Don't try looting on high pop public servers, in the big cities. You're just asking to get murdered.

The game is in alpha, so you can't really judge it as a finished product. You give observations of the current state when CLE is still a newborn and persistence is turned off. The facts state that players must kill themselves to get back to their friends? That's ludicrous. Don't run with your current teammates, find somewhere else to shoot people, do something else, go play a different game. If I could care any less about sounds while logging in, I would.

Ugh, we have a thread just like this already, in General Discussion, named Suicide Repercussions. This topic is already being discussed! The problem is that the game cannot differentiate between suicide and accidental death, so your idea punishes the innocent. Also, if you want to avoid the problem with suicide and respawning, then just pick a private server. This isn't a Survival Game. I posit that it will never be a survival game. The focus will never be pve because figuring out how to not die will only be challenging temporarily. Other players will always be the only true, unpredictable variable. Additionally, why would anyone adopt a playstyle just because of tired marketing? The 'game' is whatever you make of it, it's a big sandbox with other players and ways to kill other players. Evolving, emergent playstyles are a real thing in sandbox games, people play however they want based on what there is to do, not because some guy who works for a company tells you how to play. This is not Call of Duty! How true! CoD finished product doesn't require you to spend a lot of time gearing up and so killing other players is a lot less satisfying to some people. DayZ is a game about theft, theft of the time it took you to progress. I'm here, stealing your time with bullets. Yes, there are 200 km of map. I've seen all of it. Many times. Being a coast rat is far more entertaining to me than anything else.

AKS-74U is pretty overpowered right now. The fact that you can put a silencer on it, which can be found at the same spawn points right now, makes it the best option for SMGs out there. Important if you roll in certain groups. MP5K is a close second. That said, you can't put a SMG into a cooking pot, protector case, or ammo box. You can safely store a firearm in these things, though. Wonderful thing if you get shot during a firefight. My optimal loadout for all around play is: Winchester/Blaze + AKS-74U + FNX in a cooking pot

That's rubbish, regarding wow classes. And wow pvp is totally different. You don't lose your gear.

It's not possible, from my understanding, to build, or have structures below the base level of the map. Soz. -
3 of the 5 guard houses in Berezino spawn the AKS-74U regularly. (patch .57 anyway) The guard house by the lumber yard, the one by the college, and the one in western Berezino spawn 74s all the time.

Learning the hard lessons the hard way is fun and satisfying. You spawn with a rag and a light only. A great reflection of the survival aspect of DayZ. Having more than what is essential nerfs the game and experience, IMO. -
I'd like to be able to eat anything raw, regardless of what it is, and then just chase it with some antibiotics/charcoal tabs.

Infected are indeed present in .57 stable. How do you know for sure that you encountered hackers? I only ask because I see people all the time cry 'hacker' when it's just desync or some other bug. Don't crap your pants. Just get off of your rear and use the bathroom once in a while. It'll be okay.

The second that it isn't fun anymore, a player victim can log/respawn. This is never true IRL and thus why torture and its mechanics are lame. Items that restrain are fine, but usually torture related suggestions over do it.

Many times, people will recklessly loot up low pop servers and then hop to get back into the action. -
If you're referring to Survivor's landlime video, realize that he never activated the mine. Always keep an eye on the game messages while setting up a trap.

Imagine an impossible-to-make-game where AI code will outsmart the human brain. Now that is a reason to suicide! :P More: Maybe your player should receive a stacking debuff based on the number of recent deaths. For example, if you just respawned, you get a 7 minute penalty that applied -10% to your current run speed.

I like the idea of spawning in the same place until after a certain amount of time, though I'm not sure if the game could ever distinguish intent (suicide) and dying legitimately. The thought with persistence + CLE is that groups wouldn't stake out Berezino, Elektro, et cetera because the geared enemies wouldn't be there. Thus, hotspots would move to zone4. Also, coastal towns wouldn't be a natural place to meet up as there wouldn't be 5 guard houses stacked full of AKs and military gear. So, revenge killing wouldn't be an option, due to how the game is set and controls player movement. I'll add that I don't subscribe to the idea that killing a player is okay while revenge killing is not. Being the victim of a revenge kill is 100% avoidable. If you get revenge-killed, you did something wrong. I lol'd! Only bads will ever die to infected. They wont affect anything.

I don't bleed often, but when I do, I prefer hilarious squirting. I cannot recall, during the entire time of playing first person shooters, that I wished that I could follow a blood trail. Seems trivial. I've also hunted deer and other game in the midwest, usa. Having to follow a blood trail means you did something wrong and didn't take the proper shot.
