  1. Everyone is a threat. You are in a kill or be killed environment. Choosing to trust someone you do not know is the biggest risk you can take. People with the attitude you have would be the first to die in a post apocalyptic world.
  2. Your answer to server hoppers is joining low populated servers and sitting in the barracks until you can kill someone? Twats like you are the reason I don't want people being able to spawn in the airfield. Congrats on being part of the problem. What you are doing makes you no different from them.

    My Headlights are broaken

An answer would be great. Unfortunately I think it is just a bug. I have had the same problem with vehicles, and I have found the headlights to magically work again after a server restart.

    Anti Server Hopping Suggestions

Doesn't get rid of people logging out in the barracks and waiting for others to come inside. When a building is cleared' date=' it should stay cleared. Regardless of whether or not it is the same server, if you log out in a point of interest, you need to be relocated. I would say logging out outside of a point of interest, you should log back in at the same spot. Getting disconnected while under fire does not always happen because a player doesn't want to die. This is too extreme. I know several people from the EU/AUS/NZ who play and get booted constantly because of ping. They don't have issues playing until players start coming together. They could be sneaking up on someone for a kill, miss the shot, and get booted for having too high of a ping. Instant kill wouldn't be right. The number of people that have to log because of hackers dwarfs the number of people who log because they are being shot at. Technically speaking, if they have time to log after being shot by a hacker, it has to be one of the worst hackers in the world. Besides, hacking is not the issue here. If you want to fix the hacking problem, start suggesting fixes for Battleye. If the server gets nuked, logging won't help you. If you get shot by an aimbot, logging won't help you. The problem you propose isn't related to this topic.

    ATV uses too much fuel!

The ATV is perfectly fine. It has more than enough storage room to hold jerry cans to refuel it. The reason why you think it uses so much fuel is because it has a smaller gas tank.

    Anti Server Hopping Suggestions

A timer on logout is not the answer to the problem. People seem to think the only reason others DC is because they are being shot at. There are lots of other reasons as well. I'm sure you wouldn't be very happy if you were crawling through a town and your isp shut down your internet for whatever reason, and you log back in to find yourself dead. Personally I think people need to enter a combat state when being shot at. Make this the timer. This way if you aren't in combat, and your internet shuts off, your character is logged out immediately. If you are taking fire and alt+f4, your character stays until your combat state drops. People should not be punished for joining different servers. I find myself in the same situations as the OP (trying to join a server only to find it has tags, friends come on to play and the server is full, etc.). This answers both of those problems. What you are talking about is not server hopping however. You are talking about DCing during combat. To prevent server hopping for loot, people need to be removed from certain areas on logout, i.e. you cannot logout in the barracks and respawn in the same place. Have them respawn a click or two away from towns/areas of interest. People would really think twice if they have to run 20 minutes to get back to the barracks. You would also finally be able to clear a building, and not have to worry about someone spawning in a room you already cleared.

    That thing you can't find

A fully populated night time server.
  8. Why don't you just use direct chat and whistle to him?
  9. I am actually in favor of this. They make a game breaking difference if you can get ahold of some, and as it is right now, everyone plays until the server switches to night time, and then everyone leaves for a day server. I know some people will be like "omfg wtf ur so stupid nvgs are supposed to be OP idiot", but I don't care. I prefer to play at night, and I would love to play with 50-100 other people on a night server. As it is right now, that will never happen.
  10. Anyone know if they are just going to put the Hueys back in? Or is it going to include the civilian and littlebird as well?
  11. Pretty useful at night time if you don't have goggles. If you server hop to avoid playing at night, then you are correct, it is useless. Would love for you to get into a firefight at night time and attempt to explain how having a burst fire DMR with a NV scope is useless. If you have a small stash set up somewhere, it can essentially replace your DMR at night, while giving you single shot and burst capabilities. This allows you to either carry a silenced weapon as your back up, or you can leave space open for going on loot runs/raids/etc. It is far from useless, it just isn't useful during the day time.
  12. The answer to your question is yes, but it depends on how you got to the point you are at. Unfortunately right now, there is no real "endgame" content, and to all those telling him the point of the game is to survive, once you have all the loot/food/drink, you can literally live indefinitely in the woods with little to no issues. This is why the supposed hacked in AI events were so popular, they added something else to do in the game. Hopefully some more content is added in a patch or two. But until then, you have to just keep pvping until you die, and start over again.
  13. I thought I was alone in this. I can never find a damn compass.

    Spawning.. The fuck?

What would you do if you never got a reply to this post? Use the search function on the forums to find solutions to the problem. I don't believe there ever was a response about the timer on spawn, however there are about 2 dozen posts regarding where your friend spawned. If you encounter a problem, i.e. "Bug", look in the bug forum for solutions to your problem. This thread will help your friend out. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=11402

    Crawling into buildings

+1 There are a lot of various and random limitations with the Arma engine. Hopefully the HMFIC takes notice of these limitations and irons them out when the full version is released with either Arma 3, or as a standalone game.

    Two annoying things.

The moderator is trying to tell you this is the way things work. While I'm sure they will eventually look into the wire fencing, whining about being shot by someone is about thread #1,000,000 on the topic. You say the guy didn't need anything. Maybe he needed a flashlight.
  17. Not sure if the skin is even in Arma at all, but I was thinking about the number of people who shoot on sight only because they are always shot on sight. A medic skin could help those who really would like to help others, but are tired of being killed as soon as they are seen. Yes bandits could grab the skin, but you could counter that by making the medic stick out like a sore thumb to other players (not a camo outfit, maybe just a different PMC/Civillian outfit with the red cross on it). Skin is just like the camo and ghille, giving no incentive to shoot the medic to take his skin for wrongdoing. A combat medic skin could also be introduced, which would be more suitable for those playing in groups. This would help the medics friends when asking for help, as they could be more specific to their locations from a specific person, and people playing a combat medic would have a bigger target on their head when fighting against other groups. Warfare in groups might change as well. If one side is winning in an engagement, but they have people that are seriously hurt, they would know who to keep alive if they do not have a medic themselves, disarm him, and make him patch the victors up. Maybe they let him go, maybe they don't. Some pros and cons that I see. Pros: -Other players see giant red cross on the arm, maybe head as well, people could be less likely to shoot someone they think might be there to help them -Red Cross is a universal sign in all countries, helps remove the language barrier for those who don't speak the same language in direct chat -Medic sticks out more than others, causing him to be seen first in most engagements, lowering his chances of survival in a firefight -Would encourage more group play/teamwork in a game where teamwork should be essential to survival Cons: -Could be abused by bandits to trick other players (maybe require certain humanity # in order to wear it) -Adding another new feature to a mod that needs more fixes than features Again I don't know if this is even in Arma, but since the game is completely moddable I'm sure it could be added if it wasn't. To be clear, this is not a "class". Just merely a different skin to identify those who would want their initial impression to be someone who is there to help, not harm. Thoughts?
  18. This is an Alpha correct? Why are servers not always running the latest patch? I understand if there are issues with crashes (1.7.1.2) and server owners want to wait for a more stable update which they know will happen asap the next day, but this is kind of silly. I show 546 servers in my six launcher. Assuming all of those servers were 50 slot servers, and they are not, that is 27300 slots for people to play. The DayZ homepage shows 256,040 unique players and 76,949 players in the last 24 hours. Every server right now is literally jam packed, and it doesn't help that there are still servers playing with 1.6, and every version of 1.7. So my suggestion is, if possible, globally update every server to the latest patch. If there is a problem with servers crashing due to an update, globally roll the servers back. It will really help keep everyone on the same page, and will cut down on the bug reports from people playing on outdated versions of the mod. Additionally I would also suggest adding additional servers. You obviously have the player base to support them, and they are just going to help you find problems with the mod. The number of people playing doesn't match up with the total number of players. It isn't even close. I apologize if this has been commented on already, I did a search for the topic and found nothing.

Force Third party VOIP in game.

So the game is able to recognize me talking on a skype call to friends/family/business? Why don't you just have the game post all my personal information on the DayZ home page? Any game that has the ability to know what I am doing outside of playing will not be on my machine. End of story. Teamspeak, Vent, etc., have been around for years. You need to accept this and move on. If you want in game only speech I recommend you buy either a PS3 or XBOX360. If players want the other people in game and not on TS to hear them, they will use in game voice. If you are having a hard time with the immersion part, think of those using 3rd party voip as if they were whispering to each other. You wouldn't be able to hear them anyway, and in game voice does not allow you to modulate your volume level and direction accurately enough.

    30 Second logout time?

Don't agree. 30 seconds is a really long time. Try going into the middle of a pack of zombies and sitting there for 30 seconds. That is what would happen to players that legitimately lose connection.
