Yes, the directional audio of infected is not working. It used to, then they broke it.

Has anyone encountered this? The text chat opens and types a lot of Y's. I have my chat bound to it. It happend maybe once in ten restarts. Just started for no reason.

I found two stacks of 40 rounds yesterday. Good thing I have a Mosin :/ Found a 1911 mag AND an eastern suppressor on the same char. No netting yet and no assault vests. I saw a guy with an M4 in Cherno the other day also. But he was going through ammo like theres no tomorrow so not sure it was legit. He must've used 4 mags while I was watching. Or two double ones.

As long as sounds play when they are supposed to I'm fine with them as they are. When a gun fires 100 m away I want it to sound like the gun is fired 100 metres away, not right next to you or more often than not, not making any sound. When a sound is played like birds flying up scared I want them to do so for a reason. When a chain link fence makes a noise it better be because someone just went over one nearby. Also, the ambient sounds of the forest and the waves are so damn loud. They are nice and ambient and all but take it down a notch or make it adjustable.

I have only once met a nice french dayz player. And it was a girl. All the others (many) have been douches.

Played today with a working mic and it made some difference, I believe. First a guy shot me on top of teh policestation in cherno but cuffed me and bandaged me. We talked and he relesed the cuffs AND gave me a loaded Cr75. I was amazed. Sadly we only got to the hopsital when we were assaulted and I got shot. Went unconcious but never woke up :( Second I met a guy in Kamyshovo, he had a gun and so did I but I greeted him adn we talked briefly then went our separate ways. In Elektro there was no talking though. Snipers killed people on the hospital roof and they were trying to get to their gear. I watched the show and only shot one guy when he came near me with one of my two shotgun shells. But I did notice something strange that I haven't seen before. When someone goes up the stairwell, you can see their shadow on the wall opposite of the stairwell, towards the square. Pretty weird.

Its poorly optimized as of yet. It will probably be better once the renderer is released but we dont know yet. Wait and see.

I think its a good idea too, mainly because a torch is easily craftable and more options to keep the infected at bay is always nice. Things need to be flammable though, houses, bushes, corpses etc.

Ive tried running at low resolutions too earlier but since everythig becomes super-ugly I decided against it. Frames DO become better though and the game runs more fluid. You still get slow-downs when you move into a loot-bubble and when other players are near.

Try using an older driver. I encountered a similar problem a while ago but it went away with using Catalyst 14.12

No. Your computer isnt up to the task. You need a new cpu and a proper graphics card.

Honestly? By the time its released I'll probably be playing something else. I have great fun in Dayz Sa and understand the development process is hard but its taking way too long and its taking its toll on the players. When I started playing you could have fun random encounters every day. Something really exciting happened almost every time you played and people were really up to trying new things and doing stuff. Now, Its just KoS, all the fucking time. And that gets boring really fast. I can partly understand that people are bored and cant think of anything else to do but kill other players and frankly I dont see this ever going away. It doesnt really matter how many cars, helis, new enterable buildings and other stuff comes around. They just become a short time novelty thing and then its back to the killing. The game might change but the players most likely won't.

I tried that but it didnt work. I reinstalled my soundcard and it seems to work now.

I think I found out why people have been so unresponsive to me lately. It seems my Mic isn't working in Dayz. I changed my headset to Headphones with a loose mic and it works in Teamspeak and in my sound controller but not in Dayz. Weird. Hope my Modmic turns up on monday so I can get it working. Today was a sad day. First I had a geared player get one shot outside Elektro by someone, full health, plate carrier and still scwupp!, unconcious, then killed by the assailant, then I got punched out by a newspawn even though I hit him twice with my axe first. Then I got killed in the almost exact same spot by two very well-geared guys who just had to shoot me even though I was an evident non-threat. Then I cuffed a guy looting a bus. I talked to him for a bit via text but then he turned ugly so I knocked him out and left him. I didnt have any keys for the cuffs anyways.

It actually looks like a nice FPS game.

Is this really a problem? I've been kicked once by a server admin and twice by Battleeye in 1500 hours.

I had a weird night. First I met a guy at zelno while I was popping zeds. He said "we can be friends, we dont have to kill eachother" then he started shooting. I decided he needed to die but got stuck on the dead zeds and killed. I didnt mind as my guy was fully geared and useless. As I respawned I was ataacked bu a puncher. I ran around and teased him for a bit but he kept on. I told him he could have my mosin if he stopped puncing but he didnt. I went inot the sea for a bit and got me a cup of tea. When i got back he was still there. We danced for a while adn i told him that if he just said " I'm a retard sitting in my chair drooling and wanking" I would give him my gear. But he didnt so i left. Then I got shot a Kamy policestation by someone who wasnt there. All the doors were closed on the second floor but still I got shot as soon as I got up there. Not from above. Maybe through a door. Anyways, I changed servers as my frames were hopeless on Grumys and had a medium-geared character in upper Berezino. I met a guy and talked to him then gave him a 1911 and a rak mag. Later I meet another guy so I give him a hunting scope and get some food. I then meet a girl wearing a pink raincoat and some other guy following her. I watch them for a bit through my scope but they seem to talk and then move on. I get to Kamy and theres people in the policestation. I watch them for a while but nobodys killing anyone so I move on. I get to Elektro and all is quiet so I log out.

Yes its happened to me. Usually you can sort it out by going somewhere else and dropping the stuff and picking it up again, or relogging. But Ive had a situation once where I had to throw away a plate carrier vest as there was ammo in it that couldnt be used, I couldnt attach a holster to it and items in it couldnt be used by the hotbar. Im sure the ammo made it so as it worked fine before.

I killed a guy at the NWAF y-day. I was being chased by a zed and didnt want to shoot so I led him into one of the steel hangars by the quonset hut. To my surprise a guy sits in the corner and starts shooting so i have to mow him down. Dunno how i survived but all my clothes and vest are ruined now :/

I liked your video. I don't KoS myself as I think it ruins the game but I appreciate the effort to explain. I PVP a lot on this game. Its the most challenging and exciting thing about it and I haven't found a game that beats the feeling. But Kos Isn't that. KoS doesn't pose a challenge at all. You see a person and he doesn't see you, so you shoot him. Because its fun. The person doesn't get a chance to defend himself, mostly he doesnt even see his assailant and often he doesnt even know hes been shot. But for one of the two persons its fun. Imagine behaving like this in life. You wouldn't have a lot of friends. KoS has its role to play I guess but as I said I just don't see the challenge or the fun in it. But some people think its fun to kick puppies or torment smaller kids at school too and I dont get that either.

I agree. both netting and burlap are items that should be craftable. Burlap is just rough cloth, you should be able to use any type of cloth to replace it. Netting is slightly more complex but a couple of rolls of string should do the trick and since theres no string, rope. I've looked at fifty boats and found zero netting. They seem to spawn considerably less loot now as well.

I lagged off the construction site in Cherno while doing a flanking maneuver. And that was that. I met six people, not one of them friendly.

I had USMC woodland camo pants on a character that got killed today. Ive got a PIR optic on another one and have seen plenty of red dots for crossbow.. Havent found any netting anywhere but ive seen people with wrapping and ghille. Dont know how they got it though. Frying pan, cant really say. The assault vest seems to be out.

I liked the general feel of it and often people wouldnt shoot you if you had the bow out, since they knew it was completely useless.

I killed my first player with the IZH y-day. He was standing still, looting a guy he just murdered so it was an easy 150 m shot. Give the gun a scope and it could be good. I found some ammo for it earlier and was actually looking for a cr as I had a scope. I died shortly after, loosing the gun and scope.
