Verify your updates for windows. Update all drivers. Maybe even flash/update BIOS. good luck.

Okay. You're extrapolating that 30% of people are against a wipe based off of the number of replies in this thread. WHAT A WILD RIDE!!! I don't want to convince you to keep playing. I understand that you'll no longer enjoy playing DayZ after your loot is gone. That's fine and all but let's take a look at this one idea that seems more interesting than crying about wipes... This idea, which you keep mentioning, if implemented, would also be subject to wipes for all of the same reasons. Hardware changes, corrupt data, software updates, to name a few. But my question is.. At what specific point is a player considered to be 'geared'? And why base it on gear? You're just asking for exploitation.

So, you got banned by BattleEye? Can you give any more information? The default response is to contact Steam/battleeye.

Hit the engine with an axe 4 times. When it starts smoking then re log.

I don't know. A fight, even melee fights, should favor the person with the gun, in my opinion. A person without a gun probably doesn't have much to lose and a geared player would rather have distance. Geared players have more to lose. New spawn fights are a thing in DayZ, but this isn't a melee fighting game. DayZ is a shooter game and an mmo where gear takes time to acquire. Not really a great environment for coast rats running up and down the beaches chasing each other with fire extinguishers. The last thing I need is someone to drop all their gear in a barrel and then bum rush me while I'm looting Tisy. They have nothing to lose whereas I risk everything only because melee combat needs to be more balanced versus assault rifles. But, I hear what you're saying and if they can find a win-win solution, then great.

Right. I agree. Still BI’s problem. I posit that the issue could be somewhat mitigated, had they chosen better decisions overall.
-
The mechanic for reporting cheaters is to tell battleeye. It’s part of the Blame Circle. BI tells you to contact BattleEye. BattleEye says the code is the problem and then bans people when devs tell them to. it’s pretty idiotic. However, cheating is way, way beyond their control.

Wait, are you telling us that 'Plan B' is to get yourself banned? Out of curiosity, how do you plan on getting yourself banned on these forums if you're unable to delete your account?

You know, if they had some centralized location where all the information is there, discord or no, then that would be great. They've announced a wipe with this update and it happened right away. I couldn't be happier. But before that, I've asked every update on the day they release the changelog with no response. This happened over and over. Eventually they'd get around to announcing it on Twitter. So, I made a huge stink about it. I called out the PR manager who had never been to this website before to give us information about Dayz on the Dayz website. Finally, something happened. The logical conclusion is to make a lot of noise if you want anything, I guess. The original plan, before most of the dev team left, was to use this website to communicate with the masses, to promote the game. Look at all of the opportunity that they've thrown away. From not hiring the guy who went on to make PubG, to dumping Survivor Games, to not communicating at all with the people who funded this. The DayZ brand manager has a podcast that he does? Weird that it isn't even mentioned at dayz dot com! I'm all for written discussion in a dedicated place, wherever it is. Discord is great, I use it all the time. I'm really not interested in wading through a mountain of unsolicited garbage opinions of people who want video attention, though. I want to be able to just read the information now. I don't want to sit through videos/audio for 10 minutes for 3.4 seconds of written information. If they want to move everything to Discord or whatever, then that's fine. But it looks like they have enough trouble managing ... everything... as it is.

Personally, I find the animations to be very inspiring. I don’t believe the animations need a complete overhaul. Maybe some simple additions, if possible.

So, you’re saying we should use Facebook to discuss wipes? All of those things are totally one sided compared to actual discussion. When we have questions, feedback, or bug reports, maybe we should use truth social or Twitter?
-
No. That’s not how it works at all. Trends don’t just happen independently from what works. People say things like “most people….” When they don’t actually have any data. The trend is to keep your opinion to yourself? That’s the trend? Lol. No. Maybe you need to re-evaluate what social media is all about.
-
Maybe we should avoid using nonsense like Reddit and social media platforms. Why are you trying to move the discussion off of this website? When Hicks and friends left the company BI stopped using this website. It’s a real shame because this was a real hub of information. Now the dayz ‘brand manager’ relies on social media bullshit and podcasts to ‘communicate’ with their customers. Not that players should have any say whatsoever regarding whether there actually SHOULD be a wipe.

Experimental Update 1.19 (Change Log)
Parazight replied to Kyiara's topic in PC Experimental Updates
I think this is a good move. It's been nice finding things in a random state. Some things don't make sense as badly damaged, but still usable. Like potato chips, candy, and weapon magazines. If candy is badly damaged, but still usable, it must just have a dirty wrapper, right? Same with weapon magazines. If weapon magazines are sincerely 'badly damaged' they wouldn't be usable. These are machined items that don't necessarily require specific gun cleaning parts. Maybe a large number of these items that appear in the world, that are now 'badly damaged,' just need to be cleaned. This is the obvious logic. A simple rag could be used to restore certain items to worn condition. Non-perishible food, weapon magazines, medical items, and other items that would normally be completely ruined by taking any amount of damage IRL could just be cleaned by rags. Fixing up all your stuff is a great time sink. -
There is no reason to focus on collecting and gathering. The point is to do things. You're not wasting your character if you've been able to hang out with your group of people and have great experiences. Whether PvP or PvE or whatever, the point is to have fun and learn. There is no measuring stick for success, only create memories. Watch some great players who stream. People don't tune it to see their gear. Get your wife to buy the game like planned and help her learn how to play the game and have fun. That's the point. Getting all of the loot before she starts playing is the complete opposite of what's inherently intended.

Experimental Update 1.19 (Change Log)
Parazight replied to Kyiara's topic in PC Experimental Updates
This may not be necessary. Even without the ability to readily repair magazines, it seems authentic that a weapon jams. Related, having numerous ways to repair a magazine would be welcome. -
It’s okay if you don’t understand the point. In fact, it does make sense, but you wish to not see it.

Experimental Update 1.19 (Change Log)
Parazight replied to Kyiara's topic in PC Experimental Updates
Yea. 10 zombies should spell death and small fender-benders shouldn’t kill a person. They got it backwards right now. -
It's okay if you want to quit because it's too hard to find loot.

Experimental Update 1.19 (Change Log)
Parazight replied to Kyiara's topic in PC Experimental Updates
I continued with my journey. I ended up getting cholera after having a cold and then eating with bloody hands. Mistakes happen. I ended up trying to recover from Cholera over the course of like, 5 in game days. Always got food and water up close to full white and ended up puking. Never found multivitamins up in Brena. Used tetracycline, but it didn't help. After about 3 IRL days I just F11'd it. Dumped all my gear in a barrel. Put a slug in my head. Picked up my gear 15 minutes later, then finally headed south. Got a car working in Muratyn and headed to the new village south of Gieraltow. Looks nice. went further south a bit, found a truck, drove on down the road, about 40 km/h. Hit the brakes, but hit a tree straight on going 35-40 and died. Cholera: Probably too punishing, if anything. Not worth the effort as a new spawn. Easier to just suicide. I would recommend balancing by adjusting how much a person can eat before they throw up. It's really hard to know this anyway, whereas in real life, you can clearly feel if you're going to eat too much. Here, it's just behind-the-scenes numbers. Driving: Driving didn't get any better. Recovery of when things go wrong is somewhat better. All of the previous issues are still there. I'm not sure the new braking system should have been activated at the same time as the new car mechanics. I'm not sure the extra buttons are needed, but we'll see. I need to try it out more. Like I mentioned earlier, I got a car running, a Sarka, but hit a tree, which would maybe change the bumper to 'damaged' but I died instantly. I even had an assault helmet on with my safety belt fastened. Bumper was worn, as how I found it. Also got shot once by a guy wielding a BK-12. That was kinda cool. -
And I refuse to watch movies until Disney owns all of the streaming services.

I knew you were an American. Welcome home.

I take it all back. We shouldn't wipe. We wouldn't want this guy to get his revenge.

What’s wrong with multiple accounts? I’ve got like 4 accounts in my house.and they’re all legit. My kids play on two different platforms, just like me. No need to worry about cheaters. I’m sure BattleEye will catch ‘em all.
