It seems highly unlikely he is running everything at med/high because once you set certain things to high/med the videocard takes over from the CPU and the guy does not have much in the way of a videocard ... Unless, of course, is running one of those dual videochip laptops. Do you know exactly which settings revert to CPU when lowered beyond a certain level? I really -wish- someone at Bohemia had the smarts to just include a (CPU) and (GPU) behind the settings but noooo, they'd rather have you run a terribly unoptimized game .. Friggin' ridiculous.

Name stays. I need to know who the unfortunate person is that accidentally tripped over my axe twenty times. I see no reason to remove it and the arguments provided aren't exactly convincing. Hardcore players prefer NOT to know whom they have been dealing with because it is more realistic? No one forces you to remember and/or read the name when you check for a pulse. Not only that, knowing the name does you very little good other than a "I have seen that guy before!" because they can change it at any point. Knowing someone's name doesn't make the game any more difficult or realistic unless the guy happens to be Rimpelstiltskin, of course.

Did you also set the aspect ratio? It is different from the resolution.

Blood test kits should be made more common and they should come with a hint on what to do with 'm.

On one had I have been made to understand that developing a game takes a lot of manhours and time but on the other hand I am not impressed by what they have come up with so far. Especially given the fact that most of the assets already exist in the DayZ mod which seems to be the exact same game. Perhaps it is my simplistic mind but you'd think the game would have surpassed the mod right from the get-go simply because the ideas, models and whatnot were already there. They're working on that, though. Creating a better same system and everything.

I have played with a 5770 and a 6870 and had no such problems. I use the default settings in ATI Catalyst ..

Strange becausd we found the crossbow to be terribly ineffective. I guess the low rate of fire played a big role.

I think one of the guys we play with had that problem as well... I think the solution was editing the resolution in the config file manually. Search for DayZ standalone config resolution or something. You'll be bound to hit something useful sooner or later.

They should make a 3D Disney movie about you where you're this shy creature that scurries away when he's seen but eventually ends up making friends with some 7-year-old AND ENDS UP GETTING SHOT IN THE HEAD BY A .50-CAL SNIPER. BOOM HEADSHOT! Okay, that last part probably will not make it into the Disney movie but it could be like a bonus disc with an alternate ending? Seriously, though: the game is boring as hell when it comes to survival because there is nothing to die from currently other than other players. It is not very hard to not be seen: just don't log into the game or just stay out in the woods in the middle of nowhere. You can hunt and chop trees all day long without running into anyone. So basically evading other players means you're evading the only obstacle in the game. DayZ SA currently is about getting a gun, finding another player and hoping he'll shoot you so you got an excuse to shoot back while looking slick in the outfit that you managed to scrounge together. If youwant survival, you should play the mod I think.

Did you accidentally join a hardcore server while you were playing on a standard server or vice versa?
