Just a little idea that crossed my mind and I'd like the communities input on it. Whiskey flasks would be a residential spawn and they'd work just like canteens except with a smaller capacity. On the flipside, they'd only take up one inventory space. No crazy stuff like protecting you from small caliber rounds if held on your vest ;)

The mod supported squad.xml, how many giant dicks and swastikas did you see painted on the side of UAZ's?

Also would make gas masks relevant for combat instead of just being just for aesthetics

Just one thing guys, remember the squad.xml isn't just for having a fancy logo, it also gives you a unique tag that identifies you as a member of that squad so even if someone copies your name they can't impersonate you.

There were already a bunch of scripts for this in arma. I'm sure the dev team can implement it pretty easily

Another important part of the squad.xml is to prevent impersonating members of clans and squads. People with a squad.xml get a tag next to their name, which distinguishes them from those who might copy their name to attempt impersonating them. We've used this countless times in the past to prevent infiltration in our group.

You could've come up with another acronym to be honest. RP aside, we've been around since the early days of the mod and having two CQF's running around isn't good for any of the groups.

Something like Arma's squad.xml would be nice. You just upload a pic and it gets overlayed over specific spots in clothing and vehicles.

As a squad player, not being able to use the compass to give my mates a bearing is very frustrating. The compass needs some sort of zoom-in function and a higher resolution texture. Basically, make it work like it did in Arma

Well I get where op is coming from even if I don't agree with criticizing other people's play styles. I've been an exclusively friendly/hero/whatever you wanna call it player since the early days of the mod and my group has always worked with a strict ROE that forbids us from KoS. We get our thrills from establishing contact with other survivors and assisting them in anyway possible which is quite challenging when most people will just shoot you on sight. Is it "hard mode"? Most often yes, but it's the majority of people KoS'ing that make it a thrill and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Hey everyone. CQF is still alive and well and we're currently recruiting for Dayz Standalone. We have people on ts playing SA all times of day, come around some time and chill with us

Sorry but our recruitment requirements are stricter now, and we won't make exceptions for anyone under 17 anymore.

Please don't twist my words. I was the one who made the ts3 server announcement and my exact words were "If you have the means to take it down, please try to do so." so all our conscripts with anti-material rifles or light machine-guns engage the chopper on sight.

We are pleased to announce that due to the huge influx of recruits we are starting two new squads. One of those to be led by yours truly. From a dirty, hungry and lonely survivor in the wastes to a Sergeant and Squad Leader in the CQF. Everyone has a chance to prove themselves here.

Also guys we play alot of regular ArmA II and other ArmA II mods so if you bought it for Dayz and want to start playing or learning about it we have a bunch of veteran players willing to help you out.

Yes we would be interested in the names of whoever dc'd, preferably in the form of a screenshot or video. We like to make sure our people play fair but unfortunately everyone who complains about us always fails to produce evidence. That's the only way the CQF NCO's and officers can actually do something about it.

We get bunches of new recruits everyday, sometimes even people with no DayZ or Arma II experience so when encountering CQF YMMV. But we do enforce our rules (being friendly and no exploiting or dc'ing for example), and if someone's not abiding by them we appreciate people contact us so we can set them straight.
