Perhaps I expressed myself badly, but I was referring to plate vest, not press. I wonder if my glove drought might have something to do with CLE zoning. In the west/north west (between, say Sosnovka and Tisy), there continue to be none. Quite possible that there are some unintended CLE consequences going on. -

I play all public. I guess at the start I was expecting something like the loot frequency that we're used to - or at least the possibility of luck - but there is a distinct downturn this patch (note: I'm not complaining..). I just don't bother with Veresnik, and NWAF isn't much better. M4s are actually pretty common at Tisy - probably the gun I see there most frequently. But attachments seem pretty rare. Good to hear that gloves are in. Guess I've just been extremely unlucky. Red, if I still haven't found any in a couple of days, I'll try to tempt you from your spaceship :) -
I really like the wind sounds - gives a much stronger sense of 'being outside' and of a harsh environment. But I agree with OP that the ambient sound is a little too loud...

Yes, usually western and northern. But there are other classic spots like Bashnya, or the rocks in the far south east. I'm not convinced people will have had time to amass big stashes yet though. Mil loot seems much rarer. If you're running to Tisy or NWAF expecting an El Dorado of FALs, M4s and SMERSH vests, think again. -

Most of the privately rented public servers are complete kick-fests after a new patch. Happily that can't be the case with .62 because they're different chars... OP, the other option if you want great gear is to go and find the tent/barrel stashes that the hoppers create. I find if one can summon the requisite patience this is usually the best option - certainly was for me in .61. Stashes should be starting to appear about now-ish. Look at the map and visit some of the areas you think might be good candidates. Oh, and bear in mind that the changes to foliage may have had an effect on this. -

Unlike you to give up so easily. Yes, I have to jimmy it a bit to get it to fullscreen sometimes too, but in DayZ terms this is nothing. I'm really liking this patch. Enough to go out and buy a new rig for. Probably.

You can make a stone knife very easily and it will do everything (?) a proper knife will do. BTW, new chars spawn with flares, so not that attractive a trade item tbh.

Bear in mind that characters are also not persistent between public 'official' servers and public privately-rented ones. So don't be surprised if your char on (eg) "DayZ NJ 2-2" is not the same as that on "DayZ Insert-inane-phrase-here". That said, this is a wonderful patch - probably the most immersive the game has been for me in some time. Oh, and blackhead has gone!

I get new chars whenever I switch between public official servers too (if by that, we mean UK 5-71, NJ 1-14, etc). Oh well, at least no one will be losing much good gear... -

Not true. 54-55-56 didn't, and I distinctly remember others as well in the 40s. Whatever, really loving this patch. The new look (retaining decent FPS) is great.

This. The force of the throw is proportionate to the length of time that you hold down the bind key (G in my case). If you just press it, whatever you're carrying will either drop at your feet or you'll do a weedy ass chuck. Sorry if this isn't the case OP, but the same thing has caught others out.

Desperately seeking FAL mags. Or, speaking as a Brit of a certain age, can I say L1A1 SLR mags.... I want to do some PvP before .61 dies completely, and would really appreciate two or three mags. Ideally full ones, but that's not an absolute requirement. To trade, I have fully decked M4s and pretty much anything else you could mention including full SVD mags, AK101s, UMPs, mil tents, full plate carriers, etc. The only things I don't have are SVDs or SMERSH vests. Thanks.

Boozing and Chernarus do not mix. A couple of weeks ago I came back from the pub, started 'exploring' around to the west of Tisy, logged in next day, no idea where I was, two separate wolf pack encounters, 80 rounds of 5.56 expended...
