It would have given me notice (and perhaps half the p(l)ayerbase) to sort our stuff out. Seeing as you've had some kind of pathetic relapse, we've had warnings of persistence wipes countless times. Not this time. Because Brian and Eugen cocked it up. So far I've had 'you were warned'. Nope And we've had 'don't get attached to your gear!' Snore...even though those who say it were laughing at the same 24 hours ago. Oh and then 'they've apologised'. Nope. Come on, we all love the game, but this was a fuckup. It doesn't take much to admit it, but you can't even do that.... -

Oh come on Odin, you're a good contributor here, but...'don't get attached to your gear'? Really? I see no evidence of a notice for a persistence wipe, and you have not provided one. 'We...knew' is BS. It was a crappy thing to do. If Eugen or Brian had any courtesy, they'd apologise. I test theories all the time in my job - slightly more important ones than this. And if I didn't warn people about the effects of what I was doing in advance, I'd be in a shit-ton of trouble. -

Well, it could in a way. Yesterday evening I deliberately left my perfectly kitted M4, SVD, mags, pristine attachments,and a whole range of other things like fishing hooks, seeds, that I wanted to use to explore the game mechanics in my barrels. I had a Blaze and 20 rounds on me - fancied a little hunting trip. Now that's all I have.

Where? If I'm wrong I'll be happy to admit it, but pics please, etc. BI's community communications has gone to the dogs. There are a buttload of basic things they didn't tell us about 0.58 (though I was, briefly a fan of it) and they certainly didn't tell us persistence would be wiped today. For the next 24 hours, good job getting on a clan server, as they re-farm, re-gear, re-kick. The lone wolves will pay the price, as BI hide behind the alpha fanboys (whose post count, I note, is suspiciously low). -

To those like Mr Korn who say notice unneeded, Alpha, blah, I say this isn't about Alpha - it's about straightforward customer consideration. On your logic, what would the point be of BI ever giving us wipe warnings? They could have held the update until Wednesday when they realised. Nothing to do with Alpha. -

As far as I can make out, all persistent items on stable have been wiped, with zero notice. I can't tell for sure until I get home, but if you had a stash/barrels/tents/truck on stable, it's gone. I'd be very happy to be wrong about this. -

I was in travel/hunting mode as well, having stashed my M4, SVD, tons of pristine mags, attachments and other gear in six barrels. Lot of work went into that. Am pissed off with BI. -
Well....they aren't impassable - you just have to understand the mechanics. 'Server hopping' is a bit of a spectrum tbh.

I know everyone will shout alpha at me, but I think we were owed at least some kind of notice - like doing it on Wednesday with regular maintenance perhaps? -
You could have: 1. Filleted and skinned the body (as advised above) 2. Logged out and back in to a zero- or low-pop (frowned upon, but perhaps excusable in the circumstances) 3. Hidden the body (?)

It definitely didn't work for me on either a 101 or a 74 (both with pristine rail guards) the last time I tried it, a few days after the patch. so either: 1. It's been fixed (?) 2. He's confused 3. He's using a technique for doing it that no one else has come up with. -

Hmm. Well if the lag occurs within a 1km distance, the method is probably to run from your camp in a determined direction until you definitely detect the lag ending. Then run back to your camp and do the same in a different direction, and so on. On the other hand just run around a bit with your eyes peeled... -

Also worth bearing in mind that the Blaze is possibly better as a sniper option because it has less recoil and no bolt reload between its (two...) shots
