Because Spanel is a moron. Let's talk about the decision to move cars server side. Let's talk about the revolving door the employees face. Let's talk about how they've made a blame circle with BattleEye so that their horseshit game will always be infested with nefarious players. Let's talk about how development was stifled for years because they couldn't even hire an entry level animator. Promises Broken. We're still in development. I joined this stupid forum 10 years ago and we're still in development. BI is the poster child for garbage LLCs. -
Bro, they stopped using the term "CLE" like, 7 years ago. Most points here are okay. Running through the forest is still like a video game, and nowhere near real life.

Stopping cheaters completely is 100% unrealistic. There's no way that BI should be expected to win the battle on this front. Billion dollar companies have been taken hostage by bad actors across the globe. All run by state sponsored organizations. BI cannot take on all of Iran, Russia and China, among others, to put an end to such an insignificant thing like cheating in online gaming. We can hope for advancements in AI cheater detection and IP bannings, but unless you can provide incentive for incels to not purchase cheating tools, then it will always exist. In any game. Go reread what Orlok wrote.

Remove Bottle Suppressors and rework actual suppressors.

Ever since crossbows were added, I've felt that suppressors should be brought further closer to reality. Suppressors really should have limited effectiveness, imo. -

Okay, so, I saw the title of this thread. You know, the only one in the sub forum, on the official website. The title has FaQ in it. I clicked on the FaQ thread. I read the words and watched the video like, five times. Dint see any questions or answers. When is this turd gonna drop? I'm thinking of coming back but I'm waiting to see gameplay first. Could you please post the exact release date in the 'FaQ'? Obviously you've known the exact date since May. The plan has always been to release at a set date and then fix everything. Been that way since the circus moved out of spanels garage. This a necessary and active sub forum. 100%.

Right. Way back when I bought the game during alpha (.2x release, or so) I was promised that ballistics would be realistic. This was a huge selling point by Dean and team. This selling point was why I gave up money. Can I get my money back now?

I would have subscribed to a subscription model. Fire and forget servers always get ruined. Cheaters need a proactive approach. This should have been obvious to a young computer building nerd, in his garage, with his brother, in Czechoslovakia, thirty years ago. Or any time since. Where's the AI anti-cheat?

It is possible that you are not saving the settings properly. The interface does have a history of being sort of convoluted. good luck.

The game was released so long ago, I agree. And it is still this way!!! We are obligated to assume, at this point, that it is intentional. Surely, because it has been so long, that this balancing question has already arisen and has been addressed. There’s no way this could be an oversight. I’m not willing to accept lame excuses like “they haven’t gotten to it yet” or some other similar response. Maybe three years ago, after official launch, but don’t you think we’re way beyond that at this point? And if I were to accept your reasoning anyway, I could easily argue that this player should have known this ‘unfinished’ game operated like this and should have planned ahead and un jammed his gun ahead of time. Like, before you put anything else into your hand, your firearm should be your priority.

Ok then. You don’t understand the difference between authentic and realistic. There’s a good reason you can’t stop the action. It’s because it was decided, one way or another, that it shouldn’t be in the game. It’s obvious that it’s not a priority because here we are, years into release and it’s not there. Probably even a conscious decision during countless waves of balancing that have been happening for quite some time.

Vanilla official servers would likely have many performance issues with these spawning. And how would you justify not making this a common item then? It’s a great convenience to have, but can the servers handle them. To me, it just seems out of place to have them on vanilla. Codelocks could work with 9 volt batteries, considering how powerful they are in dayz.

It should not automatically be an option. It’s because this game was never intended to be realistic. It’s completely logical in the realm of the authentic. This isn’t reality. It’s a video game. It should be obvious that Dayz doesn’t aim for being realistic. It has zombies. You respawn. People shoot other people without penalty. You can’t shit, piss, or smell. Bohemia Interactive has NEVER claimed that this game was to be realistic. This guy decided to not un-jam his weapon immediately. Or he was already actively engaged in PVP, which moots his point. His death was 100% avoidable, but he chose his actions carelessly. Additionally, some actions are interruptible. It’s up to the survivor to understand and learn about how the game works. There is no doubt that other players know about this “issue” but plan ahead so that they don’t die due to poor firearm management.

So, your weapon was jammed earlier and you didn’t address the issue, even though you had time. So yes, not being careful and not being proactive with preventative maintenance leads to stupid deaths. We don’t really need to change the mechanics. All of the same arguments for inertia apply here.
