Try this: Restart Steam. Close Steam in your sys tray. Maybe even reboot. Disable all mods and unnecessary third party programs.. Wait. Sometimes the achievement is put in a queue. Try again. An interrupted internet connection may prevent it from unlocking. Good luck

I don't know what you're watching but there was a video put out yesterday with actual gameplay and not screenshots. Adam Franku was playing while the host, Matěj Smrček, talked a bunch. -Matěj Smrček I pulled this last quote from the video when they discuss cars. I watched him give this statement at 17:10 in the video and have no idea what it means. In one hand he expects the car fix to appear but then says that it would be a total surprise because it's still a raging dumpster fire. They also discuss a wipe of Livonia servers. It's great that they're announcing the wipe right away. Despite ScottyB claiming that wipes are purely for balance, they're doing it because the terrain is being changed. "So bases are not levitating." Yay.

Naturally, the company probably wont/didn’t post it here first. I’d give a link, but then my post would be hidden. Id love to be able to say ‘look at the front page!’ But only community made content makes it there. Do some digging at some search engines and you’ll be able to find it on YouTube.

What’s the controversial part?

Just watched the teaser trailer for 1.19. Adam was playing the game and always opened the inventory UI whenever he went to pick something up. This got me thinking. Maybe the game needs an adjustment to how a player loots. Surely, the design wants the player to not have to do that, right? If developers are doing this then it can’t be in an optimal state. Go watch for yourself.

Thank you. This is a great contest/idea. I hope to see some amazing work.

BI apparently prefers to use social media platforms for communication. Sure, it’s terrible because they can’t actually interact well with its customer base but they CHOSE to not use the forums for this reason. Notice how there are no moderators here. Also, the key binding interface has never been intuitive as you have to save every mouse click at every opportunity.

Ever use a cooking pot that’s been glued back together with epoxy in real life? Think it would actually work?

Is there a way to submit pictures without using Twitter? Why even use Twitter? Are the official forums not good enough to host your marketing projects? I’d rather use truth social than cancerous Twitter.

This would be great. Really, I harp on these issues because I want the title to succeed. It's a unique game and offers freedom like no other. Also, I appreciate that you take the time to respond! 1. No. Road maps are dumb. I've stated on these forums 7 years ago how a roadmap (linear path) is the worst possible way to describe non-linear game development. PM for a link. 2. Yes. Let your official website be our source for your information. Socials are not interactive at all, Bohemia Interactive. Twitter does not offer the same structure as a forum environment. No, everyone in the community does not actually know about your socials. I look at the dayz website and see nothing of your podcasts, even. Not everyone 'appreciates' social media. Searching for information on these forums is much easier than digging for 3 year old content on any social media website. Stickied threads over 8 years old still have relevancy. Directing people to the website lets you control the narrative. All of the content posted on socials could be posted here. When someone is directed here, they get all of the information you want them to have and a link to purchase this, and other products. The company has completely squandered this website. This is why I started this thread, because I can't do this on social media platforms. This is the most obvious place to go for information. Why are we being directed to go elsewhere? This quote hits pretty much all of the questions. Okay, vehicle simulation worked great in Arma. Cars were client side. Long time customers know this. Vehicle simulation was moved to server side because of security reasons. This is my understanding so far, right? Please help me understand. So, a simple person like me asks... Why are you guys changing something that worked fine? Now it doesn't work at all. Why are you compromising performance for security reasons when security is completely compromised anyway? Why make this code if you've hired BattlEye to be the security? Why not let BattlEye deal with car-using cheaters instead of making the cars not work? In addition to Official servers, I play on a private network where players can control the cheaters. So, BI seemingly sacrificed performance for nothing. If this game were to be played as an e-sport, it would be 100% code performance and 0% cheating issues because it's a controlled environment. Please explain why this wasn't done. We can see the mistakes. It's obvious that losing 4/5ths of your development staff before the project is complete is not ideal. Just being open with the community is a great start. Like when you say that you're wiping purely for balance reasons. Is that for real? This makes it hard to believe what you say. You said this in that article you linked, that I'm not going to read again. So, when you change the terrain in an area, this has nothing to do with wipes? What an amazing coincidence it's been so far then. Servers don't need to be wiped of data for the health of the hardware/software anymore? Really? It's that optimized?? What I'm asking for regarding wipes is that you announce it immediately on the forums. That's it! This is immediate, relevant information to the inhabitants of your official servers! It answers the question of where your group is going to progress. Should you plan a new base or not. Do you hold on to good gear or do you take more risks. Should you farm more, or engage more. It's particularly frustrating because knowing whether there will be a wipe or not is something the developers know when they make the next patch announcement. All I wanted to know was if you were going to wipe or not with the next patch. I don't even care either way, just share the inevitable info right away, so I don't have to ask every single patch. Share this right away on the website. Even if nothing else changes, tell us in the patch notes if there is a wipe. Seems like patch notes information, right? thank you

No. My statement is accurate. You don’t communicate. This is the official source. Not socials. The narrative is here. You can call it trigger. Or whatever. I prefer to call it holding people accountable. responsible. It works great for successful companies. This thing that is hard to fix because it is fundamentally flawed. Suspension is hard. Give me a break.

My post got hidden because of a link or content?? EDIT. OH, hidden. I posted a dayz dot com link. Lol
-
Yea. Okay. I commented on the announcement thread. It’s fine that you didn’t notice. Linking that thread says shows that you really didn’t read my posts as I reference it. And NO. I have no interest in following ‘socials’. I come to the Official dayz website. I’m not interested in non official sources OR having to negotiate multiple, multiple sources. Your above posts say nothing relevant. I won’t be addressing issues via DM or socials. I’ll continue to address them on the official website, where they logically belong. I’ll have to continue waiting for action instead of Mkt retrospective meeting reports that we’ll never see.
-
I try to be fair. This thread is genuinely aimed at this “ScottyB”. Software developers don’t go into gaming development in order to deal with forum public relations. Obviously. They should be coding, right? Where is the brand manager on the official forums?? We need a face to give us answers. We wait forever. I can see that they developed the title and made sacrifices to performance in order to implement security measures. Now, the performance sucks with cars ….and there’s a dumpster full of security issues anyway!!! So, that sacrifice for security is totally pointless! No explanation!! Tell us how you messed things up and explain the mistakes that were made along the way. Right now, BI doesn’t own up to their end of the Early Access bargain, IMO.

Five updates this year, huh. Which update will be trying out the new vehicle port? 19 or 20? I keep looking for updates from the brand manager on the dayz website here but continue to see nothing. Am I supposed to check Twitter or something for information? Am I not looking in the right spot? Why is this website/forum so lacking in communication from the company?

Okay, I'm going to copy/paste this thread into my iPhone 13 Pro Max translator in an attempt to help you. If I don't report back in 15 minutes then it means my phone exploded. Wish me luck. -

Uh…. This is an English speaking forum. -
Typical development process involves transparency wherever possible. Typical successful development means not just bandaid fixing critical components. Cars being moved server side for security reasons, despite BI hiring a security team is abnormal. Normal development is to optimize code first, then deal with security Your development is very backwards, at least to the rest of the industry and the several multi-million dollar companies I’ve personally helped manage. This is all on Spanel. Because it has to be. Tell him to visit the forums and explain why we won’t be getting a fair product that we agreed to pay for. Thanks for your time. .

No answer is better than wrong answer. Why not just say “I don’t know” instead of making things up? better to say “we have no plan for a roadmap” (this dev says production stops because of vacation time) wtf. How possible is it to make anything like a road map with this as an issue?” Also, KNOWING your fake brand manger said “weeks, not months” and that was 6 months ago. be straightforward with your customers. Don’t insult us with this current nonsense. please.
-
Exactly. So we agree then. The two people in the video that rackinglad posted do not seem to understand that, as evidenced by them listing vacation time as a reason for a halt in development. This is how successful companies operate.
-
Is this working filter a human being or are we pretending that you have some code to do the job? Please share that technology with the rest of the world. Why not entice a single volunteer to do the job? Okay, I watched the video. Go ahead and watch it again. All they say is that they're working on problems, and that it's difficult. Regarding vehicle physics, they simply state that they're working on these same band-aid fixes and not actually dealing with the root problem. They said they're tweaking the suspension. lol. They're never going to fix cars. Also, it seems like those two nerds don't actually work on the critical parts of these fixes. They also make the excuse that devs go on vacation during the summer instead of realizing that this is a business organization who should be able to plan for such things. If I told my CEO that profits are down because people go on vacation then the management would be replaced, rightfully. It was 10 minutes of not answering any relevant questions, IMO. Nothing was said about 1.19. Only "devs are working on stuff". Just another random youtube video trying to make noise and not really say anything.
-
“Not months, weeks” was said about a roadmap. It’s been over half a year. Y’all planning on releasing the roadmap for 2022 maybe late November, at the earliest? What about vehicle simulation? You teased about that, then nothing. What about the under promising and over delivering premise? When does that start? Maybe you guys should replace the fictitious brand manager with a real one.
-
Oh? Could you provide a link to where you heard this, please?
-
It's because of limitations. All platforms use pretty much the same code. Volumetric clouds were removed because of software reasons, not because of hardware. A graphics update for DayZ will not happen. Perhaps future BI titles, but not DayZ.

No one from Bohemia Interactive manages non-official servers. If your newbies server changed, then that is probably something well beyond the company's control. Choose your community servers carefully. Get used to losing everything. A lot. You will lose everything many times over. Either to player death or server wipes, it's inevitable. Good luck. Also, I recommend getting acquainted with battlemetrics dot com. It's a great resource for monitoring game servers.
