I couldn't even get a refund on No Man's Sky after three weeks, and you want one after three years? Most warranties don't even last that long :P

I prefer 1PP myself, but honestly, I hope it never gets enforced in any way. The majority of people seems to prefer 3PP for various reasons, hence why 3PP servers are vastly more populated. Why would you want to alienate them to placate a minority who already have their dedicated servers? I don't really get why people keep insisting using 3PP is somehow against the spirit of the game. It's been in 3PP since the mod was first released. If you don't want to face people who use 3PP, don't play on those servers. But don't call those people noobs or lamers or whatever.

Where are you Guys findings hunting scopes on 0.61 stable?
sachad replied to chrhein's topic in General Discussion
I found a scoped Trumpet in one of those multi-storied barns. -
We've all experienced it. We are just going about Chernarus, minding out own business, when we stumble across somebody else's camp. Maybe it's a single tent or a barrel with some useful but basic goodies in it that a lone wanderer could not carry with them. Maybe it's a sprawling base rivalling Tent City in size, with an arsenal that could see you overthrow a small country by yourself. What do you do? What are your own personal rules to raiding camps? Do you pick the place clean and smash everything you couldn't take? Do you leave their stuff untouched, unwilling to profit from another person's work? Do you take a few things here and there based on your immediate needs? Do you use the 'take a penny, leave a penny' principle and leave some stuff behind as 'payment' for what you took? Most importantly, do you leave a thank you note? Tell us here! For me, it mostly depends on the camp. The first camp I found was a tent in the woods with an oil barrel, and nothing inside except a bunch of cooked deer steaks, water bottles, clothing and tools, and an SKS with no ammo. So I took a hatchet, a water bottle and a few steaks and left my PU scope and two stacks of SKS ammo since I had no use for it at the time, plus a note detailing the 'exchange' and my sincerest (well not really) apologies. Yesterday, however, I found a big camp at the camo building just north of the NWAF tent city. It had a dozen military tents and as many small ones, filling up the whole premises. I stopped counting the guns at thirty-ish. Thousands of rounds, of every conceivable type, and the magazines to put them in. Attachments up the wazoo. Grenades, smoke bombs, mines and bear traps. Military clothing from Gorka to USMC. And a freakin' sword. Just hoarding for the sake of it. So, I spent some time there, taking my pick of all the good stuff, and then I took all the mines they had and booby-trapped nearly every military tent.

I have a friend like that. If he picks up an M4 and manages to get it working, he'll usually die within the next 30 minutes, either getting killed or somehow killing himself. I think the idea of owning one makes him too anxious to function properly. One time he just walked right off a building while aiming down the sight.

After heading up to the camo building just north of the NWAF tents to use the water pump, I found that someone had plastered the entire area with military and small tents, full of lovely lovely loot. At leat 15 military and as many smaller tents. Long story short, now I have two brand new guns with ALL the trimmings, including a functioning SVD which is something I've never had before, plus all the food and gear, and a freaking sword! :). It's sad I couldn't find a pen in any of the tents, I would've left a thank you note. On a side note, why do people always collect a dozen landmines and bear traps if they're not going to use them to defend their base? Now half a dozen military tents have mines at the entrance, and they are hidden well :) I'll check back in a couple hours, see if anyone's been exploded yet.

Is it Possible for 3PP to NOT be Overpowered?
sachad replied to Kohlbar's topic in General Discussion
Eh... IMO, if you're on a server that offers 3PP, you don't get to complain about people using it as a dirty trick to get the upper hand. If you don't want them to use drone-cam to spot you, play on Hardcore (inb4 'there are barely any hardcore servers!') -

Not to sound pedantic, but this is pretty old news. It's literally the first thing I do when spawning, even before chucking my road flare :P Still, never hurts to advertise the basics for the new folks. -
I have the same problem, even after confirming Steam is running stable branch and not experimental, it keeps failing to connect. I haven't played in months but I'm sure I have the proper update installed.

I knew I'd never be that lucky ;)

I think it might be nice, yes. A good compromise between player identification and immersion, akin to the arm bands but more fleshed-out. edit: one con I can think of is the free-hand drawing opening the door to a lot of trolling and childish shenanigans. Think swastikas, dick badges and other such nonsense.

I feel your pain but I feel obligated to tell you that that is the best damn DayZ quote I ever heard and I'm still in stitches as I'm typing this five minutes after reading.

Got on .59. Went to Cherno. Got attacked by an axe-wielding idiot within the first two minutes. Left Cherno with a brand new axe.

Did you have room in the inventory to put the empty mag? So far as I know the quick reload works with pretty much any type of gun, including ammo clips, speedloaders and snaploaders. Even the flare gun, IIRC.
