Why does 'feeling the pulse' reveal the name?
Schweinsteiger replied to roguetrooper's topic in General Discussion
Haha! Of course. -
Starting to think I'm too nice of a player.
Schweinsteiger replied to OptimumVision's topic in General Discussion
All this "trust" and "distrust" (based on military gear or whatever other reason to kill or not kill on sight) based on clothing, weapons, whatever, is ridiculous. You're just as likely to get killed by a guy in a T-shirt with an axe as you are with a guy geared up in camo with a rifle. Sometimes people talk then shoot. Sometimes they don't. It is completely random. -
Why does 'feeling the pulse' reveal the name?
Schweinsteiger replied to roguetrooper's topic in General Discussion
A name should be displayed when we get to within 50 feet of another player. The whole "realism" argument is mute considering all of the unrealistic bits in the game. -
South Novod in the garages. I've passed up a bunch of hacksaws (since the shotty isn't all that great anyhow). Also found them in the Empire State building in north Novo. Also in Svet, garages, fire stations, etc.

It's your fucking responsibility because you play with the rest of us without using any hacks! By not reporting this guy you're helping him ruin the damn game for the rest of us. Grow some fucking balls dude and report him. If you don't want to report him then give me his steam ID and I'll report him. I've been killed multiple times by hackers and I'm sick of it. Why in the hell would you help enable a hacker to continue hacking, ruining the game for people who play fair and want the game to be even for everybody else? Hackers know where everyone is on the map. They can teleport, have unlimited ammo, etc. Knowing where every other player on the server is is a huge advantage. Having unlimited ammo and the best gear (which is always pristine no matter how many bullets or zombie strikes it takes) makes them invincible. The can use speed hacks also. How you think it isn't your responsibility to report this piece of shit is beyond me.
-
Dude, it is your responsibility to report this guy or at the very least give us his steam ID. WTF are you thinking "It's not my style"!!! We all spent good money to play this game and hackers a ruining it. And you say it isn't your style? That's some serious bullshit. So a hacker was nice to you. A hacker wanted to make some friends. How lovely. Meanwhile, a hacker just killed me and my buddies after we spent three hours gearing up at the NWAF and Balota. A grenade out of nowhere takes a tree out to my right (we were all totally invisible, hiding in the trees). We all start running down the base of the cliff to flank whoever it is. We never even saw the guy. We all just magically died. Three taken out by one asshole hacker. Now we are fresh spawns, tearing apart our T-shirts and throwing away our flashlights and batteries.

Private Bandit Hunter and Investigator (Needs Jobs)
Schweinsteiger replied to Isador Akios's topic in General Discussion
Irish, I think I had my sights set wrong. At the time I didn't know what the number on the top right hand corner of the screen represented (distance the gun is set to shoot POI). Now I roll with my AKM set to 100yrds for close combat situations. I went to Balota today, found and AKM, loads of 5.56, AK101 mags ,etc. Unfortunately I couldn't locate the AK101 to take advantage of all that ammo. I settled for the AKM and a few drum mags (be careful with those drum mags. You need to have four spaces in your inventory empty, If you reload by accident and don't have four spaces open you lose the drum mag. It just disappears in to the ether). -
No, it isn't coincidence, it's irony. Look it up buddy. And I know the difference between a mag and a clip. Try not being a dick, you might like it. (words often have more then a single definition). -Schweinsteiger.

Yeah, I aimed down my sights. I made him bleed once for sure. Now I'm wondering if there's a better option then the AKM? -
So I get excited that we can now saw off the Mosin and fit it into our backpacks. First thing I do is go find a Mosin, then search for a hacksaw. I try about fifteen different locations, all filled with loot but no joy, no freaking hacksaw. I log in this morning and do the same thing, searching high and low, even in remote areas, no joy, no freaking hacksaw. So what's the deal Devs? It seems like you guys love to torture us like this; guns with no magazines, arrows but no chickens, Mosins and shotties but no more freaking hacksaws to be found! Cruel and unusual punishment for what? Because we supported you guys and bought the game? I've found one freaking hacksaw in the past three weeks...One! Since then it's been like the Sahara desert, dry, dry, dry. Come on Devs, add some more hacksaws so I can have a little fun? Thanks, Schweinsteiger!

Ahh...yeah, didn't watch the video to the end. I guess they need to die then, especially if they'tr griefing people. On another note, just started playing high population servers, what a rush! Got into a gunfight with a dude, shot him up with my AKM and apparently didn't even f@cking scratch him! I was dead on too, can't believe he didn't die. So wtf am I doing wrong here? He should have been the one to die, not I. -

Hell! The guy got a free M4 out of the deal, they aren't so bad. At least they kill in style. -
Kids today. Everyone wants to be a fake gangster.
-
It wasn't useless three weeks ago and they were a lot easier to find. Funny thing, as soon as I found my hacksaw I almost immediately ran up on another one! How's that for ironic?
-
By the way, I finally found a hacksaw yesterday evening. I was up north above and to the west of the NWAS. There are few dirt roads out that way. One leads to a small shed and a water pump. I found the hack saw there. Now I have to go run down a shotty. And the fireaxe does fit into your backpack. I also found a nice pristine Rider's jacket which I will use to store my sawed off shotty!

If you have a damaged rucksack (or any container), do the items inside degrade faster then if they were in a pristine backpack, medkit, etc.? Thanks.

I like the idea of water proofing our gear. Good idea.

pig killers make serios mistake
Schweinsteiger replied to Shrub Rocketeer ™'s topic in General Discussion
Guess what, I'm an idiot (yeah, yeah, it wasn't a secret to begin with). I was using my left mouse button to chop down trees. How in the hell was I supposed to know you're supposed to use the interact button? Anyway, now I'm freaking Paul Bunyan with an AKM and a bunch of splints! -
Nope, the vest was not anywhere near the M4. And I do not think the M4 is limited to crash sites. The house I found the M4 in had another weapon in the first floor room. I skipped across the street to another building and found more weapons, none dropped. So personally, I think the M4 can spawn anywhere at this point, regardless what the devs may have said about a week ago. The game is always changing so it is, at the very least, a possibility. On the other hand you may be right. It's hard to say at this point. Either way I was lucky because I had a 30rnd. C-mag in my backpack! :)

Grindstone, Yup, I agree, harbinger of doom for sure. Every time I get tricked out with good gear something stupid happens and I die. Found and AKM and lots of ammo, hit the forest to check my map so I crouch down and begin reading. Three seconds later a Zed from behind kills me in in one hit! WTF? I'm at the Balota tent city, had to climb a lookout tower because two Zeds were on me and I was bleeding. So I climb the tower to bandage myself up. I'm done bandaging so I get out my Python and start climbing down the ladder...server rubber-banding. I fall of the lookout tower and die. WTF? Over and over and over and over. Lovely game.
-
Huh? The apocalypse left us with an overabundant supply of everything. There should be good shit lying all over the landscape. This view of "scarcity" is all wrong. The only way things would be scarce is if we're playing many years after the Zed uprising began, then things would be scarce. If we have to hunt and fish (which is cool) then the caloric count of the proteins should be well above a can of beans or peaches or rice or cereal. How in the hell is a steak less nutritionally filling then a can of peaches or beans? As for guns and loot, keep it coming. Who wants the game to be so unbalanced that only some players are geared up nicely (because all the loot is gone) while other players get jack shit? the only way to fix such a situation is being able to master craft weapons that have advantages the guns and military equipment do not have.

I can't believe it! I finally found a freaking hacksaw! I had to journey way up north in some very sparse parts of the map (wood piles, a single structure in the woods, etc.) After searching on dirt roads I came upon a small shack-like structure with a water pump nearby. I went in and there it was, all shining like it came down from heaven just for me! Funny, this place is just above the North West Airstrip. All that time heading north, checking literally every building I came across, all the houses, construction sites, etc. Man was it a chore. I think I'm just going to find a shotty and saw it off. Seems like the Mosin isn't very good with a short barrel (as per what some people said in this thread). I also just found a pristine Rider's jacket (fuck yeah!) and I know where a shotty is, even though it will be semi-long trip to go get it. Thanks for the suggestions guys and thanks for the offer Baby Blender. -Schweinsteiger!

Yup, the Longhorn is awesome (if you use it for what it was designed to do, i.e., hunt or snipe. It is not a combat weapon and the scope can be used like binocs) I don't think this is the case. I just found a mag yesterday and I had the gun a few days before that. So I'm holding onto the mag in hopes of finding the gun soon. At the moment I have a 1911 and one loaded mag (thank God!). I like 1911's better but the eight extra shots the FNX45 holds makes it a better choice then the 1911. I also have a .357 Python so I can handle anything that comes my way at the moment (not counting my two assault rifles and my two axes).
-
I like military gear, tactical vests, mountain backpacks, combat or hiking boots, I love the Rider's jacket when I can find one that is pristine. I'd roll with a crafted backpack if they introduce an extra-large version with 35 slots. I like any of the shades on my face, ballistic helmets, leather gloves, spiderman underwear (It's true I found underoos!). But what I really, really want this Christmas is a freaking hacksaw!
-
By the way, I kit up with military gear and do not shoot on sight. In fact I would say more then 50% of people with military gear are good people looking to hook up with other good people. We really need to break the "he's got M4/AK and military fatigues, kill him before he kills us" stereotype. For Pete's sake! I have to creep around fearing for my life because half the people in this game want to shoot me on sight because I like military loot. Sit down, take a big toke and chill the freak out!
