Yep, Hoik is right, events are not happening. OP, did you even bother reading those last threads? I am fairly sure that was said in them, which is why they die.

Can't get energized / healthy no matter how much I eat.
Sleeves replied to venkman302's topic in General Discussion
Have you tried non - processed foods from trustworthy farmers who do not use pesticides? Farms which do use chemicals can also have them seep into the water supply, further harming your health. Add on the farm animals drinking that water or eating contaminated grass and it is even worse. Also try picking meats that come from animals which do not eat hormone boosting meals. http://authoritynutrition.com/9-ways-that-processed-foods-are-killing-people/ This man explains it rather well. -
Yeah, obscure player names set off air raid sirens for me. Normally I report them to Steam for hacking.

The Myth of Jacob - Chapter 1 [Updated]
Sleeves replied to StarLord (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Also the spelling mistake was "incase", located at the end of paragraph one about the fog. The correct spelling in that instance would be "encase". -

The Myth of Jacob - Chapter 1 [Updated]

You may want to check for spelling mistakes next time. I also dislike the format of the story. I then began to... I checked for... I was wearing... I decided to... I had... A LOT of that was in those two paragraphs. Try cutting back on "I" statements and try explaining the character's actions differently. Also you do not really explain things well to begin with. You explain a lot of events, but do so with only a single sentence for each. That does not mean explain each step the person takes with 500 words, but some better descriptions would be better. The intro is good enough though, but it does not leave me wanting more. -
So then currency is rare, therefore the traders would only sell high end gear. In the end, server hopping would just be less of a hassle. Then it still comes down to the developers not wanting NPCs.

So I finally found a tent... any tips?

Planning ahead. -
I thought someone said being super thirsty makes you pass out and the only cure was saline bags.

For those of you that have lost faith in DayZ...

I always had the development process explained to me this way... Alpha - Add shit to the game in mass, even if it is barely functional. Beta - Fix the shit you threw into the game so it actually works well. 1.0/Full Game/Release - Congratulations, the game should now be in full working order. More features can be added if tested to work at max functionality. -
So I finally found a tent... any tips?
Sleeves replied to Death By Crowbar's topic in General Discussion
So, some useful tips for setting up your tent: -Do not pick a place because it is cool. As neat as the top of the hill is overlooking Novo, other people will think so as well. Setting up in valleys or obscure places is a good idea. -Pick a spot on the map that is not traveled often. Sure that spot in the forest between [high loot are A] and [high loot area B] is convenient, but a lot of people will probably dash through that stretch of land while doing scavenging trips. -Make sure your vehicles can reach it. If you cannot get a car down to your place without ramming several tree and losing a few tires, then maybe the place is too hostile. -Finally, be sure to check up on the tent. After seven days of no attention the tent will move on to find a new owner. This was made up off of the top of my head. A little simple and thrown together sloppily, but hopefully you get the idea. -
DayZ likes to pride itself for being realistic. A static NPC with an endless supply of can food which accepts a now over inflated currency is a little silly. If I remember correctly, the developers wanted as little event/NPC interactions between players. So zombies are about the only computer AI you will be experiencing. I am thankful for that, it lets players mold the world around them, not the world molded around the NPCs.

It would be a fairly neat idea. My only complaint is a sharp object needed to open the bag. It is a little too in depth, right clicking to open it is good enough in my opinion.

I'm so glad i have this flashlight in the Zombie Apocalypse
Sleeves replied to Billyboblikespie's topic in General Discussion
I watched a video recently where one guy explained how people would get amazing gear, and then never log back on or go near people because they did not want to lose it. You sort of seem like that type. You can get another m4/AK.But the flashlight is a good item to spawn with. As said before, it is a small tutorial for crafting and wielding weapons, along with a source of light for people who did not know maxing out gamma allows night vision. If you really do not want it, drop it. It is really not that hard. -
Ah, I remember a friend telling me that happened when he downed an entire pack of powdered milk.

The wiki says that you can keep taking blood from someone by a blood bag and it will not kill them, which I later found out was a crock of shit. Honestly I would not trust the wiki, or anyone else for that matter on how health/blood works. They are both separate entities sure, but going too low in either seems to kill you.

I've been playing DayZ for a while, but I don't understand the death situation.
Sleeves replied to yazar8's topic in New Player Discussion
There is a health stat as well, similar to blood. You can have full blood but die from health loss. -
I miss the mod zombies. Cities overflowed with infected that were always on the prowl. Back then in the good ol' days, when traversing cities, we had to CRAWL! You kids have it easy.
-
We should also get in depth with character health as well, not just item health. Make toothpaste a consumable that prevents cavities. If teeth are not brushed for extended periods of time cavities form which can not be cured and kills the player. Cancer, malaria, and various other diseases should be implemented as well for no other reason other than to make the game realistic. Realism > Fun

Etiquette around people sitting by a fire?
Sleeves replied to Death By Crowbar's topic in General Discussion
I hope a developer looked at that layering suggestion for clothes that was made awhile back. -
He probably accumulated enough food to enter a state of hibernation. A little early in my opinion as fall has just begun, but to each his own.

Pay Day mask are too happy and easy going for the dark, gritty, serious Zombie Roleplay game I was expecting to get.

It is okay because it is not against the rules. -
Is it considered bad form to server hop at military areas?
Sleeves replied to zombieland78's topic in New Player Discussion
Brain Hicks said that in his personal opinion that official servers will have around 10 vehicles, from large to small ones. That is his stand on it but the development team is still discussing it, he said. -
Make impossible to find "good" loot after server restart.
Sleeves replied to Wili's topic in Suggestions
Servers do not really follow a set restart time. Some are capable, but a lot of others just crash whenever it feels like going down.
