Yea. It’s not slander if it’s true, right? There’s constant spam and garbage FOR WEEKS but no one to filter it. They know that these forums are a dumpster fire, despite the main page being the ‘official’ source of information. The main page is all community content! Wtf! Their official information is community content. That is absolutely mental. I call a spade, a spade.

No. They are still around. Both of them. It's just that they don't really do anything here. The devs have full time jobs and moderating these forums isn't it. Which is fine, of course. You'd think, as a business entity, they could provide some sort of perk, that doesn't cost them anything, in order to have volunteers moderate their forums, or even administrate official servers, but no. Maybe an in-game skin just for official volunteer help. Maybe some sort of endorsement of streamers. Throw out some T-shirts. Maybe they should hire a non-fictional brand manager. It's really amazing how much the company wants itself to fail.

I’ve never seen a torch of this manner nailed to a tree or hanging on a wall in real life. Weird because that doesn’t seem like it would burn down a perfectly good house and/or tree at all. Please nail a lit torch to any of your walls and report back with the results. Thanks. oh yea. Eating worms. Which you can find anywhere, and dig up with almost any tool. Unlimited food source. Totally NOT game breaking.

There’s no hard edge on the survival side. Lol. Out of curiosity, what did you change from vanilla to make it ‘focused more on experiences between players’? -
Keep requesting. Renaming the servers properly is an easy fix. So is rededicating them to 1pp only. I had made a thread similar to this ages ago, and it was made easier to understand, overall. good luck.

The historic nomenclature and naming logic for bohemias servers have been convoluted at best, and abysmal is nominal. In the past, persistence off servers didn’t mean that it was off, it actually meant the server was temporary. Hardcore servers not being hardcore, much less even defining what that was. Basically, the company doesn’t have enough people working for it to reliably monitor, or even consider, how any region defines its systems based on language. So, take the name of the servers with a grain of salt. But continue to point out how Bohemia is clueless, with extra effort. I hope the SA region gets the proper support it deserves.

What's the plan, ScottyB????? Where's the roadmap? Where's the information? Where on earth is ScottyB, the brand manager? I've made several submissions to the missing persons department because the BRAND manager has had zero communication with anybody, ever. Okay, Kyiara. That's great and all. What happened to keeping the community posted to the progress? It's been SEVEN MONTHS since the initial announcement and NO information has been given. The primary source for information is community content and nothing related to the lies of keeping the community posted. Why is it that the 'official' information is mostly community content? Is this some sort of joke? Please update whatever business model you think you're using to something the rest of society uses.

Videos go in the gallery sub forum. The lore has already been established. This is my Dayz. This is My story. Having your own story is essential to any game that has no finished concept and is built upon the principles of adding whatever random mechanics you have laying around the office. Having a finished anything is anti thematic to what the title represents. Soz

Getting kicked because of server restarts has been a thing for a while now. Maybe online gaming isn't a great choice for all of these new players you're getting. Out of curiosity, how would you change the message to make it easier to understand?
-
There is no high concept in DayZ. It's just a bunch of half finished mechanics, that might fit into a military simulator, if it were one. How about we add the ability to take a shit before we add bank notes to a collapsed society. Taking a huge shit is at least relatable to the game.
-
Heh. HOPEFULLY. You didn’t look for the server advertisement sub forum? Cute server name. Terrible thread title. What discord info?
-
Yes.
-
It’s not an attack, it’s a ‘special military operation’. If I were BI, I’d get some company like Battleye to ignore the whining for them. Then I’d move cars to server side.
-
Good suggestion. In fact, most cars have a slot for a spare wheel. All DayZ vehicles should come with a spare tire and a parachute.
-
Sure, I'll play. I suggest reading these forums, watching streamer videos, follow dayz twitter and other media channels provided by the front page. The internet is supersaturated with Dayz help videos. I have to assume this is a troll post/alt account. You already know that a survivor should move inland, but you ask the most basic question possible. Seems doubtful that you are a new player given that you are able to gear up and then move inland successfully. You've figured out infected and how to get over the survival hump. Basically, you've solved the game, mr. new player.

Absolutely Can Not Connect to Official Servers
Parazight replied to LawManDan's topic in General Discussion
Okay, so you can play on some servers but not others. Chances are slim that you ever had to re-install anything. Unfortunately, you may have issues playing on official servers. If you ping over 300ms at any time you will get kicked. This happens with mobile hotspots. All hope is not lost! You will be able to find a community server without this restriction. Take advantage of mods now that you're no longer on console! -
Okay, sure. It's cheaper now. At what price point will it no longer run DayZ?
-
There's no context here. People under the age of 18 typically have no management skills at all. Forget about dealing with other people. Most teenagers can barely organize their own underwear drawer. More importantly, server rental companies are not going to deal with minors. You have to be an adult in the eyes of the law so that you can be held accountable.
-
You're going to buy a brand new computer with the latest technology, and by the looks of it, it will probably cost 2000+ USD, and you're wondering if it will play an 8 year old game? This is a troll post right? I mean, you listed the case. That GPU is a thousand dollars. You didn't do any external reviews of any of these components and instead went to the DayZ forums? c'mon. 🙄

I guess pretty much anything is boarding after 50 thousand hours. >.>

I would disagree. We should get rid of it. The in-game version is NOTHING like actual kuru. It doesn’t incubate like real kuru. It has no relation to a fake mil sim (dayz). Dayz kuru doesn’t relate to survival in any way and doesn’t interact with any of the other gameplay loops/mechanics. It’s just another half-assed pile of code added to the heap. Another fine example that the game has no vision or direction. We need to have whoever is left in development fix problems, not add random garbage. IMO.

Not a bad suggestion. ARK uses the F key to access specific storage and it works great. It makes sense, too. You can’t see inside 5 barrels simultaneously in real life anyway. Personally, I’d rather open/close individual storage boxes instead of having to mouse wheel scroll and search multiple containers.

Even if a person is 100% guilty and is rightfully banned, why is it from the developer and not Battleye?!? Why put the accountability on the developer when the automatic response is always 'Go talk to Battleye'?? All reports of this 'developer ban' result in customers coming to these forums because Battleye is passing the accountability. I thought Battleye was in charge of security. 🙄 It seemed to me that the developers are busy enough making new guns, explosives and other non-survival related things to deal with security issues. Also, this puts BI in a position where it can arbitrarily ban any number of people for any/no reason and not have to answer why. Which adds no value to the customer. After some consideration, we could blame the mess on unoptimized code, but heck, how is that even possible, we're like, 18 updates since the game came out of beta. 😏
-
And here is the essence of The Blame Circle. BI is responsible for choosing Battleye as well as writing the code. When people get banned they are told to deal with Battleye. Yet, Battleye replies with "this is a developer ordered ban". In the end, the responsibility is on BI for finding a service that doesn't suck large donkey balls. The number of false positives has to be higher than zero. There are numerous examples where Battleye doesn't respond to inquiries. Customer Service is shit, there are plenty of voices repeating this and it's never refuted by BI. Just look at recent posts! They don't respond to emails. On top of all this, cheating is everywhere. There has been, and continues to be, alternatives to the present, but they're not explored. Battleye and Bohemia Interactive both deserve bankruptcy; their product sucks and they don't communicate with their customers. There's a mountain of problems with security and none of them are the fault of the consumer.
