Initially your body warms up as you run, then you begin to sweat, then the cold freezes the sweat and you become hypothermic and die. Look for a good jacket (Puffy down jacket or a Wool coat) and you'll start to warm up. Make sure you're healthy, that should lessen the effects of the weather a bit also.

Servers restarting far too often.. sometimes 2-3 times in an hour ?
Schweinsteiger replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
Yup, server crashes that result in server restarts (so it's a mute point, the server still restarts and immersive game play is ruined). This happened before the .48 update also and it lasted for at least four or five days. It made the game almost impossible to enjoy. My buddies and I experienced it yesterday. Servers restarting (or crashing, whatever) every 15-20 minutes. Last evening it seemed that they didn't go down quite as often but it is still a game breaking problem. Hopefully the issue has been dealt with (I'm going to play in a few minutes). -
The War on Wilderness - Reclaiming Myshkino
Schweinsteiger replied to Katana67's topic in General Discussion
I agree with Death, we need more interesting things in the wilderness to begin with, not just empty expanses without true purpose. I have no problem with towns and military bases, vehicles, helicopters, etc. I have a problem with nothing fun to do. I was under the impression that running would somehow be limited in this update and that hasn't happened. Not that limiting running would be good or bad. It would have to be based off of something real (too cold, get inside, find a jacket or be forced to start a fire or you eventually freeze to death). Some of the weather effects seem to crash on you too fast, other times too slow. The NWAF base isn't spawning as many AKs as before (at least while I was there) but there were at least five SKS's I found within 20 minutes of roaming around. The tents at the NWAF are filled with food more then anything at the moment, some clothing (mainly pants for whatever weird reason) and the occasional tactical vest. I'd like to see more options for improvised backpacks that match the storage capacity of Hunter and mountain backpacks. -
The melee has definitely changed for the worst. I used to be able to take out Zeds with my fireaxe easily, now it is "hit or miss". A buddy of mine told me to strafe as I swing and I took the head off of a Zed in the first swing. I haven't come across another Zed since that swing so who knows if it will work every time? It isn't a good idea to stand in front of a Zed so they stop (supposedly making them easier to hit, which it doesn't half the time) because they will ruin your jacket. Jackets have become very important since the weather effect update. Hopefully I'll either learn to hit them based on the new update or they will fix the "problem" (if it is indeed a problem).

New military base west of Myshkino
Schweinsteiger replied to karlkurtz32's topic in General Discussion
Seems like loot spawning is all over the place. On server restarts loot might pop up ad it might not. I'm going to check this place out in a few minutes. -
Where Can You Find Hunting knifes?
Schweinsteiger replied to Deathlove's topic in General Discussion
Found plenty of kitchen knives bro but no hunting knives. Hell! I don't even know what they look like! I did however have good luck at Balota, found an AKM (someone was murdered and the murderer left the guys AKM on the ground) and already had the AK101. I hide the Ak101 and rolled out of there as quickly as possible. On another side note, the tent city is gone, baby gone! -
They don't keep you warm.

I want to apologize to the DayZ dev's.
Schweinsteiger replied to Baker.'s topic in General Discussion
No offense but "It's the Internet" isn't really a good argument. You may as well say "That's life". -
I was just casually surviving the Zed apocalypse, chilling out relaxing in a back yard when a pig suddenly ran by me with about twelve or thirteen infected chasing the shit out if it. I was like "Fuck me!" because I figured I was gonna get screwed really hard, but luckily, only the last Zed (a creeper) veered away from the zombie pig train and focused in on me. I really wish I would have been able to get some video of that event but alas! It sounds like to much work to me.

I want to apologize to the DayZ dev's.
Schweinsteiger replied to Baker.'s topic in General Discussion
I liked the McDonald's line, pretty good. I still don't understand why people bitch and moan with such a clear disclaimer about not buying the fucking game if you can't deal with all the shit that comes with an Alpha. I mean, they actually tell you not to buy it, but if you like disappointment and are a bit sadomasochistic, then buy it. Then, after buying it and installing the game you have to click on "I Understand" every freaking time you play. People who bought the game after being told not to buy it, and then having to click on the warning every time are just pathetic, little, whining bitches. I mean, if it's that bad, why do you keep playing? -
Well, no. Not really. I shoot (not a lot anymore and I never got into long range rifle shooting) and if you're benching it the freaking barrel does not sway. Now you directing the shot from the back end, yeah in that regard, there is movement. Most rifles, unless they are complete shit, are more accurate then the shooter (mechanical accuracy). I think the main point is that most of us (in the world of Dayz and in the real world) are not elite snipers. Anything past 300 yards should be fairly hard to take out (meaning the game should make it harder on you if you are not lying prone and you don't have a bi-pod). Some asshole over 400 yards out should really have to work hard at stealing all your gear.

Mistakes you see people do all the time in DayZ

Shit! Guilty. -
To all those complaining about not finding mags ..
Schweinsteiger replied to Oyface's topic in General Discussion
No, you're very, very wrong. Go to Balota and you'll find mags literally everywhere you look (the military tent city for instance). Go to that town just above Novad (or below, I forget) and search the jail. You'll find AKM drum mags and regular magazines. Currently 7.62x39mm is freaking everywhere (in magazines for the AKM). Trying to find a mag for the carbine is almost impossible (in my experience anyway and I do know experiences differ). In over 300 hours of playing this game I have only found that magazine once! Once! I've found 1911 mags several times, speed loaders for the Python, the 9mm mags, AKM, AK101, M4 magazines, etc. but the mag for the carbine is almost non-existent. -
What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?
Schweinsteiger replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
Most likely. Either way I'm sure you don't like the idea of hackers running around and ruining the game for the rest of us, right? You will eventually meet a hacker and whether or not it is "nice" hacker or an "evil" hacker makes no difference. It is our responsibility as players (in my opinion) to report hackers. Why wouldn't someone want to report a hacker? Think of it in real world terms...Would you allow a known robber to continue to rob people, especially if you knew his or her identity? Or would you just brush it off and justify brushing it off because you haven't (yet) been robbed? -
Whether or not the speed of development of DayZ is a bit slower then other games still doesn't change the fact that no promises were made to us on when the game would be ready for distribution. Again, don't forget the "I Understand" button we all have to click on before playing this game.

What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?
Schweinsteiger replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
Yup, fuck those hackers! Aiding or benefiting from hackers and not reporting them should be cause to get banned. I fucking hate hackers. I've been killed by them multiple times and I'm (and lots of other people) sick of it. A friend of mine managed to kill a hacker and found (on the hacker's body) some 5.56 that fit into a single storage spot. There were 7,714 rounds in that single square of 5.56. My buddy took that shit into his hands and threw it into a pond. -
To all those complaining about not finding mags ..
Schweinsteiger replied to Oyface's topic in General Discussion
I think people were talking more about other weapons (1911 and other pistols, the carbine CZ575 or whatever it's called, the Sporty, etc.). Everyone knows you can hit an airstrip or military base and find loads of loaded mags. -

A lot more audio so the gaming experience becomes more immersive: 1.noting or pertaining to digital technology or images that deeply involveone's senses and may create an altered mental state: immersivemedia;immersive 3-D environments.Base building would be awesome. More frightening Zombies. I'd like to see cities in ruin and on fire, lots of black smoke and more rotting bodies everywhere. More characters (which I'm sure will happen sometime in the near future) and some customizable clothing. More importantly, an option or game feature in which missions are possible. Something that the whole community must take part in whether it be massive zombie herds attacking a city or some other interesting plot twist. In order for the game to be unique and to be a huge success it has to go beyond what most people expect. Shooting people, killing zombies and looting are only fun for so long. -
Dayz (though in Alpha) is a good game. People who respond to complaints with only (It's an alpha) are not better then the people who whine in ignorance of the process of creating a video game. The graphics are pretty sweet in my opinion, better then the graphics coming from the competition. The foundation of the game is solid and the devs are working hard. I believe, when completed, DayZ will be an awesome game (that's my hope anyway). Currently it is playable and you can have a good time. There are problems but that is to be expected while in Alpha. As others have mentioned, the reason we see new shirts, hunting, fishing, new weapons instead of core gaming problems being added is because it isn't a cut and dry "fix it" linear path. I'm not a fanboy and I have a little bit over 300 hours in DayZ. Right now, as it stands, once you're geared up there isn't much left to do but kill other players or maybe explore the map and do some hunting and fishing (and lighting a fire to cook on). That would be my main gripe at the moment but it wouldn't be a legitimate complaint because the game is still in Alpha. People need to have some freaking patience. When people say "In order to play the game you have click on "I understand" they would be 100% correct. We all bought an unfinished product. If you don't like it then log out and play another game. It really is that simple. There are pretty much no legitimate complaints when the game isn't even out of alpha yet. WTF?

Why does 'feeling the pulse' reveal the name?
Schweinsteiger replied to roguetrooper's topic in General Discussion
Well, I definitely don't want names following us around, that's for sure. I'm talking about some form of limited interaction, you know, once you've actually seen someone. If you've got someone in the sites of your rifle that's another story. A name should definitely not appear over your head or follow you. That would be terrible. -
DayZ Development progress makes no sense
Schweinsteiger replied to Doomlord52's topic in General Discussion
I read the entire post about alpha/beta and how Dayz is actually doing things that would be considered beta. In reality there are no set of concrete rules a developer must follow but I do agree, technically we are already in the Beta stage. Why all the ignorant comments directed at the OP? He said nothing controversial and he didn't attack the devs (at least not too much, there were some negative comments made). He just gave an opinion on the development of the game. By the way, when comparing Dayz to H1Z1 (after watching the newest game play of H1Z1 on YouTube) Dayz is miles above, just way better all around. H1Z1 is a mixture of "7 days to die" and Dayz done badly. DayZ, when finished, should be an awesome game to play. Currently it's all Pvp at the moment. Once you're done gearing up there isn't really anything else to do besides killing other players. This is a major weakness that needs to be addressed. -

Schweinsteiger replied to roguetrooper's topic in General Discussion
You make a good point there, didn't think of that at the time. Okay, how about once you are detected? I see no harm after that.
