We mined stone from man-sized rock we picked at random at first try, worked immediately. Didn't bother trying it afterwards. I think it was done from first person view.

Three things that completely ruin the DayZ experience...

I like that idea but it needs protection against crashing/server restarts. And there'd be a problem with people who just found a new gun and want to log out but 10 minutes later on decide they want to go play some more because they just found said new gun. I guess that could be elaviated with a warning before entering a server but who reads warnings, any way? Nah, combat is plenty dangerous as it is. Doesn't "ruin" the game for me. Actually, nothing quite ruins the game for me. I might ocassionally get bored because of a lack of content but that's obviously being worked on. -
Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)

When I last played, zombies were fast, aggressive and kept respawning. I took a two or three-month break and now the zombies are seldom seen and not much of a threat. Actually, they're more annoying than anything else because you might confuse 'm for a survivor. They do seem to move more fluently, though .. Definitely needs moar zombies but so far the zombies themselves are better than they have been before, if a little weak. -
I also came back from a two or three month break and the game has improved considerably.

When I played the mod there we did so on a private hive because public servers were taken over by people who also liked to force their own rules onto others (i.e. cheaters) and once we were on the private hive they decided to force their rules onto everyone else by adding permanent buildings and no-combat zones. Get my point?

Sounds great. perhaps they could make it so that you have to modify the scope first in certain cases. For example, the PU scope has this mounting rail that probably would only be in the way if you were to use it as a scope. New recipe: saw + PU scope = useful binocular? Or maybe you could detach it manually in real-life but hey, what do I know ...
