A crime? Dude, back away from the crack pipe! Pigs are there for food and for our entertainment, period. It is not a crime hunt in the game or the real world. Do you know what would happen if people didn't hunt wild boar and other animals? You'd be hearing of people dying in horrible car accidents because the animals would be all over the place! People hunt the wild hogs in Texas and the hogs continue to be a serious public menace. Even though they are hunted they reproduce faster then people can kill them. By the way guys. I shot a beautiful Elk/deer(?) with a gigantic rack. Got meat off him, proceeded to the woods to cut down a tree for firewood and I got zip once again. I think I need to file a bug report. I was hunting a pig the other day, I was still a good 100 meters away from it and a Zed tears out of the tree line and starts chasing my pig! I wait a few seconds and then pursue my quarry. I must have ran a good half mile before catching up to them. I hacked the Zed in the head with my fire axe, pulled out my .357 and shot the pig dead. All the meat was in excellent condition (kitchen knife). So I try to chop some fire wood but was unable to...why? I couldn't chop anything down. I recall fooling around with my axe a few days earlier and trees would fall in one or two swings. Now I can hack at them all day long and nothing happens. WTF is up with that? Needless to say, all my pig meat became worthless without a fire to cook it on. Poor little piggy died for nothing!

Longhorns are still around, you just have to know where to look for them. Been finding more binoculars lately. It took me hours and hours to find an AK101 mag though. P.S., Found a hack saw, then almost immediately found a shotty and got to sawing it. Now I have a beautiful sawed-off shotgun with a nice snap loader. It fits in my mountain backpack too!

Sure, make the equipment grind worse. Horrible idea. Like I really want to run most of the time looking for food and drink. It's bad enough weapons spawn without ammo (dumb as shit idea) already. Now we get blue tents to boot (camo or woodland green/brown would have been nice). I know more content is coming but it's a slow wait.

Hi all, My name in-game is "Schweinsteiger"! My steam name is "grayswandir7". I'm a good guy and a soon to be a bandit/assassin hunter. People who KOS are cowards. I met two cool fellas in Berezino. They gave me a knife so I could butcher a pig. It was pristine. (thanks guys). They were taking out a small gaggle of zombies while talking with me. They said to keep my fireaxe on my back (I offered to help kill the Zeds but I don't blame them. Trust no one in DayZ!). We peacefully part ways and I headed for the jail to find a real weapon. Next thing I know some lunatic with an MP5 (had to be an MP5, it was suppressed and not doing a lot of damage to me) starts pelting me with 9mm bullets. I take cover and then run my ass off. I had no idea where the shots were coming from. I was bleeding a little so I bandage myself. While I'm doing that two Zeds show up and start kicking my ass. I run for a ladder and climb on a rooftop to regain my composure. Somehow I made it out of Berezino alive. Yesterday I found a blood test kit. I'm O+! I also found a pristine pair of binoculars! This game has a lot of potential. Right now though it feels more like "Running man" rather then a fleshed out zombie apocalypse. But that will all change rather soon. New update coming this Wednesday! We'll be able to grow food for ourselves. I'm new to steam so I'm not exactly sure how to hook up with people. I did team up with a cool guy named Revolt. I need to find him again on steam. Unfortunately Revolt died in my arms. I died shortly thereafter. Cheers!

Hey, I like tacos! On another note, found some binoculars. It seems like they are pretty rare. Wish I could find a damn tent now! Is it true that tents can only b found in deer stands? Oh yeah, real tacos or "American" tacos? I like the real ones better. Little brown people can cook their asses off!

Nope, just saying the more we talk about where weapons spawn the more likely they won't spawn in the same numbers and they might stop spawning in a particular place altogether. I am special. :)

Lets hope dogs are somehow part of the endgame. I reject the argument that the dog would get you killed from barking. You can train a dog to keep its trap shut, hide right along side you, etc. I think it's a great idea.

And yet no one has answered the question...

They need to add more content bigtime.

I think being able to train a dog would be cool. Then the dog could pal around with you (dependent on whether you keep him well fed or something) and watch your six, warn you of a player who gets too close ,etc. Lots of possibilities.

I know exactly where to find them both, often at the same time, but if I tell then they'll just move the spawn. Funny, when I get a .357 I have trouble finding the ammo before I can use it! Personally I like the Longhorn. You can use it like binoculars and snipe with it too!

First off, if you stick to the paved roads you'll almost always run into a small town or a big city. Don't go into the wilderness until you've gotten you're bearings (know how to use a compass and the browser map [shift+tab]). I'm fairly new (been playing for about two days). The first thing I do is look around to see what city I might be close to, then I take my shirt off and rip it into bandages and equip my flashlight with the battery so I have an extra slot to put some loot into. After that I loot the nearest houses,barns, shacks, etc. After I'm happy with my gear I go explore the parts of the map I'm not familiar with (which is still a large chunk of the world). Go to YouTube and watch Frankie's Dayz videos. That guy is awesome and he's funny as all hell! -Schweinsteiger. P.S., Now I just throw away the flashlight and battery. Until they fix the walkie-talkies there isn't a good reason to keep the battery. You can find chem-lights all over the place anyhow, though I think they attract zombies and they light up the whole damn room. Other players can see them from a long way off. Maybe I'll start using the flashlight again? Think I just convinced myself that chem-lights might be a bad idea when traveling alone. A few nights ago I was on the side of a house and I saw a green glow coming from the window (I was directly below and to the right of the window). So like a noob I say "You probably shouldn't be using that chem-light all alone I can see it easily". Soon thereafter the player comes out and says "Do you need anything" I reply, "Nope, thanks though". Then seconds later his three buddies come out of the house. Fuck me! They act friendly but I can tell they're a bunch of British assholes. They tell me to pick up a chem-light they threw down so they can keep an eye on me while they loot the town. Then they tell me to run. I knew what was coming. I bolt and start running, do some zig-zags, etc. I reach a gas station, stop for like a second and blamo! I'm dead. I remember their names, there will be retribution.
