Its still quite random. I've spawned in Berezino and found a gun or two almost right away and also gone to the gun houses outside of elektro and come up with nothing. Its not a problem at all as this game doesnt have mandatory shooting when youre a newspawn. Loot up first, kill bambis later.

I had a few things happen the other day. I found my very first SVD after 2100 hours of gaemplay :) I also found a magazine for it with 4 bullets. I almost got to use it too but the guy who attacked me ran away. Y-day I went to NWA and saw a bus on the hill so i went to it. As I'm checking its content I hear rustling behind me and a guy in a red beret pops out and starts shotting. I shoot him twice with my shotgun and am pretty sure I got him. Unfortunately he got me too. Later I get to Stary tents and I notice a guy already there looting. He attracts a lot of zeds and start shooting them. After a bit he has a veritable horde behind him so i decide to help him. I shoot a few with my shotty and lure them to a house and trap them there. I don't see the guy again.

My fps differs from day to day and depending on what server I am on. Its weird as hell. I can be on one full server and get 65 fps, then it restarts and I go to another full server and have 120 fps in the exakt same spot.

Why are texture son items so shitty? It didnt use to be like this, just look at the screenshot fo the the lootsplosion up above. Things look way better. Its not my settings, I have tried everything. But for some reason items in your inventory have no high resolution textures. Strangely if i put the item on the ground it seems to have this.

Thousands of guns go missing in chernarus every year. This is the reason for it. It would be much easier if your character had a slot for melee, a slot for rifle, a slot for handgun etc. That way they wouldnt get lost so easily but it would make it more like any other game out there, which is bad.

I believe you need edge smoothing on high to get proper trees. But a lot of things look like crap at a distance. When you look through binos or scopes its like no surfaces renders, everything is just big blocks.

It would be interesting to hear how you play the game since what you are describing is not exactly what I'm experiencing. Example: Y-day I spawned outside of Solnichy. I picked up a stone knife and stick and ran south. By the time I got to Kamy I had found some food and my first gun, a chambered p1. In elektro there was shooting so i kept to the outskirts but found burlap so i made a backpack. I also found a shotgun there and later a chambered scoped sporter. I continued on south finding some better clothes and outside Cherno a waterproof backpack. I went into cherno and found a 1911 with mag and some bullets, an sks and more food. I fell in the water and had to make a fireto get dry. I continued towards balota and found a tent in the woods next to the airstrip and picked up a blaze and some ammo for it and swapped out the 1911 for a cr with mag and silencer. At Balota someone moved outside the hangars while I was there but never attacked me. I found a corpse in a house outside but no good loot. Continued on to pavlovo mil base where I found some military clothes and boots and a few bullets for the SKS. Unfortunately I got cornered by some zeds and had to run to the roof. Now I'm down to 4 blaze rounds and a stick :/ Ready to go again tonight.

There are no such servers.

For an evening of playtime it is quite well balanced. You spawn, run around the coast for a bit, get your first gun quite early on and spend a while finding bullets. You go inland and find food and better clothes, then get to the first military areas and find an auto with mag, mil clothing and pack, then continue on to get shot dead by some a-hole you never see. And all in the space of a few hours. But for a continued character it is way too easy. Theres usually no point at all in playing a character for more than a sitting as the amount of gear you can find once you are geared and in the right area is just silly.

You CAN get a refund from steam. As long as its within 14 days and you dont have more than 2 hours of playtime. So just go for it.

I had a thing happen. I spawned near Svet, went the route to Krasnostav and then to Gorka. When I'm approaching the deer stands I see four or five guys come running across the field, geared to the teeth, m4's, ak's, ghillies and shit. I have a chambered Makarov. I didn't know if they saw me so i hid behind a tree and waited. Ofcourse they come straight for me so i decide to F11 it. Strangely they all run straight past me as I'm sitting in the tree with my gun to my head. But since its bedtime I decide to end it. I wonder what they said about it?

I played experimental on tuesday night. Went to play yesterday and it wouldnt start. 0.60 starts no problem but not exp. What happens is that the small start-up box comes up and then closes. its says in steam thats dayz is running and then it just stops even trying to start. At first I thought, no big deal, and tried a number of things, reinstalling dayz, reinstalling steam, changing some minor stuff like admin rights, reinstalling divx and c++ and a lot of stuff like that but nothing worked. So today I reinstalled windows. Updated all drivers and shit and when I press that button to play experimental.....nothing. What the actual fuck? I have a computer that gets a 7.8 score on windows index with no fualts and it played experimental fine on tuesday. I changed NOTHING and suddenly it does't work. And as I said, 0.60 starts and runs fine but not exp. Help.

Apples never run out though. It just takes time to get them. You need 8-10 apples to get from dying of starvation to fully green energized and hydrated. So just stand by the tree and press the button for a while and you'll be fine. This is actually one feature that I wish they would change. As it is now all it takes to get the apples you need is a lot of time. Wasted time. If there is an apple tree, you should be able to get an apple every time you search for one. Same with rocks and sticks.

Finally the game can kill me without some tard shooting me for no reason. This last week I've been killed by zeds, killed by wolves and frozen to death on the prison island as there are no fucking oak trees there and you can't make a handdrill kit from birch bark :/ Good stuff. Still though, KoS'ing on experimental is lame. Where is the enjoyment in shooting someone who just recently spawned, has nothing and is trying to communicate with you via speech, ya dunces.

Something fun happened! And its been a while. I spawned near Chernaya polana, geared up for a bit then went for Svet. In Svet I met a guy with a horde of zombies chasing him. I killed them but didnt get a thankyou. I later realized that maybe he was gathering them for a reason and I ruined his play. Sorry mate. Anyways, i continued on adn after a bit a bambi comes up and starts trying to punch me. He doesnt reply to communication and I quickly get bored and continue on with him following me. I decide to climb the stair to the top of the TEC building and knock him out as he comes up so i do that. Unfortunately with the game beign what it is I get knocked out instead, even though i had brass knuckles and hit the guy three times and he only hit me once. I wait to wait up but hes still there, punching my body so i decide to respawn and try somewhere else. Ofcourse I spawn in Svet. I decide not to go and find the guy but then I find an IZH and I had ammo for it on my previous character so i run to my corpse. Its still there and the guy is gone but the 7.62 rounds are still on my corpse. As I load my gone I hear some zeds and I spot the guy. I shoot him and hit but he doesnt die. I wait and after a bit he comes climbing up so I pop up and shoot him. This time he dies so i leave. As I'm leaving I hear zeds again and what do i see, the guy returning to the scene of the crime. he doesnt see me so i wait for him to climb the stair and when hes almost at the top i shoot him and he drops. Feels good man.

It'd be so fun if you came to Myshkino tents the day of 0.61 release and there was nothing there but a hole in the ground.

I havent found an m4 in months, and I go to Myshkino and NWA every day. I'm not sure people even remember this, but it used to be waaaaay easier to get military weapons and gear when Balota had a tent city and the NEAF spawned good stuff. It would be better if they spread the wealth around for a bit instead of focusing it in just a few areas. As it is now, nobody goes to the East of the map as there is nothing there. Not even Berezino see much action since it spawns so little and useless loot. I even remeber when you could have fun in Svetlatjorsk but its just soo dead now. Other than that one of the big problems with this game is the playerbase. A LOT of people spawn, run to myshkino, PVP, respawn and repeats. Nothing else. They dont care about the survival aspect of the game or have already explored enough and got bored with it. If you sit around Zeleno and just watch you will see many ungeared players who just run through. I don't think anything can be done about this.
