It's a lot better than it was four days ago. A lot... The main annoyance for me now is the day/night thing.

I've seen a few in the red two-storey houses. Also in large industrial buildings. No sure why this is evidence of a 'flawed' loot system tbh…

Yes. Same. Plus dying horribly, and embarrassingly to zombies as my screen locked up. The browser is better than it was, but those day/night indicators aren't worth the pixels they're made of. I think these reviews are pretty fair tbh.

I caught it (or at least some kind of infection) from drinking water from a river in desperation as a freshie. Started looking for tetracyclin, but then whatever it was just went away on its own. Charcoal, epi, tincture shouldn't work (and drinking tincture is probably a bad idea anyway...). Tetra should work, but there are some reports saying it has no effect. It may be probability-based. Or, interestingly, there may be more than one type of disease; such as viral and bacterial. Times like this I miss Wobo. Edit: wait, you caught it from another player? If so that's a good mechanic.

I'm getting that too. Might mean a patch, so quitting and reopening the game could help.

On Stable. Have; full spec KA-M (W), with rail guard, poly stock, flashlight, suppressor, Kobra and PSO-1 (all P), three full mags and change. Seeking M4 in any condition other than R (obvs). I'm a trusted and experienced trader. Thanks

Definitely encountered a snow shower on stable about an hour ago. Either that, or rain is seriously bugged...

Tetracycline pills? The accepted wisdom many patches ago was that there were two types - one severe which would pretty much kill you whatever you did, and one more minor, which you would probably survive (especially with tetracycline and proximity to a water pump). PS I'm not sure it's a virus is it? It should be a bacterium (just being pedantic), or antibiotics wouldn't work on it...

I understand your saltiness - really I do. You would not believe what I've been through over the past three days... You just have to be philosophical about it.

I think Guy has a point about hoodies and freshie pants. The other side of the equation is why a baseball hat has to occupy six spaces...

I got that too. All servers became 'bad version'. Closed and restarted the game, looked like a little update. When I logged in I was bleeding to death and severely dehydrated. Bandaging with two rags did the trick. I think I lost some gear, but nothing major.

God knows the game isn't in easy mode at the moment, but that has its own rewards. When they took out some of the water pumps in .63 I was a bit pissed off because it screwed one of my usual routes inland, via Nadezhdino. You just plan differently and change your style a little. And if there's one thing to get salty about, it's probably not availability of food and water.

Looks like post-weekly maintenance, a lot of the stable servers are back up. Silver lining - I now have two chars...

Hmmm, the numbers have been very up and down all day. Now it seems Multiplay are introducing a very large number of public servers - but they're all passworded for the time being. Plus, now the game rejects Exp servers as 'bad version', but the browser won't let me exclude them. That said, the browser does seem a little better.

That's a bit vindictive. Things may be in a state at the moment, but the only people who are going to make them better are the devs.

Yes, I saw that and suspected there might be a connection. But these weren't 'extra' servers. They were vanilla stable servers. So perhaps BI have disconnected many more than was the intention.

I'm about the same - 90ish. Strangely, the small number of stable ones are all high pings in what I think are places like Australia... All the old UK, US, DE regulars (GameServers, etc) have disappeared.

Hehe - yeah. Or the first .55 (IIRC), where the CLE was changed to almost completely remove food and people died in their droves. At least with those patches people could actually play the game. Which is pretty difficult right now.

The stable server count has bottomed out. Something happened on or just after the weekend where they disappeared. The remaining player base (including me) is just playing on the experimental hive.

Seems wrong to me. They are definitely not on the 'stable' hive. I have different chars on each, and the 'experimental' one is consistent across experimental servers. This is really bad, and the complete lack of response from BI should be noted.

I agree that all those 'DayZ is dead' videos are self-congratulatory BS. But have you tried playing the game today?

The reason you can do this is because the server browser and the servers themselves, are totally screwed. The old 'public hive' stable servers have, as of now, almost disappeared - at least if my totally dysfunctional browser is anything to go by (and don't even bother filtering by 'version' in the browser, because it won't do it. So it seems most people are playing on unstable hives. It is simply not worth playing the game as of now. And we used to complain about persistence not working...

Same here. On Monday, there were 290 available servers - even though a serious proportion of them were Unstable/Experimental (which appear to still be on a different hive). Now there are around 50, and almost all of them are US Unstable servers, with a few German ones (which seem to be on yet another hive, or just unconnected). As a result I, and a lot of other people, are playing on the Unstable hive. Or I assume it's the unstable hive, because I can't find a stable server to check. It doesn't matter how bad the server browser is (and it's just...terrible), or how many other bugs there are (and there are legions of them); the game is unplayable if there are no servers. Oh, and yes, let's just rename the game 'NightZ' and be done with it.
