I agree. Day before the wipe I'm gonna go on a high pop server and go a bit nuts - as I'll have nothing to lose, and may as well have a blast.

I found three unlooted UH-1Ys in a row last night, so I've picked up everything on my wanted list. I guess a 60rnd mag or a hi-cap (pref olive), or a couple of protectors would be nice.

Did someone sort you out for a mag? Also, I don't really understand this "holding trades til the wipe" mentality. It's your gear, but what's the point of that? It'll all be gone anyway, so no advantage to you.

We don't really need more per server. We just need to drop the pathetic Russian crash sites and ensure the crash sites in general work properly on persistent servers. Anyway, I voted persistence (because it would transform the game) with fps a close second. -
My sympathies. I know that feeling. As all the heli hunters are on zero, or low pop p:off servers, the chances of bumping into someone are that much greater. However, it is odd the way that so many of my assailants seem to turn up exactly when I do.

We already have an informal version of this in the trading thread, based on people's signatures (eg mine below). If we trade successfully they get a reference in the sig. If the worst happens, that too is reflected. Of course this all depends on someone's not being able to change their fundamental identity, such as a second or new Steam ID. -
I noticed a dev update from Brian that refers to "move forward with January's stable branch update (0.53)" though. As this is the last update in January, I wonder...

On one hand, we'd normally be told in advance about a new patch, and that hasn't happened to the best of my knowledge (and there have been some problems with 0.53 on Experimental). On the other, the servers have been down for a while now and people are getting a little antsy. I wonder if a dev or mod could update the community on what's up?

If you mean this morning/now, that might have something to do with the fact that all the servers seem to be down following weekly maintenance. So you'll just have to wait a bit...

Ballistic Helmet vs Gorka Helmet?

Motorbike helmets will protect you in melee, but not from gunshots. Ballistic helmets will not protect you from melee, but will protect against gunshots from 300m and over (but not less). I'm not sure Gorkas do either. -

Yeah. Was all my own fault - I broke my own "don't go upstairs" rule and overran the second floor of the barn. Must have been a 1 metre drop ffs... So I'm out until the next wipe I guess.

It sucks a bit (which is why I've given up on them), but certainly not for those reasons (as Munson says). The downs for me are the heat build up and the lack of a backpack.

"Informed" by whom, exactly? This rumour keeps going around. I think devs have confirmed a wipe for Q1, but haven't seen anything about this Wednesday. A bit more notice would be expected, and we had a lot more than this with the 0.49 wipe.

No, you get me right. 'God boxes' were duped and nested (think x8) ammo and protector cases, full of just about everything you'd need and then sold (for cash) by dupers and hackers a little while ago. That was a pretty low stage of the game. I thought they'd disappeared. Perhaps Honey-B means something else.

Not sure that's true about the ballistic. There's more than one account of people being shot in the head (from a distance) and surviving with a ballistic. Sure, they get knocked out and the helmet's ruined, but it does sometimes save lives. -
