It's a dev build when people whine about bugs. It's a game when people whine about it being too hard. Really, so, it's a dev build in alpha that has had some balancing so the product is presentable and generates income to fuel further development. Sometimes it's a dev build and sometimes it's a game, depending on your question, I guess.

further away from Wednesday the KOS comes on strong
Parazight replied to Wookieenoob's topic in General Discussion
What you're experiencing is not as intended. This is a private hive bug http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/223597-service-alert-private-shard-persistence/ -
Rich gets richer, the poor gets poorer

Simple solution: use your fists to kill infected. Fire Axe is terrible. Just stand there and go full auto mike tyson to his face. Brass knuckles can one shot civilian zombies. -
What do you think about the new update .55
Parazight replied to Survivor1965's topic in General Discussion
I love this update! You can one shot kill zombies with brass knuckles!!! Also, found a pristine sword at the top of a big yellow crane in berezino this morning. Motorcycle helmets are back!! -
I don't understand the 1pp vs 3pp debate. It is what it is. Everyone shares the good and the bad. No one has an inherent advantage. It's apples and oranges to me. There is no contest, just an additional option. I don't understand the notion that pvp is dying. It's a sandbox with other people and ways to kill other people. The game will always be about pvp. No mmo in the history gaming has ever provided challenging single player pve content. Ever. I challenge anyone to find challenging, single player content in a game where people can group up. Once you learn how to not die from diseases, it will be simple and easy. Pvp is about to get much more interesting with mandatory persistence and land mines/bear traps just around the corner. I'm super stoked for both. For real, this game is all about pvp and the pve elements are there to simply enhance your experience. "Anti-game" lol wut? This is a game. It's not hard and never will be. Please go explain to someone that's actually seen a warzone and real combat that DayZ is an antigame because it's survival is hard.

Excited for the Upcoming Disease & Cold System
Parazight replied to Deathlove's topic in General Discussion
I'm exited for the new system, for sure. It's not going to stop people from killing each other by any noticeable difference, however. The PVE elements are only a distraction from the real danger: other people. Especially during production, surviving PVE elements is going to be tuned down anyway, to test functionality. I can see it now over skype. "Hey bro, I got some orange disease bar" "Oh. Drop your stuff and respawn" "I'll hang onto your stuff." "Okay." Problem Solved. -
I sense the birth of mod right there.

Yea. I like how sniping makes the OP foam at the mouth. So much so that he disregards any form of paragraph breaks. Keep fightin' the good fight, sir. /salute

Giving people, (mainly Fresh spawns) an incentive to...survive.
Parazight replied to IgnitionKn1fe's topic in Suggestions
Game balancing is typically done during the beta stages. The things you are asking for cannot be done until other game systems are implemented. Workarounds are possible, but not really practical. Once persistence is mandatory, it will be a step forward towards fixing the 'problems' you face. -
Your favorites OSTs / songs while playing DayZ
Parazight replied to spaggiari's topic in General Discussion
No music here. Most of the time I play on full, private servers only, so full awareness is pretty much required. If you're asking because you're trying to select music to play in-game, don't. Don't play music in-game. :P -
SKS for full frontal yolo mode. AKM when I don't want to die.

What do yu want in DayZ servers these days?
Parazight replied to sneakydudes's topic in General Discussion
Mandatory Persistence. Even if it would mean frequent wipes, minimal loot, no events, and whatever. Endgame spawnpoints. Would like to see player spawn points finalized. Basically, I want to spawn on the map wherever I may spawn when the final product is released. I think adjusting spawn points for metrics each update release isn't the best approach. These two things together is what I am looking forward to the most. I believe that once these two systems are in place, devs will be able to evaluate environment/loot balance properly. -
I'm a complete noob to PC gaming and Dayz...

Keep at it. Don't fear death. Figure it out on your own. It's better that way. And more rewarding. -

Nerves of steel. Who stays cool in life threatening situations?
Parazight replied to too-easy's topic in General Discussion
Doctors don't really know all that much about the human brain organ. It's WAY too complex to analyze and apply to Dayz. I don't have any evidence to back this up other than what a neurologist from Harvard told me once. anyway... I miss the panic days. I miss the days where I don't know where the hell I am in-game. Those were the days. When the game was fresh and you're still discovering how everything works, where stuff is, best ways to do things, learning mechanics, etc. I came back to this game after a 6 month break and I still love it. But the panic is gone. After several encounters where I panicked and wound up dead, I decided to change my gameplay style a bit. I spent a few months just getting into fist-fights and melee combat with other new spawns. I challenged myself to see how many times I could get killed by other players in one game setting. I knew that like in the other mmos that I play, the more that I die, the less it will bother me. It really works! Become desensitized! I encourage you to try this! The side benefit is that you really learn how to gear up as a fresh spawn quite efficiently! Also, learning how to melee combat is fun and useful. When you don't care about dying in-game, you will keep a level head. Try gearing up just by looting the corpses of other players! Now, please don't read this as a reason to KOS. You don't benefit at all by killing noobs and bads. Leave those poor souls alone, they still have to learn to not die to stairs. Seek out those players who like to fight. Believe me, they're there. Overcome fear by dying as much as possible. It's Alpha! -
How many times have you been killed by a server hopper?
Parazight replied to Insane Ruffles's topic in General Discussion
Wait, you want me to re-read -this- thread to understand what server hopping means? Laughable. Server hopping is logging off of one server and jumping onto another. That's it! Your definition of server hopping has been tailor made to make it seem what you do is okay. No, I don't feel like a hypocrite. If I have said anything to insult you then I'm sorry. In fact, I challenge you to point to any post where I've said anything to attack you and not your posts. This is the thread YOU started. It's your responsibility to keep it civil if you want it to stay that way. People understand exactly what you've said and reply appropriately. Yet you seem to attack people for not agreeing with you. -

Parazight replied to Insane Ruffles's topic in General Discussion
Really dude? You can't expect people to act civilized when you are not. Let's review some quotes by you in this very thread. You can't talk this way and expect your thread to remain civilized. It's pretty hard to sway someone into your line of thinking by insulting them in the above ways. Your idea of server hopping has been carefully sculpted to exclude yourself, somehow. What you're doing is server hopping. Even if you think you are doing it in an honorable way. Still server hopping. -
How many times have you been killed by a server hopper?
Parazight replied to Insane Ruffles's topic in General Discussion
Nonsense. You don't need gear to pvp. I jump on a high pop private server all the time with the intention of getting into newspawn fist fights. That's pvp at its most balanced and finest. I'll die many times, even to people who just spawn in carrying M4s, but that wouldn't justify running to the forums and crying about it. A new spawn with a chambered CR75 can take down a fully kitted M4 dude. Gear is irrelevant. -

Parazight replied to Insane Ruffles's topic in General Discussion
I understand perfectly what your issue is. You don't want people logging in next to you in a 'room you already cleared.' But yet you server hop. You don't want immersion to be broken. This is mindbogglingly ridiculous. The solution to your 'problem' is to play only on private servers. It's so obvious to everyone but you. Guess what. The game is in alpha. Because the game is in alpha, any argument based on immersion is automatically worthless. They haven't even implemented everything yet. It's not hard to understand. Don't be so narrowminded. It's a terrible argument to begin with. And you keep changing your original post. And the community at large disagrees with you. And it's a totally avoidable problem you're whining about. Just play on private shards. And in my opinion, it's not immersion breaking. It's how video games work. You'll never be so immersed that you'll forget that you're playing a game. -
How many times have you been killed by a server hopper?
Parazight replied to Insane Ruffles's topic in General Discussion
So, the whole point of this thread according to the OP's edited opening post is that immersion has been broken. Give me a break. You clearly change servers based on population in order to loot. This doesn't break immersion but somehow other people doing it breaks immersion. Your entire argument is weak and nonsensical, at best. Additionally, no one cares that you died in game. Edit: to answer your question: I have been killed zero times by server hoppers since private shards became available because I only play on high population private servers. -

With that same line of thinking, I'm going to go out and buy a Picasso so that my 8 year old can color on it. This ain't 'Nam. There are rules. -
good story. would read again! :)

meh. Dying is pretty irrelevant. One time, while rummaging around NWAF tents with my brother and RL friend, I decided to shoot my own brother just to evoke a response from our friend. The biggest failure, in my opinion, was that after our friend watched me shoot my own brother, he didn't retaliate and kill me. I really wanted my friend to kill another player (me) because he hadn't done so previously. Is this wrong? Yes, if you get attached to your gear. No, if you realize that learning how to play and being able to pull the trigger without hesitation or fear is much more important. You should thank this bandit-guy for teaching you an important lesson in (dayz) life!

Have you ever run into the only other guy on the server?
Parazight replied to IgnobleBasterd's topic in General Discussion
This happens a lot while server hopping. Hasn't happened once since I started playing on private/full servers. :P
