If a zombie goes through the wall or a door and you die, then you are clearly standing there and allowing it to kill you. Zombies are not dangerous; they are a nuisance and a player detector. Pro Tip: If you walk out of the room when the zombie comes in the room, it will have a more difficult time hitting you.

It's only a shame that the fifty player private shard servers all seem to be 3PP...I never play in Private shards because of server hoppers ruining the gameplay. But I prefer 1PP...I just can't have everything, I suppose. ...oh, well.

I hate it when I have to stope skinning.

I see a great deal of DayZ related content that got me to thinking...there sure do seem to be a great deal of clans and people who treat DayZ like ARMA. Allow me to explain... So many of these clans are "sniper clans" and such. They so often all seemed to be geared up fully in all their videos, there's very little actual surviving and such that I see with these groups. I won't accuse them of all server hopping or using private servers, but it makes me wonder...what's the point of so many of these clans if they are all taking such an obviously military style approach to playing a survival game? Everybody seems to always have automatic weapons, full camo gear, assault vests, helmets...everything you could ever get. I think this is a detriment to the community in a way. I'm glad that players are banding together and having a social experience, but I simply fear that they are doing this for the wrong "reasons". I used to play with some people, but stopped after I learned that they all server hop for gear and then run back to Elecktro or Cherno to deathmatch all the time. As common as this seems to happen, I wonder how many other clans do the same. Hopefully, as survival is iterated upon and stressed more and more, we'll see less of these fully militarized units moving around the map or camping in cities. I'd like to see more emphasis placed on smaller groups being mobile instead of large immobile squads. Hopefully, persistence will be implemented in a way that encourages scavenging and mobility around the map.

Shadowplay runs errands for me; last Wednesday it replaced my spark plugs. Also, it sucks your dick.

Okay.

Nvidia Shadowplay.

Currently, you do not need pants to be waterproof. Only the jacket and the hat matter. If you are soaked and you put the gear on, your player is still wet, but you will dry out over time and will not get any wetter unless you go swimming or run around in a pond.

To be honest, the whole reloading system needs to have changes made to it in lots of places, most of which I am certain that the Devs know about already. But being able to chamber a round before you insert the magazine is a good suggestion, though I don't think it's going to be a very high priority one. Instead of this, I'd like to see them give different animations to reloading weapons with or without rounds already in the chamber. So if I have a Makarov with a bullet left in the magazine and I want to reload, the animation would be faster since I don't have to pull back the slide and chamber a bullet since there's already one ready to go.

In my opinion this game should focus on melee combat
Rags! replied to Avant-Garde's topic in General Discussion
Using melee weapons should be the highly risky, but highly rewarding as well. Hitting somebody in the ballistic helmeted head with a baseball bat will still really hurt them. A player with a gun should still be very wary of ambushes and sneaky players. Do this by... 1) Making ammunition far less common than it is currently, making players opt for melee combat in certain scenarios for the sake of conserving ammunition 2) Give player characters momentum and weight 3) Have bladed weapons inflict bleeding with reliability, and have blunt weapons have a higher rate of fracturing. 4) Have the lengths of melee weapons determine their arc of swing, and inhibit using such weapons in small spaces -
Longer chance of resuscitation after dying from hypothermia.

I don't think this is a bad idea, so long as it's nothing excessive. -
The only item that has that functionality so far is the Zucchini.

What it looks like is somebody is tryingto run DayZ at their Windows XP work computer.

You'll have to wait for persistence to finally be finalized, where hopefully every place on the map doesn't give either too much or too little loot, and all areas are worth travelling to for scavenging.

I didn't know users were complaining about them.

Thanks for clarifying how many inches are in two feet.

The Mosin with a PU scope is my favorite weapon in this game. As an owner of a 1927 Mosin myself, it just feels sorta "right" to have on in the game. I normally opt for the PU scope over the LRS when I do have a Mosin for the sake of historical accuracy. When sniping because a thinking man's game, I'll start doing it. I don't really ever "snipe" in DayZ, but I'll wander around towns and stay out of sight and line up my shots and just be patient. We talk about sniping all the time, but when I think about it...probably 80% of my player kills are within the range of...oh...maybe 40m?

I would like to point out that you are looking for computer parts based on a game that is in no way optimized and will not be any time soon. The only real way to get really good FPS in this game is to simply overpower it with computer muscle, and that shit'll cost you. I have an i7-4770K and an Nvidia GTX 780 Ti Classified and this game still runs like Hellen Keller on horse tranquilizers.

This thing you have suggested is a good thing.

Well, it doesn't look like there are any apples on that bush down there. Maybe that's just a juniper bush or something.

Translation... There should be sheets in DayZ that you are able to rip up to create rags, or with a sewing kit, craft a bag or split down into threads. The threads can be used to make twine. You can then make rope out of the twine. The twine will then allow you to use it as a substitute for rope; It can be used to make a bow or an improvised backpack. Maybe we could make different kinds of bows, having some of them superior to others based on materials. Some could be made out of ashwood and twine, maybe ashwood and rope, and maybe some out of hazelwood and twine or rope. Arrows with feathers could be crafted, but some could have either metal or flint stone tips for different damage, or simply a sharpened stick could be used as well. We should also be able to make a bowdrill in order to start fires. Threads could have a sewing function that would allow you to combine the thread with sewing kits to make leather threads, an item that will require a leather sewing kit. The bow should be carried on your shoulder like a rifle. --- This free translation has been provided as a complimentary service of the Rags Advisory Grammar System.

Is that "Iam Zani" or "I am Zani"?

A ton of suggestions... (Zombies, Loot, Cars, Food, Non-leathal stuff, and more)

Just say NO to grenade launchers. -
This is why I am glad I have Shadowplay. I'm always recording, and with two button presses I can capture anything that has happened to me.
