i have to kill on sight often, mainly for fear that he has a much better kit and is looking for a good fight. but i normally try to make contact or avoid others. Most of the time i will attempt to disarm or make a player put their weapon on their back if i see them first. saying something like "Hey man, go ahead and put your gun away, dont try anything that'll get one of us killed, i know you dont want that" I give them the benefit of the doubt by doing this, letting them know i could've killed them, but i'd rather not bother killing someone defenseless and unaware. about 50% of the time i meet some cool people who talk to me, the other 50% ends in either them or me getting shot in the face without any communication. honestly, the most trustworthy people i meet respond somewhat like this "i can't do that" or "don't feel comfortable being unarmed at gunpoint". thats when i know i've met a rational guy that, just like me, doesnt want to end up on the coast, but rather make a friend or strike up a trade my KOS deaths almost always occur just leaving a mil base. just the other day i was running through Vybor military, looting up with my little improvised pack, only a sporter on my back with ma trusty splitting axe, and some relatively low level military gear. i finish taking the gear i need and run for the wall, and i see a three man squad at the barracks, a fully ghillied guy with an AKM, a sniper, and another guy with an AK. i run by them, too late to turn back now, seeing the ghillied guy aiming at me as i round the corner, i yell out "hey guys dont want any trouble, don't shoot me and i'll be on way to the airfield" without hesitation.... pew, pew, pew "don't kill me man, come o...." pew, pew, pew, pew -- You Are Dead

Generally, if you have enough people to split up into 2+ groups it's a good idea to do so. I like to go in a 3 man squad. i think its a perfect balance between power and stealth. Normally have two guys with either AR's or SKS's, whichever is available, and one guy with a mosin. NWAF is great with three guys, one rifleman as a scout, and the other to stay back and watch the snipers back as he provides cover to the scout. It works perfectly, especially when you have experience with the other two guys in the squad. No friendly fire, no communication issues, and hardly any problems keeping to cover. have had experience running with up to 8 people at once, and it never works out. someone always gets shot because they wont answer in TS, or says the contact you spotted definitely isn't him. Then, next thing you know, he's bitching and moaning cause you shot him. any more than 3-5 people and we split up into fireteams of 2/3. 5 guys is the biggest squad i'm okay with, any bigger and you gotta make sure you're all together. always one guy that falls out...

so, because i killed a guy I'm some horrible, low life, scum bag player sniping new spawns in elektro, right? haha. You'd be surprised. Yeah, i wouldn't trade with me or trust me...... but you shouldn't assume that just because i killed a guy in cold blood, i will do every thing to hunt you all down and kill you for the fuck of it. And how would i find you any way? i wouldnt waste my time chasing someone i have no reason to kill. I got a ghillie in the fraction of the time it would've taken to make one. In the end i see myself as the better survivor. i got the chance to get a ghillie suit for little to no cost, and i pursued it. I'm definitely an asshole, but im a ghillied up asshole now. Later guys, good luck trading.

*lost member logs into server with two or three buddies *server almost full of "randoms" *sees 36 players coming over a hill FFUUUUUU But seriously, good luck to ya

Being an admin of a server myself, when the server gets laggy and needs to be rebooted, we normally say "Restart in __minutes" and it shows up like direct chat but for everyone, so it shows who is typing out. To do this i believe you have to set it as a MotD or a BEC global message. i used to get the wonderful message "i feel like someone is watching me..." or even "my c**k hurts" there are some creepy and funny ones out there

Wanted a ghillie, got a ghillie. Shit happens and you shouldn't trust people.

Yes and no, i have had horrible luck, searching all spawns for helis on a persistent server and not finding a one. But on non persistent servers ive been able to find like 5 in a few hours time. I heard its something like a 99% chance for heli crashes to spawn invisible on persistent servers. and i believe what i heard, because the other day on my clans server (P:on for sure) we found one just south of Stary Sobor. So for the time being id go on non persistent servers for heli crash hunting

Helicopter crash sites are invisible still?
TGPstolas replied to PigletWolf's topic in Troubleshooting
Shit, well that explains why i cant find any heli crashes... -
My favorite was when these German bandits killed my friend and i, and when i respawned, they asked me if i'd come help them ouyt. gave me an akm with a full drum mag, and led me to their group. My friend picked off one guy, then i got the three others to huddle around a body looting, sprayed them all down. knocked one out, killed another, then chased the last one down and shot him in the back. came back to find the one guy unconscious, so i said some crude words about their group and told them to come back so i could kill them again. He said something in german, pretty sure it was something like "fuck you" After that, me and one of the other guys in the clan got pinned down in a house by a hacker, 99% positive it was one of the german guys, as he was cursing at us saying i shouldnt have betrayed his friends. eventually i relogged and got stuck under the house, and the guy tele'd to me(how i know he was hacking) and tried to feed me disinfectant spray. Too bad he didnt know when you're under that house you have a room the size of your character, making it so you cant shoot people/lie down. ;) was one of my favorite PvP moments in elektro. come to think of it, i think i died to a friendly grenade bouncing off the door of a building x)

Should scopes in dayz have the ability to zero?
TGPstolas replied to Karmaterror's topic in General Discussion
Zeroable if no mildots, or a scope that has mildots but is unaffected by FoV slider. Would be more realistic if they had both. honestly dont know why torchia is working on a universal scope for all rifles, when he should make scopes that are made to fit each rifle. -
So heli sites are on non persistent servers only? that might explain why i havent been able to find any crash sites. ran from vybor down to pavlovo military the other day and didnt see a single one, went through at least 2/3-3/4 of the crash sites on several servers. Maybe im just an unlucky guy

So, this is something new that i've not seen before
TGPstolas replied to TGPstolas's topic in Gallery
Was really a scouting location. i had two-three other people on their way and was making sure it was clear before they got there. I dont normally like being on veresnik anyway, i always get shot...
