You don't need to go into your inventory. Has survival ever really been difficult, aside from combat with other players? Could it ever be truly difficult? No. The only thing you've ever had to fear, or will ever have to fear, is other players. It's interesting that you ask about eating as that is absolutely trivial. As it should be.

This is a great way to go about getting a refund. Also, totally reasonable. If you don't get it right away, I suggest you contact your local congressperson.

I like it. Maybe even make it a craftable item. 2 camos, or a camo + rope, or something to make a car cover.
-
To clarify, it's typical that you wont log back on to the server right where the car is if you were driving it when the server reset. That's the typical part. I'm pretty sure you weren't driving cars back in 2014. God may not know how long you've been playing, but you can check in the steam interface to see how many hours you've got. 😝
-
This is typical. When a server restarts, this always happens. Players will leave a server first, then vehicles, or something. I've had cases where you log out and log back in .... on top of a different car even. #bizarroworldchernarus

Will never happen because Australia wont allow it. Torture in video games is dumb. Will never be authentic. Taking drugs in video games is dumb, for the same reasons. Pretending to be under the influence of psychoactive substances is nonsensical because you can't actually alter the thought process of the gamer behind the screen in this manner. Just do what other people do. Shoot them.

The best loot walks on two legs. It's there, on the coast, connected to some guy who shoots at bambis. You have nothing to lose as a new spawn. Be creative. Camp and stalk. Kill the griefer, get the guns.

Logged into the public server I always play on. I was at my base, so I jumped into one of the Olgas. Drove around for a while, up and down Helicopter Alley (a tour around zelenogorsk and up towards Lopatino) Drove back down. Looted Veresnik. Looted tents along the way. Drove to the damn after my sub machine gun got all kitted out. Found a couple new 8x scopes. That's cool. Drove back to the base, parked the car, ate some food. It was getting dark out and the server was dwindling, population-wise. Logged out for a bit and played some other games. Checked work emails. Did some dishes and walked the dog. Logged back on. Still waiting for daylight. Didn't know what to do, so I decided to server hop a few times with my load out set. Game sent me to Svetlo. This is perfect. Lots of fresh spawns with no gear to shoot at. Lots of griefing to be had. Hid out on the north west side of town, kinda near the gas station up there. Perfect vantage point in sight of the new police station and more importantly, a police car spawn. Camped that out for a while. Shot at a few people. Killed one, I think. A bit later my bro logged on. I switched back to the official public 'home' server. Had Broseph pick me up and drive me back west. Not all that fruitful, not necessarily boring. Not like loot is hard to come by, I guess. I dunno maybe I'll use a series of campfires to scale some buildings in Zelenogorsk and snipe plebs there.

So, low pop servers are the way to go? Why? This is a PVP MMO. What good is balance if no one plays on it?
-
I would love to be able to slip on a banana peel, fall into an opened manhole, and then die. Dayz needs more random ways to die. Hilarious, random, and tragic. Mostly hilarious tho. P.S. plz bring back lethal stairwells and insta death from a 3 foot fall.
-
But the server in your sig doesn't seem to be active at all. When and what is the peak population?
-
There's some seriously messed up bugs with logging in. My brother was driving an ADA and was hit with a random(?) restart on an official public server. He logged back in only to find himself miles away standing on top of someone's OLGA. The OLGA had two other players in it and proceeded to restrain my bro, but anyway, yea. Relogged back in on top of someone else's car. Amazing.

Surely there has to be a better fix for duping than creating penalties for server hopping. I mean a 'fix' to change player behavior is a shitty workaround for a technical issue.
-
Not that I'm against this mechanic as I typically stick to one server anyway. That said, when it gets to the point that it's not advisable to travel, I hide out and go do the dishes, check the forums, do some work, or play a different game. Why on earth is Bohemia Interactive trying to even solve the server hopping issue? This is a universal and unsolvable, problem not exclusive to DayZ. The world has accepted the fact that server hopping exists in games. I get it, DayZ wants to be 'hardcore' and 'punishing' and all. Why punish server hopping when there's a cascade of other, more urgent, issues at hand? Nobody wants to play for days upon days and then end up in the far west, with lots of time invested, only to die to some bugged terrain, or other. There are so many ways to regress in this game that is totally out of the players' control. This is the 21st century. Gamers dont want to sit in the dark, hiding, out of fear of exploring when they can't see anything. Players know this will get them killed. It's completely absurd to play the game in the dark, to the majority of your customers. Much higher chance of getting killed to bugs or griefers. People who want PVP aren't interested in sitting in the dark until it gets light out. This is not catering your product for mass appeal, which is clearly what you want (see how the devs responded to Austrailia's ban??? Yea. these devs cater.) You want the solution to server hopping? Here it is: Promote private shards. Put on your big boy capitalism pants. Just tell paying customers (on your official forums) that server hopping exists on public hives and let them deal. We're grown up now. We can handle it. I've never experienced a game that doesn't want you to play it as much as DayZ. I guess I don't understand why the game has been out of beta for quite some time now and you're still making design decisions. crazy.

Base building rebalance | Comprehensive list of suggestions
Parazight replied to Asmondian's topic in Suggestions
Yawn. Base-building isn't even important or part of the core design from the beginning. It's just something added because they promised modding and didn't know what to do. No matter what fix, or balancing, evil people will find ways to un-do honest peoples' work in a sandbox mmo. This has always been the way since the beginning of the interwebz. You should know this. If you want to store or hide something you don't use a base. -
But, Why?? Why not just have more wolves? Why not just have the devs work on something already planned? Survival versus AI wont every really be difficult. Interesting is pretty subjective.
-
Full wipe?!?!?!? But this is 1.0. The game's been released. This isn't alpha or beta anymore.

na·ive /nīˈēv/ adjective (of a person or action) showing a lack of experience, wisdom, or judgment. "the rather naive young man had been totally misled"
-
Not authentic. Unnecessary. It wouldn't be an option. Anyone in their right mind would use it to gain otherwise impossible information about their attacker. A person is almost obligated to use it, unless you hate free information.

Why is the console player base trying to ruin the game even more with these massive duped tent towns and seachests??
Parazight replied to Sil3nt's topic in New Player Discussion
Console players aren't trying to 'ruin' the game. They play the title because they enjoy it. They're just trying to game the system so that looting is easier, they die less, and generally try to progress with the least amount of work. It's the path of least resistance. Gamers are not going to do the honorable thing, in general, because there are no real actual or moral repercussions. -
Well, I'm 100% in the PVP 'crowd'. I've always felt that the environment has been there to perform as a speed bump and that PVE is largely irrelevant. That said, the solution is bad, in my opinion, for any crowd. A player has to invest so much time to progress just even a little bit. This mechanic undoes so much. Especially for new players that don't know the game in and out. I can only imagine that this solution will only create just as many problems.
-
Are you playing on an old computer? Can your hardware handle it? What do you mean black screen? Most video cards will shut down if they get too hot. Video cards get too hot if they've got a high workload. In this case, you'll still hear sound. Is this what is happening? Monitor your temps.

Ugh... This is such terrible decision making. What happened to BI doing whatever BI wanted to do? Why cater now? The modern day gamer should expect ghosting to happen and realize that it's not isolated to DayZ. Trying to fix ghosting is absurd. This is not a DayZ specific issue. Every single title in this genre, with this environment, is subject to this sort of player behavior. Why on earth is BI trying to solve this problem, and moreover, why try to solve the problem at the end of development? This sort of colossal issue is something that needs to be addressed on day one of development. This isn't something you band aid. Don't make a game, then add mod support, then add bases because you have mod support, then half-ass fix a problem. What a huge waste of money. What happened to solving base ghosting by teleporting you away from a spot if you tried to log in near (a base structure)? What happened to the solution being to play on private shards? The stance was that any punishment would end up hurting the innocent gamer. What happened to that? Whatever the fuck happened to authenticity? The solution is to do nothing!

The real reason why there won't be a Roadmap...
Parazight replied to Weyland Yutani (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
No. They have stated this in the past. Eugen stated that they want to under-promise and over-deliver. Absolutely not a troll post. You're the one doing the trolling. -

What's with the hate towards the US? Forgive me if I'm way off here. Your post is pretty incoherent, afterall.
