I would be fine either way. I’m not seeing fine tuning and balancing. We’re seeing huge changes to the game years after official release. Then some fine tuning, then more catastrophic changes. Look at the vehicle simulation/net code setup. Never worked great. They made adjustments for like, two years, then imported a brand new simulator years after release. What waste.

This part is true. It doesn’t really appear as if balancing will ever happen. Core systems and mechanics are upended over and over. Inertia is a great thing for Dayz. But this is a huge fundamental change. Go with what you have at official launch and then just fine tune the game until it works well. That’s the logical process, you’d think.

But..... Why? This already exists on PC as a mod. Turning a barrel into a flat piece of metal is ridiculously difficult and not in any way plausible, honestly. Especially with a wrench. There aren't even nuts to wrench on. Scavenging for already flat pieces of metal is authentic.

Society has collapsed. Thousands of vacant structures now exist. Why would anyone build a base in the middle of nowhere? Completely unauthentic. The only reason not to build upon an existing structure is because of development/programming excuses.

I was hoping that this wasn’t going to be just another list of additions. What we really need is an overhaul of systems. We need updates that move to the stable branch server to actually be stable. An improvement on the anti cheat software is more important than these in-game QoL improvements. We need improvements to performance, security, and stability. We need prominent figures to demand these improvements. Having spotlights on the map at nighttime is pretty eye-roll.

What’s the suggestion here? Location displacement occurs as a deterrent to ghosting and a fix to logging into a gas bomb. Switching between hived servers is unnecessary in pretty much all cases.

There's no enforced age clause. If it is a private server then the server owner can ban whoever they want for any reason or no reason. If they tell you otherwise, they are lying or clueless.

This is a great idea for a PC mod. Which already exists. sorry console users, you gotta level up if you want real gaming.

Great post. Personally, I’d rather have the accuracy of the shots reduced instead of seeing restrictions on actions. However, the 2 OP suggestions aren’t bad.

Fabio’s submission looks great. Classic billboard. Realistic marketing and product placement. Composition extends beyond the frame. Bold colors. Just enough words and the right size to read them as you drive past. Hard to miss. An advertisement of something that’s advertised often. Chernarus needs more like that.

I get the feeling that the company doesn’t want billboards advertising the game WITHIN the game. That’s about as immersion breaking as it gets. You put Dylan Thomas poetry on your billboards. Kek. Pretty sure he’s rolling in his grave right now.

Why would you report them? Because the server is not enjoyable? Do you think that the anti-cheat software is not recognizing this 'unrealistic timeframe'? Or is it something else? Having multiple accounts is not an infraction, ya know. It's really gross when people report other people even when no crime was actually committed. Oftentimes administrators will just react to the cries of clueless plebs and not procure an objective viewpoint, which is a shame.

It will be interesting to see what happens of this Anybrain. I am of the belief that only a real human can keep pace with cheaters, we'll see. I would love to see independent code be able to successfully mitigate this issue but I have my doubts. That said, I would have gladly paid into a subscription model to avoid cheaters. The devs care just fine but don't broker deals with anti-cheat software companies. Management does that part. Likely that management doesn't scour the forums for lamentations.

The consumer needs to be actively playing the game. Any other sanctions or restrictions are fine, progression can be slowed but preventing the player from playing the game is inherently a bad idea.

Sorry, no. There are no alt accounts here. TheGordonFreeman and I actually have no communication outside of these forums. The argument wasn't abandoned. Posts were deleted. I'm not going to make those same arguments again because criticisms of the company may be construed as personal attacks. People invest a non-trivial amount of time and effort into building communities (not to mention all the capital investments) only to have them broken with each new patch. And this will likely continue. This is not about money. This is about principles. As someone who is at the center of community building within this game, it's mind-boggling that you have the viewpoint that you do. I'd like to see this game finished and working but look, they're still looking for a lead creative director for DayZ. Really? I have my s--t together. I keep the promises that I make. I pay my taxes on time, have no criminal record and actually volunteer to help people in need. The corporation that I work for is successful because adults hold people accountable. That's the flywheel that generates successful momentum, to build successful companies. I would recommend Jim Collins' book "Good to Great". It has a ton of great literature to help small private companies like this make proper decision making.

What's controversial about the word "Crocs?" Is there anymore context to this? Are we supposed to assume crocodiles might be added? Can we get animations for bows first?

When will we receive parity from pre Enfusion? When will core elements work? I agreed to pay for this product AND help test it. Which I did. It’s been ten years. When will we get an acceptable product? The problem is the code.

Great idea. I would love to have flying boats. Seriously tho. There are some good boat mods out there but they all seem to have issues with the vehicles beaching themselves. Maybe because the vehicle simulation and the code that governs them is terrible. We’ll never know.

I would add staff to the Bohemia Interactive team. It is obvious to everyone that an MMO cannot exist in this day and age without active admins present on their servers. Even the most well funded institutions around the world deal with cyber criminal behavior on a daily basis and struggle. Hackers, cheaters, and exploiters ruin the game every day. It's absurd to think a product will ever work without present and active staff to circumvent bad actors. I would not add security measures into your code, compromising the performance of it when you can just hire staff as security instead. I would love to see the developers recognize the glaring errors they've made and one day tell their customers that they won't be doing that again.
