I like the new crosshairs too. Although I have a dot painted on my screen for use in another game so that helps.

You apporach other players and say" Hello, I am friendly, wanna trade?" Then you will automatically lay down on the ground and your screen will go black. A screen will appear that says "you are dead" and trading can begin.

I haven't tried it in 0.55, but when I tried it I couldn't drive all the way to the island, just to maybe 100 metres away. The island is useless now when the loot is random. Theres basically nothing of value there anymore, just like the airfields and military bases. You have an equally great chance of finding military gear in cars and houses.

Today was better. It seems like private servers had something not working before that is working now. I first played with my best geared character on a low-pop public fragnet server and although it helped that I was energized and hydrated from the start, I could find food, drink and even some decent stuff. I then played on two private servers, one character in the north and one at the coast. Up north there were lots of loot. One lootgasm police station with orel and police uniforms, a rak and mags for it and mp5. Raks too noisy though so I left it. found food and clothes in other houses too. On the coast it was slimmer but I managed to find some backpacks and a mace. The mace sucked though so I almost got killed by two zeds. I hid in a building and had to rip my pristine tactical shirt to rags :( I killed a chicken too but had to skin it and didnt have a knife. I ran to the shore and made a stone knife but when I got back it was gone :( I could make a fire today, twice actually. Had a strange thing where someoens chainsaw noise would come on all the time, even though nobody was near. Very annoying. Its still very rough for newspawns. The well-geared characters do fine as once you get energized and hydrated you don't need so much to keep you going. But the new characters really have to struggle. I think I ate 15 apples just to get to factory, where I found my first can of food. I then found another just after so I might make it to Kamyshovo. It depends on how much is spilled when I open it :/ I did notice that jogging helped. Running do eat a lot of energy.

I actually managed to make a fire on two different servers today. Overall things seemed better today, there was loot and food.

If you have time and waterproof clothing, go there. Its a nice place.

I used to favorite any private server that I made a new character on. That way I had a list of the ones I could possibly have a non-newspawn character on. It became quite a lot though so I settles for a few servers I play on and deleted the rest. Sometimes I go on a private server and get a geared character as a nice bonus. But other than private servers you can have one server on first person view and one on third person view. These two characters can be moved between servers but it has to be 1pp or 3pp depending on what type of the server the character was created on.

Lol, I also killed one up there the other day. I did try to reason with him first though but of course he didn't listen. I couldn't go down after cause the people he had been shooting up started shooting at me. Nice vid.

I found a sword the first day of the patch, in a garage. I'm keeping it but haven't used it yet. It might not be so good but it looks cooler to carry a sword than an axe.

Logged in with a low-geared character outside Berezino, picked apples, killed a few zeds, found nothing, saw nobody, starving, logged out. Logged in with a decently geared character in Chapaevsk, found some useless items and a kitchen knife which I keep, for......a thing. Avoided some zeds and shot three. Thought about going to cherno then decided against it. Got starving, logged out. Logged in with a well-geared character at NW airfield. It was empty but I found a truck that I rode a bit of the way, then it broke after I ran over some zeds. Looted two towns in the middle of nowhere and found zilch. Tried to make a fire but the fireplaces kept dissapearing, Got starving, logged out. Logged in with a well-geared character in Cherno. Noticed he was cold and also had ruined pants. I was going to move along when i hear shooting nearby. I sit and wait for a bit but nobody shows. I become starving, logged out. Notice a pattern? This patch sucks. If the little food you eat would do some good and there were some to find I wouldn't complain but its just ridiculous the way it is. I don't want my geared characters to die just because the devs decide to remove all food from the game. I wouldn't say the loot is more evenly distributed either. Before it was distributed in a way that actually made some sense: Military gear in military sites, police stations and crashsites, medical supplies in medical buildings and household gear in households. Now its just random, If you actually find an item, it can be anything. I've found prisoner pants in red brick buildings, what are they doing there? Tents on rooftops? why? Do people tent on roofs in Chernarus? And lots of useless clothes in outhouses. I do like the new icons for opening doors, climbing and such. And the zombies are better, now that they can be avoided. These things don't mean much though when the loot situation is ruining the whole experience. I'm hoping for a 0.56 on wednesday with a functional loot system. Gonna play my lower-geared characters til then.

Apples aren't very nutritous so stopping and picking them is a waste of time and precious energy. You can kill animals and other players and eat their flesh raw. You will need to consume charcoal tabs after to avoid getting sick though. I don't like killing animals or players so I don't do this but it is available. You can also dig for worms and eat them and catch fish and rabbits in traps. Everything requires that you have the proper tools for it which you won't have if you're a newspawn. So instead, go to Elektro and do what we all do, give blowjobs for food.

I found one drum mag y-day by the BMP at vybor base. It was empty though so I think someone tossed it and kept the bullets. There was absolutely nothing in the barracks or prison but loads of handcuffs, keys and clothes around the BMP. Anyone seen any lootgasms in this patch?

Thanks for the tip about road flares. Unfortunately they are just as rare as matches. Maybe its time to replace the useless flashlight with a lighter.

No point in having tents if theres no loot to store in them. I've found five civ tents so far but have found nothing worth storing in them, except possibly other tents?

I climbed onto the roof of the tec building in docks at chernogorsk and now I am not able to climb down either the inside or the outside ladder. I was initially on top of the small building and that ladder doesn't work either so i had to jump down breaking my legs and stuff. It seems to work for other players as a guy came up and tried to kill me. I have tried relogging and also restarting the game. I have also tried dropping all my gear but it doesn't work, I simply cannot get the icon to climb ladder to appear. It works fine with other character son other servers. *Resolved* - the server restarted and i could use the ladder. I also found a corpse to steal a new pair of boots from :)

I got my first grenade kill today. I had encountered a guy earlier and a newspawn who was with me attacked him. i told him not to and shot at the newspawn. I guess the guy got confused and thought I attacked him so after killing the newspawn guy he came after me. I had retreated to the top of the TEC building on the docks of cherno and saw him come up. i told him we could be friends but he just sat there waiting. Now i had a grenade that i found on a dead man but I had never used one before. I unpinned it and tossed it and it landed right beside him. He looked at it but probably didn't understand what it was BOOOOM! What a show. I grabbed some food of his body and was going to head downstairs but something broke in my game and the ladder didn't work so I had to logout instead :/ On another character I found three tents in cherno outskirts. And a chainsaw. No gas for it though but its real efective against zeds even without it running.

I met some people outside cherno on the GOG server and ofcourse they killed me even after I showed I was no threat. I went to hunt them but ofcourse the server chrashed before i could reach them. I played on the Wobo server for a bit and was attacked in Severograd by some crazy person with a mosin and only two bullets. I didnt know this ofcourse and he hit me once. I plugged him with my cr75 but fell unconcious. When I came to he was on the ground unconcious. I was bleeding and badly wounded and my bandages were ruined so i had to rip up a perfectly pristine tactical shirt to bandage myself. I wanted to tie him up but the cuffs I had were ruined so i killed him instead. I left an AK on his body and took the mosin as i didnt have a magazine for it. My gorka and TTSKo clothes were ruined so I had to find some other crap. I also had to eat lots and lots fo food to get from almost dead to energized. At least i got a protector case out of the battle. The day before I was at the northest military base and came upon either a very young boy or a girl in the barracks. I wanted to talk but he/she was afraid so I left instead.

I wonder if we will ever get to see dual wield pistols?

Good post, only if you are a real painter you start painting the difficult spots first and when they are all done you swipe the larger general area. I'm a painter so I should know. I would like to see an endgame scenario where if you are bitten by an infected, you become infected and has to play as one til you get perma-killed. It would be awesome. It would make players fear them and there would exist a good reason to use firearms to kill infected.
