I newspawned as my character got wiped the day before. Ran to Svetlajorsk and met a guy on the way there, he didnt say a word. Came to Svet, hear lots of AK shooting so I take it slow. Find a backpack and a hoe then my legs broke for no apparent reason. I believe I got shot but didnt hear anything and didnt see anyone and nobody shot me as I exited the building I was in. Crawled for a while while shouting over comms until I found a zombie that could gracefully kill me. Respawned south of Solnichy. Ran south. Met a guy in the road rolling around with broken legs. I didnt have an axe so i couldnt help him and he asked me to kill him so i did :/. Ran further south and got hold of an axe so i could make myself a backpack. Also found a mosin but no ammo. Ran to Elektro where i found lots of cool stuff including ammo for my mosin but as I was climbing down the school roof after finding the ammo, some a-hole shot me. Respawned just north of elektro. Since I had already looted there and had no weapons I switched server. Came to Elektro and it was unlooted(on a 30 man server) so I went to town. After doing my thing there for a while I sit in one of the fire station towers and my legs broke again. This time I also believe I was shot as my pants got ruined but couldnt hear a shot or anyhting. I could splint my legs as i had a splint from earlier and quickly made my escape south. Came to cherno and hid in a house there. Logged out. This session taught me to always carry at least one splint. These are so easy to make with a stick and rags and only take two places in your pack but they can save you many times.

Haha, this happened to me too. I spawned in the ACT at NE airfield and some guy kept calling that his legs were broken. I waited for a while then saw him. Unfortunately he saw me too and rasied his gun. Told me to come out but I told him that he would just shoot me. He told me wouldn't so I came out, then he shot me. I did survive his two shotgun shots and emptied my 10 rounds of sporter death into him. Then i went uncuncious and died. I respawned nearby and ran towards the airfield and the server restarts with the hateful "no message received". i continue running since I want to see if he died and find the guy crawling up the hill towards Krasnotav, lol!. If his legs weren't busted before they sure were now. So dumb of him really. I wouldve made a splint for him if he'd been nice.

Yesterday I went on a roof in Berezino and heard someone come up behind me. It was a guy in a motorcycle helmet(they're always dicks) So I ketp my distance. He kept saying friendly but I ignored him ang went on my way. After a while he comes running with another guy, they run towards me so I run away. They then start taunting me, saying theyre gonna kill me and torture me and stuff so I just keep running. After we get to the wrecked boat I take em on a small tour of the woods and back towards Berezino. They start to whine and say they wont kill me if I drop my gear but I just keep running. When we get to Berezino again i tell them its time to go sleep, so I jump from the Quay and log out. I could probaly have killed them as they had sticks and I had an axe but this was way more fun. If you see a guy lin a yellow raincoat logging in in the water don't shoot him.

Giving people weapons is a good way to get yourself killed. Its better to give food, water, clothes etc and don't give weapons. Make sure you keep your distance from newspawns as a lot of them will try to get close they can punch you out. If they keep trying to get closer, don't trust them, just run away.

Using melee weapons isn't much better than guns. It seems zombies can hear an axe killing their friends and family from miles away.

If everything is blurry, go inte configuration, cklick video then close three times and it will become crisp again. If your screen is grey, eat, drink and rest. Or find a friendly player and get him to set and Saline IV on you.....MOhahahahaha! that will never happen.

I took that route from novo to sinistok the other day. Saw absolutely nobody but strangely enough a lot of the houses that were looted. Then I went to the NW airfield and "you are dead"

I have been able to run to my corpse twice. The first time it was stuck on a ladder and couldn't be looted. The other time I got into the inventory screen and could see all my stuff and then got "no message received". It sucked.

For me chat works fine even after changing the button for it. I did however find one thing that might be something to look at. If you change the graphic settings, a part of the screen can sort of fall off. Everything looks normal but parts of the top, bottom and edges of the screen are missing. I think its related to aspect ratio but not sure. I just reverted everything to standard end went from there when it happened to me.

Seems like you did quite well anyways. You learned how to fix your legs and found a few items before getting KoS:ed. A normal day in dayz. I witnessed something also typical yesterday. I came to the NE airfield and see a guy fighting a crawler. He is having problems killing it so I ask him if I should help him, I kill the zombie with my AKM, give him a bandage and go on my way since he isn't speaking. Almost immediately I meet another guy at the ACT but he is friendly so we speak a bit and I go on my way. After a minute or so I hear shooting so I hide and look towards the ATC with my Binos. I then see the friendly guy looting the guy I helped with the zombie, obviously having killed him while a newspawn stands by the side waiting for his turn to loot. After looting they stand and are probably talking and all of a sudden the newspawn attacks the friendly guy with his fists. The friendly guy wins and runs away. And all this for basically nothing as none of them had anything of value. Two guys dead and one guy probably pretty happy about surviving the situation. I could've shot them all but didn't. Later I meet another friendly guy at the top of the tower in novo. We talk for a bit and proceed down the tower. When I'm about to step outside I get shot at and run inside. I heal myself while the other guy gets attacked and killed. I spot the assailant and are just going to pop his head open like a watermelon but nothing happens. I get up my axe and chop him. They are both dead. Turns out my ammo got ruined from the first shots I got but the gun is fine. I loot and go on my way. Later I hear more shooting and sneak closer. Two guys with m4's have murdered another, also carrying an M4. They spot me so I run, hide and eventually log out. And this is all just from a couple of hours of gameplay. The day before was waaaay more eventful with my character dying four times and lots of fighting for survival.

I've always wondered who the coward was that lurked in the mountains shooting newspawns was. Now I know.

I want this too. As it is now all weapons you find are either Pristine or ruined so theres little use for the wck. Only once have I found a magnum thats was badly damaged and ofcourse I couldnt find a kit then. But being able to repair scopes and other rifle parts would make it really meaningful to carry around.

I felt really sorry once. I ran towars Elektro from the north beach, and when I got to the first houses I suddenly see a zombie in front of me just standing there. I had my sks up so I shot him. Just then I realized that it was another player that was probably just afk. I said sorry a few times and tried to bandage him put he was dead as a doornail. A few minutes later I was sniped while sitting in the firestation tower munching on some beans. I guess its karma.

The fun part of the game is building the character. using the items you find and trying to survive for a bit. Having all the good gear is boring since you often get attached to it and do not dare do anything rash or funny,. Its better to count on getting killed once or twice every time you play and have fun doing it. This is not so much a gear-based game as many others as its easy to loot up and sometimes you can find a corpse or kill someone within minutes of spawning and then you get loads of things for free.

Four times this has happened to me, the first time I complied, was handcuffed, forcefed rotten fruit and had my legs broken. Needless to say I died shortly after. The second time I also complied but was shot almost instantly. The third time I told them to fuck off, was beaten, told them to fuck off again, was shot. The fourth time I tried being overly friendly, was handcuffed and left the server. So with 99% certainty, if someone yells at you, "put your weapon" down, you wil die. Better to go out fighting and maybe take one or two of the bastards with you.

People screaming "put your weapon down!" or similar should just stfu. Nobody will do that. Its better to go out bravely and get shot. That way you can start over, find the bastards, kill them, kill their siblings, kill their wives, kill their dogs, burn their houses down, burn everybodys house down that owes them money, burn every house that seems to be almost the same size as their houses.....and then rest.

I joined a night server. Seeing nothing I blindly looked around for stuff running away from zombies. While fiddling with my fleshlight I was knocked out by a zombie and never woke up again.

It sucks. When you have nothing it doesn't matter but when you have worked hard for your crap it really does suck.

Regular character for me too. But it was soooo boring playing on these servers. There basically no loot at all.

Since the weapon spawn is completely random the only thing you can do is check all common places over and over again: Police stations, fire stations, schools, piano houses, airfields and military bases. The mosin, shotgun and some other guns also spawn randomly in normal houses and apartments. Its usually no point in checking all houses though as its very time consuming but go for the ones above and move on to another town.
