Maybe instead of asking the community what Rocket likes, you can watch some of his interviews that he has done over the past few months. The answer to your question though is no, he doesn't. This is a completely open game with no rules. If you don't like what is going on around you, use what you have available to you to make your situation change.

There is plenty of wildlife as it is now. Maybe even too much. We don't need more. If you run off into the woods without food, you should have a difficult time finding something to kill and eat. As for number 2. I really don't think infected wildlife fit into the current situation the DayZ world is in. A lot of people could tell you, just because something is deadly for humans, that doesn't make it deadly for animals. The easiest thing I can think of is the bite from a tarantula. While the venom will hurt if a human is bitten, it isn't leathal. But the venom can kill dogs and cats. Kind of works the same way with disease and infection.

SGT is correct, you didn't pay Rocket for anything. He created this in his spare time, and on his own dime. If you had directly given Rocket 50 bucks I'd be telling you something completely different, but you didn't pay him anything. You bought Arma 2. If you are unhappy with Arma 2 I suggest you take that up with BI. If you are unhappy with DayZ, you should either post your suggestions to try and make the game better, or find something else to do. Comments like this don't do you any justice either. Pretty sure you're just trolling now.

The Winchester 1866 should, realistically, have a MUCH longer reload time
zipper replied to Powell (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Winchester Model 1866 The original Winchester rifle - the Winchester Model 1866 - was famous for its rugged construction and lever-action mechanism that allowed the rifleman to fire a number of shots before having to reload: hence the term "repeating rifle." Nelson King's new improved patent remedied flaws in the Henry rifle by incorporating a loading gate on the side of the frame and integrating a round sealed magazine which was covered by a fore stock. Originally chambered in the rimfire .44 Henry, the Model 1866 was nicknamed the "Yellow Boy" because of its receiver of a bronze alloy called gunmetal. You do not have to unscrew anything in order to reload it. This is one of the reasons why the gun was so popular. -
Should servers be able to choose the time of day?
zipper replied to soapmak3r's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Not sure why you think the server owners need to sort out anything. You need to take the time to find the server or servers you want to play on. They aren't adjusting their server for you, they are ddoing it for the whole community. Most of the servers in your area are going to be low pop at night time. And during the day, they will be full. That's just the way it works. There are still servers that switch their timezones to cater more to people like you. You just have to take the time to find them. -
Why should they trust you? Trust has to be earned. It isn't just given to everyone. Telling someone you want to trade while giving out their location will make them freak out. They have no reason to trust you.

Can we get one please? Disconnecting to avoid death was a big enough concern amongst the community that Rocket issued an official response on the topic. A lot of people have been asking about loot cycling, and there have been a lot of debates about whether this is an exploit, or if it is acceptable behavior. I don't think it needs to be discussed in detail as to why or why not people think these things, everyone will have their own opinion and there are a lot of threads discussing the issue. Any reply would be great, thanks.

Don't discourage PvP, but encourage Cooperation
zipper replied to edonovan's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
There are already plenty of incentives to cooperate with others. Please refer to this thread. http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/8526-incentives-to-cooperative-play/ -
You do understand that there is nothing realistic about that?

Getting rid of player kills in the hud.
zipper replied to Maplemayhem's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
The debug window should be completely removed. The only thing you need to know that is on the window is how much blood you have. They can easily add a meter to the UI and get rid of the debug window. This game revolves around realism yet you know when someone dies 800 yards away from you, in a bush, just because your number count will go up. -
thoughts from a brand new player on how to make this more fun for new people
zipper replied to 343guiltyspark's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Why are you bumping your own thread? You should take the time to read what people have posted. -
Your opinion, in addition to your idea, really need some work. As everyone else is going to tell you, this isn't BF3.

From what I understand this is something that is being looked at in Arma 3. If you want auto run, search the forums and find the macro for it.

US 711, Two Streamers are being given tonnes of shit from hackers.
zipper replied to sdhfguih2i3df's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
This is about the dumbest thing I've read in a while. You understand that modding is basically hacking the core game? Feel free to tell us how they can end hacking. I'm sure Rocket, along with every other game developer in the world, would like to know. -
How to end Ganking, and support Honor [ v ]
zipper replied to Arainasc's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I am denying that 95% of the people who play the game are bandits because it isn't true. Just because you have bad luck doesn't mean everyone else does. What you actually mean is, everyone who complains on the forums about PvP tends to get killed in hostile encounters with other players. This doesn't make up the majority of people who play the game, only the majority of people who complain on the forums. There is a large difference, which you don't want to pay attention to. Devs have posted statistics showing just above 14% of people dying from murders. You refuse to believe that, so apparently you know better than the people who are able to actually look at the numbers and are able to filter for specific values. Cool. If you have hostile encounters on a regular basis you are doing something wrong. If you think everyone you meet is going to instantly become your best friend and not shoot you, you are wrong. If you want a solution to what you believe is a problem, create it yourself. There are plenty of people who are doing just that. Some have created medical groups so they can play the game exactly how they want. Some have created trading groups that facilitate and protect people that want to trade with each other without the risk of being shot. Others have just created groups to help newer players, and some have created groups that uphold a law like system against larger groups of bandits. They all figured out how they wanted to play, and adapted their style to the way the game is developed. And it works, without the Devs having to come in and create new ideas to help hold peoples hands. If you are getting shot all the time, and you are tired of it, change the way you play. If the only way that will work for you is shooting on sight, then do that. If you are creative enough to come up with other ways to accomplish what you want to do in DayZ, then good for you. This is a completely open game. If you want something fixed that isn't a bug, figure out how to do it yourself. Watch this video, and listen to him. But more importantly, look at the screen behind him at the very beginning. This is DayZ. This is your story. Create your own story. It's what he had in mind when he was creating the game. -
Solution to all of your DayZ problems? MAKE FRIENDS
zipper replied to MalleusX's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
What has more weight then being shot at and killed? If you miss, you can die. If you hit, he could have a friend that kills you. Deleting everything you have and forcing you to start over is a pretty big consequence. I don't understand how anyone can argue otherwise. Yes I would like to bet. This is not an MMORPG. This is a FPS. -
How to end Ganking, and support Honor [ v ]
zipper replied to Arainasc's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Removing PvP is not an option. One, it would kill the entire point of the game. Two, it has already been posted that it isn't an option. Since people in this thread seem to lack an understanding on the benefits of team play, please read this thread. http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/8526-incentives-to-cooperative-play/ -
No matter where loot cycling is performed, you will have no idea what is going to spawn. It is still random. Obviously there are places where it could be done that offer military loot, but you aren't guaranteed anything. You could end up getting the exact same weapon that you could find in a deerstand/firestation/etc. Loot cycling doesn't really have anything to do with hot spots or dead areas. Regardless of whether or not it exists, there would still be hot spots and dead areas.

How to end Ganking, and support Honor [ v ]
zipper replied to Arainasc's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
So 95% of the community is just killing each other on a regular basis? That number seems pretty far off from the 14% that Vipeax confirmed. So far off that it seems like a completely made up statistic with no numbers to back it up. And you are failing to see my point. If you are walking up to people yelling friendly, and you keep getting shot, you should expect to continue to get shot if you continue to do the same thing. The only luck revolving around this game is what loot happens to spawn when you go into specific areas. Every other aspect of the game can be controlled by you. The game requires patience and the ability to think before you act. If you take the time to do both of those things you will find your time alive going up at a rapid pace. No one forces you to go into the middle of Electro to get a weapon. You could have just as easily found one in a barn. If you are getting sniped, you should have taken a bit more time to observe your surroundings. There are obviously limitations within the game right now, like people spawning in areas you have already checked and confirmed to be clear, but you cannot control that. The best you could do is provide an overwatch for whatever you are doing, and hope he is able to find the person spawning in before he finds you. If you continue to have difficulty with player interaction, you need to change the way you interact with players. The game developers do not need to jump in and create a brand new system. If you have a problem, figure out a way to solve it. There are two forums on this website that are dedicated to helping people group together if you don't have friends to play with. Use them, or figure out how to survive on your own. Use the tools available to you. -
Incentives to Cooperative Play
zipper replied to ZedsDeadBaby's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Been looking for this post for a couple days now. People could use a reminder on the advantages of playing in a group. -
That is not what I am talking about. You do not have to adapt a shoot on sight style of play in order to succeed in the game. There are a few places you will obviously want to use this (NWAF, Starry, basically anything in the north). But you don't have to kill everything that moves. Running up to someone and yelling friendly is a death wish. There are much better ways to group up with strangers that don't involve you running right at somebody. Be creative in how you think about things, and ask yourself how you would react if a complete stranger did what you were about to do. If you put survival as your number one priority, and then answer that question, you will more often than not be able to figure out exactly how the stranger is going to act when you do the same thing.

Or you could just stop running up to everyone and trying to have a normal conversation with them. Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. If what you are doing isn't working, the game doesn't need to be changed. YOU need to change. If you think that means shoot everything that moves, that is your problem. There are plenty of people who understand the value of playing in a group. They manage to succeed in doing so because they adapted to the game, not the other way around. If you aren't going to change the way you play either get really good at playing by yourself, or get used to respawning on the beach on a regular basis. Please tell me where you get your statistics from. -
+1 Plane would be cool.

How to end Ganking, and support Honor [ v ]
zipper replied to Arainasc's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
The game is oriented around survival. Not community, not friendliness. Survival. There are dozens of ways to go about doing this. The ratio of people being killed by bandits isn't anywhere close to the number of people being killed by zombies. I believe it was Vipeax that said nerfing banditry would be nerfing the minority. Your post was labeled as fail because you are placing helping others above survival. You want a reward system in place for things that should not be your primary concern, and you are dying because survival is not number one on your list. This doesn't mean you have to shoot everything that moves, but the minute you endanger yourself, you are jeapordizing your survival. If you die as a result of that, it is your own fault. Your priorities are backwards. You should not get a reward for trying to help others and dying. You should be penalized because you failed at surviving. And you do get penalized for failing to survive, the game makes you start over. Inserting any sort of reward system will completely change the way the game is played. If you are having a difficult time surviving play with friends. If you don't have any that play the game, use the forums and find people to play with. There are hundreds of threads with people asking for teammates. Use the tools given to you to help you succeed. If you don't, you will find yourself on the beach, a lot.
