Well, he ain't trading anymore.

So tempted to rename you "Max the Dick" but I won't since I'm polite and respectful.

Cool story. A buddy and I were at the NWAF earlier today at the lone barracks near the hangers. I'm in the second or third room checking out some loot and I hear a bunch of shooting. My buddy went into the shower room armed only with a whimpy little .22 Sporty and right in front of my buddy there stood a totally geared out Rambo mother fucker, decked out in all his glory! Anyway, I hear a bunch of shooting and I ask my buddy (on Team Speak) what the hell was going on, my heart was jumping out of my chest and I had my weapon at the ready. Somehow my buddy had surprised Rambo and gunned his totally geared-ass down to the fucking ground with a .22 Sporty! He shot the guy over and over in the legs of all places! So we make sure he hasn't got any buddies with him and then kneel down to see what kind of loot he was carrying. THE FUCKING MOTHER FUCKING LOAD!!!!! The guy had on a "shoot me please" mountain backpack with like seven or eight vests in it (press vest, four camo tactical vests, two high capacity vests, one black and one camo, all stacked one inside the others!). This guy had so much tuna fish I almost shit myself. He had a fucking FNX .45!!! (Which I promptly took before my buddy knew what he was looking at ;)) He also had a tricked out Mosin, an Ak101, various other pistols, LOADS of ammo and everything else you'd want to see in your best thought up wet dream! So now I'm cruising around DayZ with a sweet as FNX.45 and a Mosin, along with a Python .357. (and three vests, the high-cap with the two other tactical vests inside of that one). My buddy took the AK101 and one of the high capacity vests, all that damn tuna fish and the biggest fucking smile on his face I'll never see! P.S., I feel sorry as shit for server hopping Rambo. I bet he logged off and cried for a good few hours. It had to have taken him a shit long time to find all that most excellent gear.

Relax, use your brain and you'll do fine. Look at the arc of your weapon and make sure the Zeds are within that arc. Pay not attention to anything other than "you are freezing" and "You are cold". Anything else is meaningless. Food is literally everywhere. Get off the damn coast. If you get Cernaya Polana spawn you are golden. Just head up the hill and go to the fire house. You'll find at least 30% or 40% of what you need in that building alone. Go next door to the two story log cabin with the shed attached to it and you'll find even more gear. Then head down the road and to the left and you'll find a bunch of garages. Cernaya Polana is loot heaven. There's also a food house nearby, a junk yard to the east, Novad to the North, etc., etc.

I stood to near to the fire. Never did see the "your face is melting off" message. It went straight to "You are on fire! You are on Fire! You are on fire! I passed out soon thereafter.

I wear bandanna masks all the time, they make for good camo. It doesn't mean someone is a bandit if they were them. The bandit masks, well..I would say shoot on sight if someone is wearing one of them, along with the skull face masks. A regular balaclava isn't immediate grounds for execution but that one with the skull on it...

The problem is the temperature messages. They aren't exactly accurate all the time...example: "I am cold" --- "I am warming up" --- "I am cold" --- "I am cold" --- "I am warming up". I ignore weather messages unless they say I am shaking or freezing. Once you see "shaking/freezing" then you're headed for trouble. The screen will go gray when you're freezing and close to becoming hypothermic. Good clothing for the cold: Fireman's coat, wool coat, down jacket (puffy jacket), etc. Bad clothing: tactical shirts, Hoodies, shirts, etc.

I just saw a guy a few minutes ago, running away from me of course. I sad to him "Hey man! We can work it out! Stop! I won't kill you!" Any-who, when he stopped I shot him in the face a few times for laughs. :) He apparently didn't have a mic. If he would have said something to me he would have most likely lived through the experience. I just felt like killing at the moment. Shit happens right? Most of the time I talk and then roll out to find my buddies on the server.

I know how you feel. You just have to feel out each situation and respond appropriately. Let's face it, the guy that spawned in the barracks might have shot me if he had had more then just one cartridge in the pipe (no mag!). I decided not to shoot him because I like to see how people react. But overall, yeah, I shoot the fuckers too! I don't get the assholes who you help then come and try to kill you. That's just some seriously bad manners. You and I are probably closer in age (I went through the cold war too) and expect a certain degree of mutual respect from people. These kids today (yeah, I'm getting old) are just fucked up.

Sounds like good advice but I've tried that and it is still a "hit or miss" situation. Again, in .48 zombies were easy to kill, you aimed and they went down. Now, in .49, you aim, nothing happens half the time. I've strafed after side-stepping, assessed the path of the axe and adjusted accordingly but still get very random results.

So, what the hell is going on? In .48 I could easily hit any zombie from the front, behind, to the side, etc. Now, in .49 my fire axe is almost useless! It doesn't matter how close I get, nine times out of ten it takes multiple swings (five or more) to register a hit/kill! All my buddies don't seem to be having a problem and some say it's better then .48 but I'm not experiencing the same thing. I have a solid Broad band connection (cable) and like I said before, in .48 I could easily kill any zombie I went after. Now I use my pistol instead of my fire axe because it isn't worth tangling with Zeds and ruining my damn jacket or tactical vests. Is anyone experiencing the same problem as I am?

On full servers there is more loot everywhere. If you're on a low-pop server there is less loot. I've tested the theory out and it is true. As for the tent city, I haven't yet gone there on a high-pop server yet. Hopefully there will be better loot there.

Since the update the melee system (using the Fireaxe, the best melee weapon in the game) is worse. I used to easily be able to score a hit on a Zed without any problems. Now, under .49 I can't seem to hit shit. I've stood right behind Zeds and missed them several times. In .48 I never missed. I'm surprised some people feel the new system is better. I hope they fix this pronto!

Damn dude, you sound like a dick. Some guy spawned in a barracks I was in earlier this morning. He said "Don't shoot" and I didn't (he had an AK101 in his hands and I had an SKS in mine with an AK101 on my back). We became friends, exchanged Steam Id and ran around killing cows. Russians are cool in my book, the fucking cold war is over Captain Miller. Peace out bitches!

I thought he did a nice job ambushing that guy and taking his Mosin. It sucks when it happens to you but that's life in Dayz. Then his buddy shows up (when he was behind the wall) and even has the advantage but the dude kills him easily. How that guy didn't get a shoot off is beyond me.

Well, that is the mains point (giving us things to do in the game). I'd rather it be more exciting things to do rather then run around looking for another jacket or pair of pants. Ok, it is in Alpha and they are adding more and more things to do every month. I'm definitely not complaining, I love this game. When we can build shelters (I hate to call it "base building") it will be really cool. When Zed hoards are created then events can be created to the point that people will be forced to cooperate or die. Wouldn't it be cool when say, you're in Novad or Cherno and a massive hoard of Zombies attack the city? They Devs could send out a game-wide message for everyone in the area to start fortifying one of the main roads into the city (blocking the ingress route of the Zeds with cars and buses, etc.). In order to survive everyone has to work together for a limited period of time, if not then you die. There are a lot of neat possibilities the Devs could use to make the game a lot more fun and a lot more dynamic (besides just helo crash sites and car wrecks).

Thanks for the beans! Yeah, we should be able to maintain the gear. But...I think some of the civilian (non-hiking gear) should wear out quickly with use. Gear that is designed for the outdoors (civilian or military) should last much longer then it does. A good jacket/backpack/trousers/tactical vest should easily withstand many Zed attacks. And a heavy sewing kit is a great idea. Regular civilian clothes should degrade fast.

Good ideas but the "rather quickly part" I don't agree with. Good clothing is tough and can wear quite well. I like the idea of a heavy sewing kit.

Found out how to lite a fire, thanks anyways. I put one log on the fire kit and that sucker burned for over a half hour.

I tried using the stun baton and nothing happened at all! The battery was fine. I figure I did something wrong?

Hope you meet some better people. Taking a death threat in a game seriously means you probably shouldn't be playing games in the first place. The guy wasn't serious, he was just mad you kicked his ass (good job). Don't be one of those people who blows something so trivial out of proportion.

By the way, I've only tried lighting a fire once and it didn't go well. I made a fire starter kit and dropped some matches into it, nothing happened. So, do I gather some kindling, add bit of fire wood, drop it all on the ground and then use the matches? How do I start a fire guys? Thank you.
