No idea why people shoot at trucks. Probably because they see videos of people shooting trucks and miraculously one shot the driver so that's the natural instinct. I typically yell at them in hopes I can either get a ride or just interact. Trucks are a great vehicle for nonviolent player interaction, really.
-
I'm not sure how possible it would be to kill a player by decapitation. It DOES seem quite possible to interact with a corpse similar to skin and quartering it to produce a head item, which then can function like anything else. Is something like this suitable for 1.0 or a mod, I wonder.

Hmm. I haven't actually wielded a hoe in quite some time. Is it better than the sword? I know that if you whiff with a sword the animation has to finish and it becomes a terrible weapon. But if you consistently connect with it, it is a weapon of immeasurable power in melee combat. Is there anyone here that is a master of hoes?

About 2 and a half years ago I saw some video of this one guy who had this mod or something and in this game there were monkeys simply ported in from a donkey kong game and the monkeys were throwing poop at people and people were getting sick and tired and infected and it's really simple so what I want to know is why we can't we throw poop at people and infect the infected on a new map. It's simple. /aneurysm

Clueless zombie wobbles to and fro. So I whacked him blindly with my trusty hoe. Sneaky zombie attacks me, I yelp and wail: "Please, no! Melee weapons are my epic fail!" The learning curve, my toughest foe.

I'm sure it's easier to build a game in a single controlled environment than to add additional variables like a whole new map. Stress tests, and being able to collect all the data from one place instead of multiple maps, probably. The same sort of thing happened during the last experimental release. They eliminated the 1pp servers temporarily, probably to examine what was happening, with better understanding.

You're my kind of sicko! :). You call them trophies, I call them momentos. Semantics, I think. I like to keep a piece of my recently lost, newly found friend. It's something to remember them by! Sometimes it's a pair of boots, sometimes it's a rifle, and sometimes it falls under 'other'. :)

Possible improvement for third person and fire fights.

I play both modes an equal amount of time, for various reasons, and love them both. I see people cry "exploit" and I honestly don't understand it or how people can form arguments for one or the other based on opinion. This "exploit" people talk of has been the best tool available to increase awareness and help me find other like minded players. Why would you want to promote less player interaction? Crazy logic suggests that the people who are against 3PP consider KOS mentality to be the norm. I could also argue (but probably won't) that those who consider this "exploit" to be a bad thing are the same people who get attached to loot. Gear and your toon's life are very insignificant. Player interaction is paramount, 3PP seems to be a much better vehicle for facilitating this. Okay, off to see how many times I get shot at today. :) -
Ownership in this manner completely works against what dayz is all about. I'm almost certain that this will never happen.

Perhaps you're right. I hope you find the answers to these difficult questions. Good luck!!

Stay away from the brown tabs and the 16 month dead threads, soldier! /salute. :)

What's better? Apples or oranges? Blue or purple? Ketchup or mustard? Chevy or ford? Right or left? Whopper or Big Mac?

Please be aware that I wasn't accusing you of using cheats. It was a broad statement, yes. I find it hard to believe you thoroughly searched how to fix a damaged limb. Countless others before you have had broken limbs and figured out the solution. Hardware and connection issues are one thing. In game problems are solvable on your own.
-
Sometimes you just have to learn the hard lessons the hard way, as the link Pilgrim provided suggests. Alternatively, internet search engines are a great source as well. Cheat codes, detailed game guides, hacks, and cheats really only dull the gaming experience. Solving problems on your own is much more rewarding.

So perhaps the moral of the story is to turn off your FPS meter and not educate yourself regarding the technology. Ignorance is bliss. /troll

Let me tell you of the ambush I was finally able to pull off. I had recently been gunned down in Novo, trying to engage in friendly banter. That didn't work out so hot so I was feeling adventurous, seeing as how I was freshly spawned and still on day zero. Spawning near Cherno, I grabbed some grub, found a magnum, some ammo for it, and made my way to veresnik. When I arrived there it was vacant. I took position on the hill and waited for the right victim. A couple of guys with armbands and assault rifles showed up, coming from the direction of the chopper crash. They checked the tanks and guard house. I decided to let them leave. I wait patiently. Finally! The right victim came along. I had a plan. I watched SKS guy get out of his truck on the east side of the base, outside the fence. I watched him go into the nearest barracks. I moved south along the fence line. He went into a second barracks. Clearly, he had no idea where loot spawns in .57. I fired two shots into the air. He must have heard them. He ran out of the barracks and then north towards the wrecked tank in the trees. I watched him from the south, he ran west towards the hill side of the base, trying to find me. It was too late. I had already made my move. I booked it like a Kenyan Olympic marathon runner to his truck. I got in. Turned on the engine and put my foot to the floor. I built up a good amount of speed and rammed that truck squarely into a huge tree, laughing all the way. I jumped out after totally destroying it, door still open. I continued south on foot, full sprint, dropping my ruined boots and putting my athletic shoes back on and looking over my shoulder. I want to assume this guy was mildly amused although his shooting mouth and shooting firearm suggested otherwise. I would have loved to know what he was thinking when he first heard his truck start back up. Hee hee. One of my best bandit moments ever.

Really dude?Terrible trolling. 99% of the community on this English forum doesn't understand you anyway. 100% won't take you seriously. Please try the appropriate forum.
-
Exactly. Even with loot spawning turned off you can find them everywhere.
-
Interesting. Why would I use a soda can stove over a cooking pot or posing a stick over a fire?? Related, a stick uses no inventory space and a cooking pot combo actually generates 2 extra slots.
-
I could be wrong, but I thought the plan was to have firearms spawn with AND without ammo/mags/clips.
-
I find that the fireball is rather excessive as well. However, it's an acceptable workaround to address the problem of not being able to triangulate sound properly at the moment. General awareness levels in-game are far below real life awareness by leaps and bounds (especially 1PP) so having that extra bit of flash isn't a huge problem, IMO. Hopefully during latter stages of beta they'll review this balance. Or maybe after the new sound module is implemented.

Post infection? Huh? Spawning in buildings wouldn't make it harder to locate your position. It doesn't take long at all to realize where you are, if you've been playing for any decent amount of time.
-
Not sure. If you were choosing multiple hives, then no. If you were experiencing reset issues, then yes.

Each type of server has its own benefits/restrictions. That is your call. The server select screen should indicate public or private.

Surprisingly, I've been going to the local walmart lately as they've had the freshest produce department in town recently. What kind of weapons are you looking for? ICBMs? No idea. Walmart has been out of stock on those for some time. Good luck.
