game. You say using different items is a waste? I call it troubleshooting 101. Yes using a splint and morphine maybe redundant, but have you ever stopped to think that maybe one or the other could also be bugged and not working? Or the character can be bugged and one item may work over the other? I try to cover all bases. If you try one thing and it doesn't work try something else. That is why we tried all possible solutions such as splints, morphine, IV, charcoal tabs, sitting by a fire, etc...Shaking of the gun can be caused by many things such as broken limbs, being cold, or simply being bugged, etc...So no I am not confused. I test bugs methodically and report tickets when needed. So before you attack someones post and assume to know it all with conviction of who I am and my lack of experience with Dayz. I suggest you question yourself why are you attacking someones experience/opinion with out knowing the reason? I will tell you the answer. I missed a word when I typed the post. So chill out I fixed it. It is people like you who drive people away who are trying to contribute. I don't mind being corrected, but to assume things about and treat me and show disrespect. Smh. One thing I wanted to point out that you should know. Of course being hyperthermic and hypothermic does not have the same impacts. And the mechanics are not awkward. It is how it is intended. Because both are different extremes of the spectrum. Being cold and hot are two different conditions. Cured using different methods. And both affects the body differently. Lastly as far as I know you cannot check the ambient temperature. But there is a thermometer to check your characters temperature which we used to test the cause of the shaking. Normal temp is about 36c.

    Interesting. Glad you fixed it. We did the same thing use everything and made fires and it didn't cure him. It was a few hotfixes a while ago so could of been fixed. Or maybe you need to sit at a fire for 30min-1hr to have it go away. 5 trees = 15 logs which is about 30min-1hr? I find it as not working as intended if you are shaking but are not cold, wet or have the status that indicated a character is shaking.

    If you have the hand shaking issue. Used morphine, splint, and IV bag. Along with making sure all your statuses are good. Then you are most likely bugged. Only way we cured it is to die and re-spawn. My friend had the same issue and we tried everything to cure it, but nothing worked. Only thing that worked was to have him re-spawn.

    Getting access to roofs and wall holes

    I'm not sure about the hole thing. But definitely agree with giving us roof access on every building. Whether it is finding a ladder and using it to get on a roof or if there is simple fire escapes. It would open up a new dimension on game play with such access. Possibly even build make shift bridges between buildings. With the new dynamic zombie spawns it will give a new way to avoid zombies. It may come with the barricading and base building in the future. It is not out of the realm of possibility to build a base in a building or on the roof of a building. Lastly I can't wait until we have access to all buildings and all rooms inside buildings. It is an immersion breaker when you walk in and try to open a door and it is just a flat wall with a door on it.

    Status Report - 19 July 2016

    Glad it made sense. More or less that is probably what is happening. I have noticed the vehicles position work for the first server restart. But any server resets after the first one the vehicle disappears.

    New sound engine question

    Question 2 I can't answer. Question 1. The answer is no. As per Hicks interview and the status reports. With the initial implementation of the sound systems. The only affected sound will be weapon sounds. Currently they are reworking about 10 different guns or so.

    Status Report - 19 July 2016

    I think I can help clarify. Basically the issue is not with vehicle persistence. Vehicles will persist through server restarts. What is causing the issue is vehicle location and orientation. It means the last vehicle coordinates are not working as intended. So although the car did persist it is not in the same location and not in the same orientation it was last left off. This is how I interpreted Hicks response when he clarified for me. I am not sure if the latest hotfix patch today is suppose to fixed the issue. But all we can do is test and see if it works. Edit: Latest patch most likely has no fix for vehicles. Just saw this "Small Stable branch update incoming (fix for missing warning/error messages). "

    @Hicks_206 (DayZ) I see the status report says "- Vehicle Position Orientation: In Test" But nothing is stated about vehicle persistence. Does it include vehicle persistence? I have tested 1 off road, 2 buses, and 1 sedan and none have persisted. Is vehicle persistence being worked on or has it been pushed back? Thanks for the great work!

    Veshcula first and foremost why are you so mad? Apparently you are not well versed in game development. You have to understand a lot of games today take anywhere from 5-10 years of development before they are released. Depending on the difficulty it can vary. For example Fallout 4 was released late 2015. But development started back in 2010. Almost 6 years of development before it was released. Even to this day they are still developing DLC and fixing bugs. Now as you said about Dayz Standalone has only been in development for almost 2.5 years as you stated. Which is not very long at all for this type of game or the gaming industry. The reason early access was invented was to first and foremost help fund the project. Secondly to help with development. By having the community involved the developers would not have to guess what the community wants, instead they would know exactly what the community wants due to working with each other. Because they are having to do 2 jobs instead of one it seems the development. But you have to understand the traditional route taken would be to have the development studio be development orientated only and once the game is done. The studio would transition to a service type studio. Because the team of Dayz decided to go the route of early access. They have to do 2 jobs. I hope you gain some sympathy for the work they have to do. Regarding your linear time line for development. As parazight stated is correct. Development work is not linear in big companies like Bohemia. They don't have all the developers working on one feature, bug, etc...They have what you would call dedicated teams. Each team is assigned certain tasks to complete. I.e. engine team, graphics team, sound team, bug team, etc...All the teams are working in unison to develop the game to hit 1.0. Some teams maybe working on features for 0.61 while others are already working on features for 0.81. At this moment we don't know how the road map would look. But I have no doubt they would lump patches together. For example they can go from 0.61 to 0.63 in a few weeks or less because the work has been finished by said teams. Now it has been confirmed by Brain Hicks, Dayz would have a very high chance to hit 1.0 at the end of 2016 or the beginning of 2017. He was confident which says a lot. Now if you do the math that can be 5-8 months of development before we hit 1.0. So in that time frame they would have to hit 39 more revisions to hit 1.0. You may think that is a short amount of time for that many revisions, but keep in mind. The previous patches 0.60 and earlier dealt with rewriting the engine, creating new modules, implementing new core systems, etc...Once the foundation is solid. It is a simple task to add features on top of the core systems. As we get closer to having all of the core components implemented development would pick up and we should see more revisions. A good analogy would be, if you are building a house. The most time taken would be for the design, framework and foundation of the building. After the core tasks are complete a house can be built pretty fast. Such as template walls, easy installation windows, etc...It would not take the workers very long to build and finished the house. The same goes for game development. Once the engine and core components are finished. It would not take the developers very long to implement new features. All in all open your mind and enlighten yourself. A game is not made over night or in a few years. It takes a lot of time. Enjoy the game and if you are not then quit for a while and come back in a few month or a year. Maybe then you can see the bigger picture.

    Computer Crash DayZ SA?

    I think it's your launch options. Go back to the tutorial and check the launch options section. Crashes usually occur when there is an issue with memory. Check to see if you designated too much ram for dayz. If you give dayz all your ram then your os and other programs don't have any. Thus causing you to crash.

    The devs will have to answer those questions. But I do recall they plan to have 100 player servers or even 150. They said that's the max due to having more players than that on the map would decrease the immersion. I also recall them stating a while back that the reason zombie numbers and player numbers are still low is due to the deprecated systems and the old AI. I believe they said once they are able to get the new systems in they'll be able to have stable enough servers to handle the increase zombies and players. If you look into their road map it can be assume we wouldn't get the increases until Q2. Since they are currently working on zombie AI then it would seem a few months from now is when we will see it.     Welcome to Dayz! To answer your question about zombies. They are currently being working on in the experimental branch. The new systems are being tested, debugged, and tweaked. Hopefully soon we will see a new variety of zombies, with a new AI, plus a lot more zombies. In a status report they have reported having 1500 zombies on the map with good performance. We are starting to see the real zombies. As for your walking slow. It could be a hacker, but I honestly think that you probably were messing with your controls and could of accidentally enabled walking in your panic. Once your locked in walking you can only walk until you toggle it off. Don't worry though, they are also currently working on new character controls. As far as we know they are shooting to get to Dayz 1.0 by the end of this year and release the beta in 2016. Hope I answer your questions. Btw I've been playing since Dayz Mod. Owned and coded a Days Mod server too xD

    zombie increase /player increase?

    Be patient. They have tested 100 player servers before. They are currently adding new features. They have gathered data as what to tweak and fix in the netcode and on the server. If you read Eug's posts. He stated that atm they are in a state of transition. Some systems like player spawning and controls are using legacy or deprecated system. While the new ai and physics engine are the new system. Atm they are running close to the client's limitation because it's a 32 bit client. As stated once they are able to move the game into the new systems and remove the deprecated systems, plus roll out the 64 bit clients is probably when we'll see more zombies and players. Do keep in mind they are currently running 64 bit servers. But atm we have 32 bit clients. Eug has stated they have a 64 bit client internally. Be patient and once Dayz get to 1.0 everything should be in place. Cheers.
  16. I'm just curious as the website stated a status report for today. But one has not released. If I remember correctly they said they would for now on release status reports on Wednesday correct? Probably a small mistake on their time line. Lol

    Using Online Map Cheating?

    If you keep up with the status reports. The Dayz team is constantly working on the central economy. Eventually it'll make the map obsolete in the sense of showing were certain loot is. It was said that eventually the loot for each building would be random. Each building would be different classes and spawn different items. Sometimes items would spawn some times it wouldn't. It'll get more complex as development progresses. Now people are able to establish where certain items spawn, but I think eventually it won't be so easy.

    Just a FYI. Lenovo was originally IBM. Now it's a Chinese based company since they bought it from IBM. Lenovo are good computers.

    Just a FYI. Hicks and team has talked about this in the devstream. Once the new renderer is finished is when they will implement different spray colors. They could script some, but it's not worth the effort to do so since they are moving to the new renderer. I hope to see more colors too. And for the light to not bleed through buildings and increase in fps!

    I want to apologize to the DayZ dev's.

    Honestly it's great that you had a change of mind, but you should of done your research and really put yourself in there shoes. So it didn't happen in the first place. What's the saying? Once you say something you can't take it back. Many times do people criticize without thinking what the other person is doing, what there going through, etc... As a coder/programmer it's extensive and tedious work. We are coders/programmers because we enjoy it and we enjoy how the end product bring ease and happiness. Although your post is nice, please do learn from it and do your do diligence before you say things. :)

    I just wanted to state that the op probably didn't watch Dean Rocket at pax. Dean clearly stated that he knows some guns in-game and some soon to be in-game weapons aren't from Chernarus. He said he wanted to put a variety of guns in the game so people can create there own story and use there favorite weapons. He even said he doesn't think it ruins or lessens the immersion of the game it adds to it.

    Just an FYI from the status report.They are working diligently to stop hackers. I for see in the next patch to be a dramatic decrease in hacker activity. One last point, I disagree people are hacking, they are simply cheating. Hacking is for the person who wrote the hack. Lol

    Uh just letting you know. You are probably talking about Dayz Standalone and not the mod. And to let you know in the past status report they have said they have begun work on vehicles. So we may see it sooner or later.
