    How was your Day(Z)?

Logged into server to join my Steam group. Ran from Novo to Electro. It turns out they headed to Svet so I started running to Svet. We ended up meeting half-way then the server got hacked and we all ended up as fresh spawns in Vybor and got blown up. Changed servers and logged in as a new spawn near the coast. Proceded to get shot at at the docks. We got out of there and headed to Svet where we ran into 2 friendly bandits that robbed my two friends...they were the nicest bandits I've come across in DayZ...lol. Met an armed friendly player...chatted a bit until 2 other fully geared guys (they play bandits but spared our lives for some reason) heard us talking. We started talking to them as the armed friendly player hid behind a shed. They saw him and gunned him down and they let us have his gear. We ended up running with this new group of guys for the next 4 hours and by the end of the session it was a group of 8 fully geared players roaming around Novo and Svet. We killed a hacker in Novo (glitching through walls and speed hacking all over the place) and a player who came at the 8 of us with an axe (we have no idea what he was thinking and why he came at 8 fully geared players with an axe). That was my DayZ day last night

How did you die the first time?

I was on top of a construction site just minding my own business and a guy on the ground called out "friendly" . I yelled back friendly as well and he came up. He then proceded to chop me with his axe and the whole time we were running around in circles (me bleeding of course) and him swinging his axe at me he kept saying "I just want to be friends". My first of many deaths in this game.

    What intimades you the most

No type of clothing/gear intimidates me...not answering in direct chat gets my guard up but even then they may be new to the game and not familiar with how the communication works in this game. A group of us played last night and we ran into 4 different players. 1. Geared guy~friendly~he logged out while we watched over him. 2. 2 fresh spawns~friendly~one asked us to kill him so he could get a better spawn so we did and we fed the other one so he could meet up with his friend in another town. 3. Guy with 2 primary weapons (SKS and a shotgun) wearing a motorcycle helmet~friendly~he ended up joining our steam group. You never know what type of player you're going to run into in this game, I never judge a book by it's cover until I talk with them. I make my decision then.

Is anyone in DayZ Standalone friendly?

Us "friendly's" are out there although this game would be very boring without bandits or people that KOS.....there's nothing wrong with the way anyone decides to approach the game except hacking.

dayz screenshot of fps on low-end laptop

Right above the reply box there's a small white box with a green thing in the middle and if you hover your mouse over it it says image....click that box and paste the url of the image in the pop-up window when it appears..no need to add the image tag.

    Friendly or Bandit?

A good example of how I and the guys I play with approach the game. This doesn't happen like this all the time but every now and then you will meet other players that aren't KOS players. I think it's worth the effort to talk first rather than just start shooting...... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uo6h8iQCrLo

    Friendly or Bandit?

The small group/squad that I play with are usually carrying our weapons out but not raised when we're in a town or city just as a precaution but we don't shoot on sight if we see someone. We'd rather try to communicate with the person first to see how they react and our reaction is based on their reaction. Each situation is different but if someone doesn't answer back we are ready to defend ourselves. So, just because someone has their weapon out doesn't mean they're hositle. I'd give you the shirt off my back if you asked me but that's just me and how I approach the game. What you decide to do is up to you but I think it's harder and more of a challenge being friendly and trying to communicate with a total stranger. I've died a lot in this game doing it this way but the people I've met and chatted with make up for all the negatives....I'm not attached to any of my gear.

    people tracking?

Sounds like you encountered one of the real winners who play DayZ. I avoid the water especially when I have gear (it likes to come off your back and float which you may or may not be able to retrieve)...it's a good way to lose it..just a heads up in the future. I too always log out away from heavy traffic areas in a bush or in/under a tree and never had an issue when I rejoin the game.

    Just once

Last Friday a friend and I were playing and came across 3 fully geared guys at the secret base. We all met each other at the same time after we announced we were there and not one of us aimed our weapons. One of the guys in the 3 man squad we encountered said to an extent "It's refreshing that 5 fully geared players aren't shooting each other at this moment". We chatted for a few minutes then went our separate ways. Later on in the evening my friend and I were in a town and someone rolled out from between 2 buildings and shot my friend in the head without saying a word....he later died and I didn't say a word before shooting him. I'd rather talk to people than randomly shooting at someone but sometimes you have to. Keep at it....there are more of us out there that like to communicate than you think.
