Of all of the ammo boxes and SVDs that I've found have all been at heli crash sites. Good luck.

The process of bug fixing usually involves fixing bugs knowing that you will create other ones. You iron out the wrinkles but create more in the process. This is natural. Fix three bugs, create two. Repeat the process until there are no more bugs. That's how it works. Zombies are part of the environment. Is it even possible to scale balancing of zeds versus your gear set? Probably not in a huge sandbox. This is a fundamental hurdle that open world sandbox MMOs have had for decades. You can't make zombies difficult for fully geared players because they will totally overwhelm a fresh spawn. Further, zeds are completely trivial, rightfully so, when you start grouping up with friends/others. Survival, zombies, and all things not related to player versus player in a open world sandbox will never reach a 'challenging' level in the vanilla experience. Theme music so you feel terror? wut? If you're not feeling terror then you're probably not on servers with higher populations. Just an assumption.

Right now the 'ADA' burns fuel very quickly. However, as long as you don't stop the engine you'll never run out of gas. For several days now, I've put in just enough to get it started and drive for hours. One Jerry can of fuel is more than enough. Just don't let it go empty

You're on Xbox. Does it even matter where you go?? Everyone shoots at everyone. amirite? I guess I don't know for sure, go where there's the most people! If you were playing on PC, I'd tell you to go to private, dedicated, full pop, announced-as-pvp servers for that type of player interaction.

My grandfather use to tell me stories where soldiers would prefer to use rounds that didn't immediately vaporize a Nazi's skull. Instead of using rounds like mushrooming hollow points, they'd use rounds that would just put small holes in enemy infantry. Then, Nazi medics would have to come and try to save their comrades, which takes up resources while providing additional targets to shoot at. Not sure where I'm going with this story, but hearing stories of people shooting Nazis always put a smile on my face. Good times, good times. Oh yea, I guess it's not the size of your hole that matters the most. >.<

Hollow-point slugs for everyone!! woot!

With the current inventory set-up, you never have to double-carry, essentially. For me, and most other people, it pretty much comes down to this. There's really no reason to keep an UMP or MP5K. You can keep your rifle with the Hunting Scope, or the SVD, (and sometimes mosin, if you're feeling nostalgic) on your back and just put your M4 in your vest, jacket or improvised backpack. You couldn't do this throughout most of Alpha. You had to choose between Hunting Scope or an assault rifle. Not as of .63. Forget about specialization! Being practical, because of the nature of the video game, the M4 is just a better choice. It's far more reliable hitting targets further than mid-range. The M4 is far more versatile. And why spend time working on UMP/MP5K when you can go M4 right away? Now, everybody can have a sniper rifle.!! (yay?) If the RAK were in every toilet across chernarus, and was 1x3 squares, would you even use it? Much less as an end-game option. The fact that you can fit a M4 in your backpack nowadays makes the gun much more powerful while at the same time, nerfs typical submachine guns. As far as being easier to find, well, nothing has ever been really difficult to obtain since alpha was launched. Great post, Gews!

I've had to deal with a ton of bugs, KOSing, waiting, bad design decisions, crying on the forums, and a bunch of other things that I can't think of right now. BUT NOW U DEVS HAVE GONE TOO FAR!!!!! WHOEVER JUST RUINED DAYZ WITH THIS ATROCITY SHOULD BE FIRED, ASAP!!!!!! PLX!! You bitches literally defaced the hot smoking chick in this legendary billboard. This was the only source of solace for me in this harsh apocalyptic world!!!!!!1!!!11! Why? Just, WHY?? Is this to avoid political pressure from anti-smoking groups or something?? Everyone knows smoking is good for you. THIS WAS PROVEN BACK IN THE 1920s!! wtf

See, DayZ isn't really aiming high for realism at all. The goal is authenticity. Because it's a video game and requires a design approach as such. If it were aiming for true realism, there wouldn't be infected. It would take months, not minutes to grow crops. You wouldn't be able to craft a rope out of 12 rags in 7 seconds, etc. There's no oversight. The developers are aware of this. There's always some combination of design and programming limitations.

Doesn't seem bugged. Have found a few at hunter stands. They do relatively little damage right now. Likely because bleeding and broken legs aren't fully fleshed out right now. Somewhat related, landmines are also not bugged. However, it is unwise to try to use one to nudge your ADA off of obstacles when they get stuck. You die and the car gets nuked. /facepalm

Great video! Very well put together! Excellent post production, scripting, and casting! The work of a true, die-hard survivor! Making entertainment great again! This should be put in the Gallery section however (and pinned, imo) to preserve this perfect alignment of creativity and thought provoking interaction. Str8 8/8, m8!

Six years later, I'm basically a new player again.

When you don't know where to start, always start at the beginning. -
You can still switch mags around, and fill empty ones using the hotbar. ADA not bugged at all. Physics may need some adjusting. Some things haven't been implemented. I've been throwing away fuel cans and spark plugs because I've found so many. Don't run from zombies, unless it's to an open ground. Just raise your melee weapon and get ready. Haven't experienced silent shots this update at all. Was pushed to stable for reasons Eugen has already stated. Read the reports. Yes. I have a barrel stuck in one of my cars. bummer.
-
Drove around in an ADA. When the vehicle is moving, the sound for the passengers, in all seats, is real choppy. This doesn't happen when you're the driver. Running over zeds works great. But for some reason when you get out while aggroing a zombie, the thing will hit the car and go straight up, crashing the client every time. My friend and I ended up finding 2 hatchbacks, repaired them, and drove around the northern highway, in close proximity. No noticeable desync. The car didn't start bouncing around, like it was doing in the last stable update. It was extremely difficult to go up any kind of incline. If you didn't have momentum already, you can forget about going uphill. Going downhill, I never had to hit the gas, the car would reach 70+ kph easily, in first gear. I think it's great that we can drive around the entire map and never run out of gas, unless you turn off the car. Always keep a jerry can with at least *some* gasoline in it! Also, landmines work great for killing people! I ended up putting one on the corner under the car after getting one of our cars stuck on a road barrier. I tried to kite a crawling zed on top of it, but the zed didn't trigger it. However, I was able to. The land mine didn't end up moving the vehicle in our very scientific test, according to my buddy. I obviously didn't survive to see the results. >.< Haven't experimented with bases at all, but we've had zero issues with persistence when it comes to hidden stashes, tents, barrels, or cars over the last week. The highlight of our epic journey! 3 cars! Took this shot right after discovering a fresh one in Nagornoe.
-
Don't use izurvive for cars spawns. I've found multiple cars in that area where there aren't marked spawn locations on the map. For example, the ADA that spawns in Nagornoe. Or, further southwest, like the one that spawns by the well in Rogovo.

Who said that? Please provide link.

Actually, to clarify my previous statement, you aim for the coolant overflow reservoir, iirc. Strange to me, I've always put coolant in the reservoir to start IRL, then slowly filled the radiator while a warm engine idles.
-
Put your dot on the radiator cap. It's small, but it's there. Takes about 6 full canteens of water to top it off. I recommend bringing a jerry can full of water, though. Thankfully we don't have to bleed out the air. I wanted to see how many oil jugs it would take before it wouldn't take any more. It was just a drop or two from 4 full jugs. The car was in a spawn location, so I assumed it was fresh. For science!
-
Did you put four jugs of oil into the engine? Ever try to drive a car IRL without oil? Spoiler alert: it gets hot.
-
So, which promises are biting who in the ass? I don't get it.
-
Found a radiator, a battery, a spark plug, 4 jugs of oil, a jerry can with gas, another jerry can (for water, for the radiator) and got a Lada working. A friend and I drove from around Svetlojarsk to NWAF, down thru zeleno, and then down to around to Kamenka. Car worked great, except for when we shut off the car. Shutting off the car emptied the fuel tank. This was the only buggy part of it, specifically. Seemed to create a bunch of desync, so I let my friend drive halfway through the journey. We didn't have any persistence issues with it over the course of 2 days. So, that's cool. I experienced the car bouncing around the Vybor area, but it must have been only me, as my passenger noticed nothing. So, a good play session, imo. No one important died.

For beta and beyond, It sure would be nice to have a universal command while navigating/looting that let the players empty the contents of a container without having to go into the inventory interface. When I'm looting, I like to keep an eye out for what else is going on around me. Going into the inventory in order to separate (beans) from a found (hoodie) seems clunky. In real life you could probably empty the contents of a piece of clothing without even looking at it. Just feeling around. You can easily empty contents while focusing your attention to what's going on around you. So, a thought... having a channeled action (much like eating or chopping wood) that would remove items from containers and then place the items on the ground next to, or on top of those containers, would be great. Thoughts?

Why are you playing the game in a way that requires you to drink every 10 minutes. That's foolish.

Suggestion - Grouping/playing with friends

Amazing that this topic hasn't been discussed over a hundred times already. I really hope that this suggestion never makes it into the standard release.
