It may help to be more specific. Was there an error code? Did it mention which missing files? Sometimes closing steam in the systray and waiting 30 seconds helps.

Power generator needs way more love + other way of charging electrical devices
Parazight replied to Stalker z Czarnobyla's topic in Suggestions
Maybe you should check out some mods. The generator already has more uses. Like fridges. vehicle alternator and battery charger both work fine on vanilla servers to recharge batteries. Being careful results in not having issues. -
No. Using cheating software, even 'out of curiosity' is bad. You knew the software could get you in trouble but you decided to use it anyway. Enjoy your ban. Nobody on these forums can do anything about bans anyway.

Zombies/Infected Level of Awareness
Parazight replied to BushWookie_244's topic in General Discussion
I made a list of must have things in every great infected. 1. Likes long walks on the coast. 2. Must have a load primal scream 3. Enjoys brains over-easy. 4. "easly" stealth killed. 5. has a beret. -
So, I admit that I only got through half of your post... It IS rather banal. It's the same insipid trolling attempt you've been using for multiple accounts now. Why not mix it up?

Let us lick batteries again to check their charge.
Parazight replied to blueshorts44's topic in Suggestions
This is some sort of troll account/post, right? The amount of charge has always been present. There was never a feature to determine charge by licking. It was just a useless added function that's never existed with the current player controller. -
You expect people to watch a 51 minute video between some streamer and some brand manager (who never visits the official forums)? This is the only way the brand manager can communicate on the official forums? Indirectly through streamer interviews and artsy videos? Sorry but this is a colossal waste of time. I made it through 30 seconds, which is about how much relevant information is likely in this video. We don't need a 51 minute video for 1 minute of information. Your marketing sucks. Try again. I see the lore is still very confused. Why on earth did a programming developer write this article and not the actual brand manager? >.< Edit: can some sucker watch this video for me and post whatever important information is in there? Thanks.

About the problem of the flood of game cheating.
Parazight replied to 10060myed's topic in Suggestions
Yes. To me, the interesting part is wondering if the game would have been more successful (sold many more copies) if some sort of sponsored servers/events were planned from the beginning. Look at how they designed the code. They designed it for unmonitored official servers. A game 'built for modders' would naturally assume custom servers, owned by the community, and with active admin. ON PC. No need to implement security measures in the game code because admins would take care of issues. But no. The code was built for unmonitored official servers. That's why cars are server side. That's why we have BattleEye as a integral part of the blame circle. Just imagine if they had found a way to have had someone administrate their servers. Like, three people. I wonder how many more copies would have been sold. Would've hiring server admins been cost effective? Surely, just firing up a server and setting it afloat is a recipe for disaster. NO ONE can beat the cheaters without active admin. Online criminal behavior is a serious problem worldwide and gaming is only a part of it. It's unreasonable to think BattleEye could ever handle it on their own. Again, the only way to eliminate cheating on these type of fire-and-forget servers is to just shut them down. There are alternatives to official servers, but not alternatives for official servers. -
About the problem of the flood of game cheating.
Parazight replied to 10060myed's topic in Suggestions
Shut down all official servers, imo. Battleye was contracted as the anti-cheat provider. It’s clear that it doesn’t work. BI is also not willing to make changes. Ergo, the only viable solution to eliminate cheating is to eliminate the servers. -
is there any chance to have an DAYZ MOBILE just like an PC open world??
Parazight replied to KuyalongPH's topic in Suggestions
NO CHANCE. -
Will u get banned if you use AutoHotKey?
Parazight replied to Th3Captain's topic in New Player Discussion
yes no Various mods exist for private servers already. Why would you need to make things? -
Personally, I think the darkness is pretty close to ideal, simulation-wise. However, servers going empty is a problem. I'm not sure what the answer is, but craftable NVGs are not a thing in real life. I was only going to suggest putting green and red lights on the vehicles so that we know which way they are flying at night.

"ScottyB," the DayZ PR and Brand Manager doesn't have an account on the DayZ official forums. You'd think the public relations guy would at least have posted here once. I'd be tempted to ask him directly via Direct Message, but I don't know if that's possible. Further, I guess he shows up at the DayZ podcast occasionally. Strange that the PR manager uses a discord channel podcast to relay information to the public, but I guess that's acceptable. I tried to find a point of contact at the Bohemia Interactive website, with no luck. I think some answers to relevant questions are overdue. First, let's point out this article that discusses his podcast conversation. https://www.gfinityesports.com/dayz/2022-roadmap-bohemia-interactive/ So, the first update of the year is now on experimental and we have no roadmap outline. "We're looking at something that resembles a roadmap" is a non-answer. Typically, first quarters of businesses start at the beginning of February. That date has come and gone and we still have nothing. We know that this first update is mostly about establishing a bug fixing platform, and that's great and all, but can we get something more than the typical rhetoric? Where is the roadmap? Are we going to have server wipes with this update? Can you post the answer to this with the experimental release update post? Will the public relations guy interact with the community outside of random podcasts? Can we get this information posted to the 'Official' forums instead of relying on checking twitter all of the time?

About greater movement option on the map without motor vehicles.
Parazight replied to Matheus1111's topic in Suggestions
Just because the forums were made during the alpha phase of development doesn’t mean we’re still there. A craftable, portable train is a dumb idea. Doesn’t fit the game design. Too big of a project at this point and not even remotely authentic. These things don’t exist in real life. Try the search function. You’ll see that this idea has been rejected before and why. If you want to be taken seriously then don’t make countless threads filled with nonsensical ideas. -
About greater movement option on the map without motor vehicles.
Parazight replied to Matheus1111's topic in Suggestions
Please, no. For all of the reasons listed in the 20 other threads that have made this suggestion. -
A lot of times people will use 'vehicle simulation' but inherently include 'net code' with that definition. And that should be okay. Consumers aren't required to know this, only to pay money to get a product. There was talk of a new 'simulation' but there was no noticeable change. I really hope in the future that they do something else (move cars back to client side?) in order to avoid the current mess that cars still are. All I need is some sort of statement saying "yea, we designed it bad for stupid reasons. We learned our lesson and have changed our designs." That would be great. But I don't think they've realized this yet. Hence, this current update. 'Vehicle Simulation' not quite there.

keep getting this error when i join my friends server
Parazight replied to angelacunning's topic in Servers
Looks like you don't have your traderatm mod up to date. Mods not being up to do date does not require a game reinstall. >.< You need to let Steam update your mods. Try powering off your PC for a minute, then reboot. Try this again after you've updated as much as possible. -
BI developers working on console mods would be sincerely hilarious. Especially trader mods which totally undermine the CE. Maybe it’s time to graduate to PC. Or find a different game. Why are we centering the text here? It doesn’t help.

The brand manager doesn't visit the official forums. This used to be the designated hub of information governed by the brand manager. Now, all the brand manager does is make insipid videos that no one cares about with footage that doesn't use actual gameplay. Is ScottyB even the brand manager anymore? Who knows? Maybe it's someone else's turn to pretend to do something useful. What's the plan, ScottyB? When are we going to see transparency? When will game-breaking exploits and core mechanics get fixed? When will the constant 'micro rubber-banding' get fixed? Is this a great company to work for, or what, mr. brand manager?

After more review, I find that the vehicle simulation may have actually gotten worse in one regard. Perhaps I just didn't notice this before, I doubt it, but going in reverse is a real nightmare. When going slow in reverse it's like you're not even hanging onto the steering wheel. At slow speeds, the vehicle turns its wheels to match the contour of the ground.... as long as you are not actively turning. If you're not turning the wheels left or right then they go wherever the ground dictates. This is not realistic or authentic in any way. Try it and report back here, please. Go in reverse anywhere the road isn't perfectly flat. Very difficult. In the past, I could drive a reasonable distance in reverse, just like in real life. Now, it's very difficult to travel backwards in a straight line. Going in reverse definitely changed somehow and not for the better. Anyone else experience this?

So, good players know that strafing is bad? Inertia is a great feature. They should have never removed it long ago. Player inertia reinforces the importance of time investment into your character by forcing you to be careful with your decisions. Often in twitch shooters, mistakes can be mitigated by zig-zagging and tactics that take advantage of the unrealistic nature of not having player inertia. You have to play the long game in DayZ and be careful. This is a great move towards the original design of the title. Adorable.

Oh okay. Semantics. The sim is great but the net code sucks. This is what you’re saying. And you agree that the overall experience is bad. The overall experience is what matters. It sucks. The vehsim is great sure, but pointless to talk about without the netcode issues. Weakest link and all. Pointless to discuss anything without the presence of a FULL server.

The new vehicle physics is a fail. Bad design. I still have to stop while driving because on the client side the cars still bounce around. While they are stable server side, I get shot and killed waiting for the desync to end. It’s a real easy shot. Just a guy, in a car, between towns just ASKING to get shot. please fix vehicles.

Smooth as can be. The plan from the beginning was to have a MMO, with full population. Playing dayz on empty servers is lame. did the company expect us to want to play on empty servers if we wanted a smoooth experience? All the explanations detailing why performance suffers at high pops fail to point out that the game is based around having many people in it.

Just because we don't reiterate what you've said doesn't mean we don't understand it. Yes, we know the difference. We've seen this conversation so many times. Welcome to the forums, guy who thinks the vehicle simulation is great. The bottom line is that the overall, holistic experience is that cars suck and it didn't have to be this way. It's funny that you make suggestions. We've all used Arkensor Offline mode.
