Wrong. And as a "gun owner and enthusiast" I would expect you to care how clips in this game do not function realistically.

If using an online map of Chernarus is cheating, then dear lord...I wonder what that makes server hopping...

Long Range Scopes can spawn in the metal garages with the big blue doors on either side, too, up in the top little room. I've seen them there. Rarely.

It seems smaller because everybody spawns in an area that's concentrated to the coastal area, and most people die there as well. For many many characters, the sound of the beach is something they'll never stop hearing in an entire playthrough.

I don't think that you should have to travel immensely far to get an Automatic Weapon. I think you should have to travel far to get one with relative safety. AK's should spawn in highly contested areas, so that the promise of high level equipment naturally lures players into the area. Remember when vehicles didn't spawn loot? The way that players moved around the map was drastically different. Loot spawning changes the flow of traffic with players, especially military loot. Svergino and Severograd certainly look more tasty with that new military base in the woods right next door... That's one of the reasons that I was happy to see the return of the Turovo military jailhouse. It returned to the town a real reason for you to venture there, even if you were highly geared. Jeeps and pickup trucks can only get you so far. Of course, the shame about conversations like this is that cowards server hopping for gear basically can negate any improvement or experiment the Devs can make to the spawning of military and high level gear. That's one thing that I LOVE LOVE LOVE about the Experimental servers: No server hoppers, so players are far less geared and are much more organic looking. In Stable games, it seems like every other player I see has just grabbed their favorite loadout from Counter Strike.

Because no.

Good game design. There's a reason.

Just like finding a good deal on a 2011 Mazdaspeed 3, it's there if you know where to look.

No loot respawn on persistent loot server restart
Rags! replied to Threedogs's topic in Troubleshooting
The loot respawn system isn't good enough to justify having persistent only servers. Yet. When it is, it'll be the greatest thing that happened to anything ever. -
The drybags are bugged for me. It floats on the ground behind my character, though it still holds my stuff. I can confirm that Derringer pistols spawn in residential vehicles. The Experimental servers have a BattleEye message that states: Servers are set to restart every 6 hours. Thank the lord. We get to play more than five days before the Exp servers become a barren wasteland. Like North Dakota.

No point in playing experimental. We had our week or so. Now just like always, it's turned into an Ethiopia Simulator. There's nothing to eat. All I find are glowsticks, crowbars, and books.

GIMP is your best friend.

I think it may really be worth it to save up now that Nvidia has their 900 series GPU's out. Having one of the most powerful single GPU's on the market for what they cost...it's something I think you should really consider. Look at the GTX 970 and really take note of how it could perform for you. I know it's out of your budget, but you might want to consider delaying the build so you could really see that massive performance increase.

At first glance, I thought it read "Anal Hub Location Post". Whew.

DayZ has a higher learning curve than the Olympic Pentathlon.

I fucking died.

I actually don't like this idea. I think the penalty of having to drop your second long gun and then have to manually pick it up is a good way to discourage people from carrying around too much weaponry. If weapons automatically swapped back and forth, then in a firefight it would be extremely easy for you to use both a Mosin Nagant and a MP-133 shotgun, with very little swapping time in between them. Choosing a single primary weapon, I think, is part of the charm of the game. Plus, carrying around two weapons is cumbersome, so that should be represented in the game. A Mosin is heavy. Same with a shotgun or an SKS. Walking around with one on your back and another in your hands? Your arms will fall off.

The problem that you can see for yourself is how bus stops and book shelves become miniature versions of the Great Library of Alexandria.

A possible solution for communicating physiological needs
Rags! replied to Roshi (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
Opening up your inventory is far more immersion breaking than having a little text at the bottom of the screen that says "Bitch, I need a corndog." -
Go left. Always go left.

Servers can have custom messages, I think. One time I saw a message that said "I am hungry for tacos." I think this may be a server message playing.

Gas lamps can definitely help to warm you. I'm an Eagle Scout and I spent years with the state's ESAR group. I would say that if this mechanic was added to the game, then it should function at a much less intense level of a fireplace. Huddling next to a gas lamp will definitely warm your hands and extremities.
