Pretty sure trying to be insane means that you're not insane. Clever? Yes.

POLL: Should recently-rendered-unconscious players be able to immediately respawn?
Parazight replied to Grimey Rick's topic in General Discussion
If I'm not enjoying the game then I wont play it. Bohemia wants me to play the game. I'm going to control my own fate here, not be a toy for some ridiculous torture nonsense. The argument that you should have to endure the whims of some attention starved brat on the basis of realism (btw, this game has nothing to do with realism) is the most idiotic thing I've ever heard. The 'realism' argument is totally flawed. This is a game, it's only natural that it can't be 100% real anyway. At some point you have to sacrifice extreme, nonsensical realism to incorporate game mechanics, because, this is a game, not real life. Additionally, there are no gains to be made whatsoever in respawning. When you respawn from unconsciousness you admit defeat. That is actually okay in a survival video game. You admit defeat and start again with nothing. Your experience playing BI's product shouldn't be compromised because someone else is also playing, and playing differently. Not being able to respawn out of a hopeless situation is terrible game design. The only people that have anything to gain by introducing a respawn cooldown are people who are wasting your time. -
[Be nice] How do you torture people in days?

ugg. bullies are cool. amirite? sorry for bickering. Torturing people is something people should talk about nonchalant and casual like. I don't understand which rules any of us broke here. This thread doesn't appear to be all that degenerate from the original poster's topic. However, I'll be done. -

Parazight replied to HeroAtDay BanditAtNight's topic in General Discussion
I like to get into gunfights. I like the risk of getting killed in action in a video game. I like the player versus player competition. I like it when my heart pumps when people shoot at me. I like the paranoia buzz. DayZ is a cool and innovative game. I get to play with friends of mine that have moved across the country. I'm sorry, but I don't need to torture people in a video game in order to have social interaction. I find no fun in that at all and really, it's quite pointless and boring to me. There's no challenge in torturing someone at gunpoint. -

Why would I be mad? That makes no sense. This is a forum where people converse and give their opinions. I see you have snipped a part of my post. Part of it. If you'll carefully read the whole post you would see that I said: You see the part where I say "go ahead" right before the part that you quoted? That means go ahead and do what you want to do. If you need further examples, then look at any of the following posts after that. Please do not try to infer absolute meaning from one vague sentence which you have taken out of context. /sigh Do you see the part where you quoted me in the same post?? it says "don't be insulted by random people on the internet"? That also applies to me. I always take my own advice. What on earth has anyone done to make me upset? I just don't get it. I think I owe you some beans for your sincere troll attempt. -

Where did I ever say any of that?? Try not to make assumptions. Try not to be insulted by something some random guy on the internet says. I gave my opinion. Play however you like, wtf. You wanna waste your time torturing people, go ahead. I don't know about you people, but I go out to the bar or club when I want social interaction. Sorry for the late response, I fell asleep watching your video. -

I never suggested that people play the way *I* like. You wanna waste your time torturing people, go ahead. Just like torturing people in-game, arguing which is more fun is a colossal waste of time. I could argue or agree that killing in DayZ is fun. But once you've beaten someone, what's the point? If you're the victor in a hostile situation then you win. You get their gear. They get to die. Anything else is pointless beyond that. Torturing people is akin to doing a touchdown dance for 10 minutes. Totally pointless and makes you look like a douche. Try to act like you've killed someone before. Try to not look like a total noob. -
The natural de-evolution of tattoos in dayz... tats are a swell idea, but marking other people is where it's at!
-
Screw that. I don't need a fancy ass sword. Give me a sock with a roll of quarters in it and I'm set to unleash a wave of epic douchebaggery.

Helicopter events are temporarily disabled. I'm pretty sure the devs are aware that loot spawns aren't balanced properly. In addition to the mags in cop shops, you can also find ammo off of the corpses of other players.
-
There is no sane gaming company that would deny you the opportunity to play their game. This will never happen as long as companies like money.

I handcuffed a guy at the nwaf: tent city. He had a nice decked out M4 (during .46 stable) and I wanted one. So, after handcuffing him, I took his M4 and mags and shot his friend with it. His friend (AKM dude) and I traded a number of bullets but neither one of us died. I managed to run off a bit and bandage up. I sneak back to where I shot AKM dude and just as I did, he just fixed his broken legs, bandaged, and was standing up as I saw him. So I put two more in his melon to finish the job. I managed to kill 7 people with that M4 the next day before running out of ammo! M4 guy is a friend of my brother that doesn't play much and AKM dude is my brother.

You sound like someone who gets bullied a lot in real life. Torture in DayZ in laughable and boring. Sure, I've been cuffed and held up, but when it starts to get stupid I just change servers and take the respawn. There's no gain in torturing someone other than getting out some of that built up nerd rage. *I* am not a wannabe sociopath, much like some of the writers of the made-up nonsense in this thread. -
This post is good. A perfectly acceptable endgame alternative to pvp. However, helping people and hanging out with buddies in game sounds like it poses no real challenge and would get boring before pvp would. I'm not sure how it holds the consumer's interest. Holding the consumer's interest is what Bohemia Interactive is probably most interested in, yes?
-
I don't think you understand what endgame means in this post's context. Endgame is not what you're doing right now with your character, now that he's geared. Endgame describes what the veteran player does with his time in game. Every game has an endgame. Saying "survival is the only point" totally misses the point. The point is, what will bring you back for more? Why will you keep playing?

What exactly changed about the melee combat in .47 stable?
Parazight replied to omgwtfbbq (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
It IS different, but not bad at all for alpha status. Axes swing a lot faster now. You have to be closer to the zombie to hit it and be much more accurate. Damage values seem the same. Also, you don't have to strafe as far to avoid zombie attacks, it seems. The biggest issue is the Left Mouse Button problem, imo. Overall, combat doesn't seem harder, just different. Today I killed 2 zombies with one swing! That was pretty sweet. -
Have you ever given guns and ammo to freshspawns?
Parazight replied to HeroAtDay BanditAtNight's topic in General Discussion
Oh, I understand. This isn't the mod and things are different, huh. Fawn > Bambi > Buck Newspawn > partially geared > kitted out I'm updating the terminology. <_< <_< -

Parazight replied to HeroAtDay BanditAtNight's topic in General Discussion
Torturing people in DayZ is for people that got bullied as a kid. There's no point in torture at all. Either let the person go or kill them outright. Anything else is pathetic, grade school behavior. -
Have you ever given guns and ammo to freshspawns?
Parazight replied to HeroAtDay BanditAtNight's topic in General Discussion
no. I was a fresh spawn that killed a bambi. Then shortly after I looted the bambi I gave everything I had to another player, who was a fresh spawn. I just waited till said bambi had to reload, then with nothing to lose, I charged and punched him. I don't get it. It's not hard. -

Parazight replied to HeroAtDay BanditAtNight's topic in General Discussion
One time, I killed a bambi as a fresh spawn, took his SKS with ammo, and then decided I wanted to respawn in Berezino. So I gave my stuff to a fresh spawn I found in Novodmitrovsk and had him kill me with it. So, yes. -
Is the update as bad as everyone says?
Parazight replied to d.walker43's topic in General Discussion
Except for the rare left mouse button issue, the game works fine. The caveat is that alpha-dayz requires a pretty nice rig to run smooth like. I've played for several hundred more hours than I'd like to admit, have a nice PC, and rarely encounter the problems that I see other people on the forums are having. /shrug -
Oh jeez. I wish I had a ruble for all the times that I thought to myself that killing a mouth-breathing, illiterate, teenage brat on sight would've been the wiser decision.

Hmm. But some of us sociopaths like killing. Fear has nothing to do with anything. Some of us fear nothing because there is no real loss to be had. One player may hold the point of view that gear is trivial, yet necessary. The best place to acquire gear is off of another player. That same player may look and the game and think: Then, that player meets another fellow player with a completely different point of view. And of course, this invariably leads to more paranoia about losing your gear. So when these two player types interact, someone dies. People are often labeled bandits when in fact, they see it as just a game. People kill others because they know they can't do that in real life. Just because you shoot someone in a video game (that provides the perfect setting for murder) when there is no actual consequences, it doesn't make you a coward. :) <_< Methinks you haven't been playing 'for a while now' if you haven't met anyone yet. If you really have been playing for a substantial amount of time then you're extraordinarily lucky/unlucky (depending on point of view) to not have seen anyone. I will assume then that you play on low pop servers. My advice is to go onto a higher population server and die promptly. Practice dying. The more that you die, the better you'll become at looting/fighting/whathaveyou.

Throw Weapon and Melee Weapon issue?

This is the first time I've had this issue on stable. Previously, I've only had this problem on .47 experimental. -
Throw Weapon and Melee Weapon issue?
Parazight replied to terra_young@hotmail.com's topic in Troubleshooting
I'm honestly surprised they pushed .47 to stable like this. Left mouse button bugs out like it's his job. Combat is nearly impossible. Lots of death to zombies because you can't fight back.
