    I have played all styles, and while I enjoy banditry often, I'm usually more of a friendly player.  Anyone that's played that style for a bit knows it's not exactly the route paved with gold.  Except for the two guys I ran into today.  I met them at the town hall in Novo.  Just happened to run into them while I was running through the city.  Neither of them had a gun on their backs, but one had an axe.  Anyway they told me that a couple of players had just been shooting at them by the bus station and since I had an SKS I offered to help them take those players out if they led the way.  Once we got their one of them yelled "I see one!" so I pulled out the SKS and ran to a wall for cover.  We were scoping the area out when the one that said he say someone said that he must have been mistaken so I put my gun away.  That's when they both told me to follow them down to the stream across from the bus station.  They explained to me that they were trying out an experiment and since I was actually a friendly player that I'd won a prize.  Floating on top of the stream were 3 full plastic containers full of medical supplies and food, and a hunting backpack with a 75rd drum for the AKM, 200 7.62x39mm rounds, and 2 full canteens.  After giving me all that they said there was more under the water.  Then they gave me an AKM with all the attachments, and a black high capacity vest full of more ammo.  Best part about the whole thing was every single item I listed that they gave me was in pristine condition.

     

    I made sure to ask them why they had been so trusting that I actually was friendly.  They told me they didn't trust me until the end.  That's when one pulled out an MP5 from his backpack and the other pulled out a FNX from his jacket.  We laughed about it then we said our pleasantries and parted ways.

     

    Today it paid to be friendly.

    Before you enter a danger area dump your gear in an easily remembered spot and only take with you what you need to have.  This is especially effective just after a server reset.  This way if you get schwacked while in the danger area there is  a good chance you can make your way back to it and it will still be there if you were not under survaillence before hand.  I have saved rucksacks full of ammo boxes, first aid kits, and other handy stuff along with a mosin and a pistol.

     

    I tend to grab a ruck in the danger area to fill up.

     

    I kind of did this, dumped my mosin with a truck load of ammo, ended up coming back like 15-20 min later and killing like 3 bandits! (A good catch to me)

    Can people from EU play on US/AU servers?

    I'm from serbia,and most of my servers are GER GER GER GER ... some may be british/french/polish,..im wondering,how can i connect to US servers...

     

    Just out of interest, why would you want to connect to a US server from Serbia, surely your ping is going to be, well... OVER 9000

    Sorry, only crappy reference I could think of...

    I mean really? happened to me 3 times in last 24 hours.. cant believe its this isn't fixed and/or is this common.

    So after running around all day and finding decent loot (good pants, jacket, bag, tac-vest, magnum and a SKS) I'm like I think I'll run up to that airfield I keep hearing about. so I run through the wood for hours thinking to myself Suns on my right it's about mid-morning clearly that's the east! and then I see a really familiar looking fire station, oh snap a compass............ GTF outa here I'm in Elektro! Do they plan on fixing the sun any time soon? I'm not super mad the server I'm on spawned me way north it would seem so I'm ok with that. But yeah at least I found a compass

     

    I never even knew it was broke, I have used the sun to navigate on multiple occasions, worked out fine for me, are you sure you did everything right?

    So I am playing DayZ and I survive a few zombie ambushes. (I know, I am badass right?) and the last zombie hurt my leg _zombieglomp__by_MisterIngo.gif and it continues to say 'my leg is in pain' and this bothers me because from my research my leg will eventually break, right?

    So I ate a lot of my resources as well as found a well and maxed out my consumption, now my statues says 'energized, hydrated, stuffed, and, healing'.

     

    If I continue to keep myself in good condition as my leg continues to be annoying and not ever heal, will it just always be in pain? I suspect it won't break if I do just keep my HP up. I don't want it to break so I am not taking any chances Crawling____by_TheRockster.gif

     

    In any case, I don't want to start all over again anyway, so if anyone can answer me the question above, I might as well continue playing until I find some morphine or pain killers.

     

    Otherwise, (a bit of a risk but) can someone give me some morphine please _sad__by_cookiemagik-d2zpwkb.gif

     

    No this isn't an invitation for bandits to come and shoot me instead. I maybe taking this game a little too seriously lol

     

    Like Mystic Bagel said, rag and some sticks, craft a splint and watch the DayZ gods do there work!

    hey

     

    today i gained some items while looting. Now everytime i use an item (doesn't matter what) my game crashes.

    It crashes when i try to apply my shovel, or use a drink or look at the map.

     

    Is there a way to start over completely, cause this way i can barely play the game..

     

    Try killing yourself, or re-installing the game, maybe mess around with some settings?

    4. You're a hero, you enjoy helping people when you can. You come across two coastal new starters with weak melee weapons, who for the most part generally seem like they just spawned. You make your presence known and offer food, clothes and some other materials to get by. You notice as you offer your services that one of them has FNX45 which they pull out and aim towards your direction. You survive the encounter as your items are robbed from you but they forgot to take your 1911 pistol and the magazine which was inside it. They run off and turn their backs to you. What do you do?

     

    Simple, I wait, track them from far away, watch what they do and where they go, try to find a better weapon along the way and then hold then, kill one of them, make the other fill with panic, and then hold the other one up, take one item and tell him never to f**k with a hero.

    Simple!

    I am sure that this has been mentioned somewhere before but I couldn't find a topic. Many of you may already know this but some probably don't.

     

    You find The Big Dipper which will be usually low on the horizon and draw an imaginary line to the first bright star which will be Polaris aka the North Star so you can also determine W,E and S. You may have to get up on higher ground to find The Big Dipper and obviously it will only work with no or few clouds. Just handy to know if you don't have a compass.

    I was hoping we can have a thread similar to the book trading thread. Simply put up what you have to trade and what you want.

    Up for trade I have;

    - 3 SKS 20round ammo boxes. (Pristine)

    - 1 SKS 10 round clip. (Pristine/full)

    - 2 Mosin Compensators. (Pristine/Worn)

    - 2 M4 Hand guard RIS. (Pristine)

    - 1 PU Scope. (Pristine)

    - 1 Handcuff.

    - 1 Sewing kit. (Worn)

    Looking for;

    - Green Ushanka. (Condition does not matter)

    - Walkie Talkie/ Radio. (Worn or Pristine)

    This pertains to my hardcore character.

     

    A nice concept, but face it, this is DayZ

    Hello everyone

     

    As far as I knew it was not possible to glitch through walls in the ATCs. Is this something new, or is it infact an old issue not fixed yet. Reason I asked is that I got shot by people at NEAF who where in the walls. When I tried to get away they walked out from the wall on the west side and killed me.

     

    Thought I'd post about it since its so freaking frustrating. Oh well I can always just stay away from NEAF until wall glitches is fixed....

     

    Been killed by that glitch on multiple occasions, that's why I've gone back to the mod (and other reasons)

    I have been impressed by the way day z makes you think about your actions. The other day I killed for the first time.

     

    I was typing a message to a friend on stream when my character starting making noises. I got back into game and some guy was punching me for no reason so I had to shoot him (I have no issue with this kill).

     

    10 min later, I was running down a road in a town and came across 3 guys all running towards me about 100 m away with guns out. I jumped behind a building and then poked my head around the corner to see them stood in the road about 50m away looking around. they looked threatening so I shot one of them and he died. The other two ran away. I did not go near the body because I feared a trap/reprisals.

     

    What is everyones view on the morality of this? I probably could have run away/hid, and have pondered this since it happened. They did seem to be a significant threat however...how would you have dealt with this situation?

     

    I played the mod for over a year, and standalone for over 200 hours, I have killed and been killed countless times, I have tried every approach I could think of towards DayZ, there was only one I really enjoyed though. Bandit. (And only surviving on beans for as long as I can)

    Are there any plans to be able to chamber rounds by hitting 'R' instead of having to manually go into the menus manually..... when you don't have a magazine for example?

     

    The point of having to chamber a bullet from your inventory, rather than hitting "r" is to enhance realism, maybe it's to make it longer and to build more tension rather than having to just hit "r", and having the game do it for you!

     

    Anyway, that's my opinion...

    it look like what rocket want to do is have screen clear no indicate of food and drink situation only some small text what explain the health and this is great because I like to have clean screen and no distract, maybe in the future he will find a cleverer way of making health know by other way for example sound of bad breather for tiredness and itchy throat coffing for need of water and maybe 'urgh ahhh' sound when I am bleed from the gun.

     

    so please explain WHY THE BIG PARAGRAPH OF RED TEXT TO SAY EVERYTIME WHEN SOMEONE LEAVE THE SERVER??????

     

    why I need to know?

    why I have to see this and leave the immersion state because ?????? TIMERED OUT???

     

    how to stop this USELESS IMMERSION KILL SCREEN POLLUTER MESSAGE??

     

    is way to stop or maybe the devs can make new code because this shit don't help only take away from the magic what is dayz when I am immerse 100%

     

    I don't want any text is not relate to my character life except direct chat message from the player

     

    If the messages are that big on your screen, then you need to get a new monitor, because it sounds like you have one small ass screen!
