I have never seen a chicken, rabbit, or goat. I have seen 1 cow, 2 boars. I saw 3 elks/deer, all of which were found within a 10 minute time frame very close to each other. I also have yet to find a single tent.

[Suggestion] Strong side, Weak side.
d.walker43 replied to Steak and Potatoes's topic in Suggestions
I like, but im confused on 1 thing. would we be able to change which side is our strong side? Im a lefty, so I would not want to be penalized in-game for playing like this. however, this brings up another problem. If you can change it, why wouldn't people just change their strong side to whichever side they are leaning to? If someone could clear this up for me that would be good. thanks. -
Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
d.walker43 replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
Alright. Let me start off by saying this is not a rant, but truly a suggestion. I think that the crawler/hopper zombies should be removed, and tested internally to make sure they actually work before releasing them to the public. Normal zombies work somewhat normally now, we all know they need work but the game is playable with them. The crawlers, however, are a different story. I encountered 1 single crawler, which killed me. I was wacking it with a stun baton (with battery), which kills a normal zombie in 2 hits. I hit the crawler 11 times. Still was unscathed, and managed to kill me. I ask that these types of zombies are removed, tested/fixed internally, then re-released when they are at least playable. I understand it is alpha, but invincible zombies is unacceptable. Thank you. -

Standalone Couple of questions?
d.walker43 replied to GtaSoldierBoy's topic in New Player Discussion
While I would be inclined to agree with you, the original roadmap of 2014 says they will finish end of 2014/early 2015. The devs have also said that they are pretty much on track with the original roadmap. Also, they said in the latest status report that the first vehicle/first basebuilding stuff is going to be added in the next update or so. Also, remember that some of the stuff may be added later too. Just curious, where did you get the info that they said it would take another year or 2? I'd like to check that out. Thanks. -
Standalone Couple of questions?
d.walker43 replied to GtaSoldierBoy's topic in New Player Discussion
Well, it depends. right now, the mod is better optimized and includes more features. However, upon completion of the standalone, it will have more features, far better optimization, better graphics, etc. pretty much everything will be better. the question is are you willing to wait? I know the standalone is expected to be completed end of 2014/early 2015. if you already have the mod, I would suggest just playing that until the standalone is finished, then buy it. -
Good idea, but you know the kiddies would all complain when they complete a mission and get shot directly afterward. Obviously it would happen in real life, so it will happen here too. I like the idea and the other mature people will but I don't know about the kiddies and casuals.

Gaining more FPS without sacrificing quality help, dev input welcome
d.walker43 replied to -Greenie-'s topic in Troubleshooting
Honestly, that fps with maxed out settings is really good. I don't really think it can get to much better. Obviously you could turn down some of the settings that you don't really notice, such as things like motion blur and stuff, and leave textures and rendering and the like maxed out. I get about 30 fps in towns and 40-50 fps in forests/fields, and im on a $400 laptop at the moment because I'm not at home with my desktop. Laptop specs: CPU: Intel Core i3 4010U 1.8Ghz GPU: Intel HD 4400 Graphics (modified gaming version) RAM: 6 GB DDR3 Screen: 1366x768 I have pretty bad specs on this PC, but I can run it decently. I increased my fps and graphics capability by doing a few things. 1, I put my in-game resolution at my screens maximum, 1366x768. that helps graphics look a ton better. Also, turn your rendering resolution up to whatever you want, obviously you said its maxed out already but if it can run 200% it will look amazing, bump it down to like 150% or something, will help fps a lot and doesn't look a whole lot different. also, if you really want better fps, turn off things like post-process and motion blur, wont effect graphics a ton but will help fps. Other then that, just tweak it a bit yourself and see what happens. that's what I did, eventually you'll find the perfect combination for your computer. hope I helped. -
Realistic Voice Chat (always on) & Better ingame Sounds in general
d.walker43 replied to Randy_Pie's topic in Suggestions
I agree with everything said, except for the part about the mic always being on. I think there should be an option to turn it always on, but it shouldn't be required. What if while im playing, a family member calls from somewhere else in the house, and your yelling back to them about whatever? Not only have you alerted everyone near to you that your there, but anyone that heard you is probably laughing their ass off. I personally think that its better if you don't HAVE to have it on 24/7. That being said, I have another idea I would like to suggest. right now, from my understanding it doesn't matter how loud you talk, it can only be heard the same distance away. I think that this should be made more realistic. If I yell through my mic, it should make my voice not only obviously be a yell, but it should be projected farther away. Likewise, if I whisper, it should not be able to be heard from very far away. Both would have their uses in-game. Anyway, that's my feedback. thanks. -

Im not going to quote all of the ideas above, but ill try and add them all to the list at some point. good ideas, keep them coming. -
I laughed out loud for the first time in a while when I read this, lol.

Your right, it would not have a set amount it is worth, because of the reason you gave. but, it can still be determined by the players as to what it is worth. obviously some people will only want items in their trades, but others might trade some ammo for some food and some cash. there obviously would be no taxes or any of that, but it would still have its place in the world. it would give an alternative to trading away your items. I agree with this, money wouldn't be purely for trading it could pretty much do the same things as plain old paper can too. and coins can be used for the things you suggested and more.

Everyone says 450 wont buy you anything good, but that's wrong. My laptop im using right now was $425 USD, and runs it on medium/high settings at about 40-ish fps. I bought it at Wal-Mart.com, im not sure if the exact one is still available, I bought it about 6 months ago. The Specs are: CPU: Intel CORE i3 4010U 1.7Ghz GPU: Intel HD 4400 graphics RAM: 6 GB DDR3 Screen: 1366x768 hope I helped, as I said this rig runs it great.

Pants on the ground. No, Pants in the air!
d.walker43 replied to Zardoz75's topic in General Discussion
Ive noticed this too. Not neccesarily floating in mid air, but sometimes items spawn on top of cabinets and stuff that are too high to reach. -

Liked the ideas, I added the first 2. the last one seemed a bit unrealistic, but I loved the 1st 2, especially the first one. good suggestions. -

will other ATV's/small vehicles be added besides 4-wheelers and motorcycles?
d.walker43 posted a topic in General Discussion
Hi guys, I simply have a question about ATV's and other smaller vehicles when they will be added. I know 4 wheelers and motorcycles are already confirmed, but are other types of ATV's and small vehicles going to be added too? I have some suggestions for others I think should be added besides just 4 wheelers and motorcycles. I will include basic description and picture of each one. Dirt Bikes: pretty much a small off-road motorcycle, comes in many different sizes. can be made street legal, but usually are for off-road use only. most people know what they look like, very common in USA and Europe. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=dirt+bike&FORM=HDRSC2#view=detail&id=AADD5CE7BECDBCD4A3D9EC04F2BBF8221F76C8DA&selectedIndex=2 3 wheeler: predecessor to the 4 wheeler, made in the late 70's to mid 80's. basically a 4 wheeler with only 1 wheel in front, easy to flip when turning so they made them illegal to manufacture, thus the 4 wheeled version was born. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=3+wheeler+honda+atc&qs=n&form=QBIR&pq=3+wheeler+honda+atc&sc=1-19&sp=-1&sk=#view=detail&id=FD97503C9C77D6FEC777F3DF400A915D717BDF21&selectedIndex=1 moped: vintage 70's/80's small motorcycles, with 50cc engines, could be bought for around $500. very easily worked on and fixed, only go about 35 at max if they are stock but still a good vehicle to have. super common in Europe, and has a sort of cult following in the US and others. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=moped+puch&qs=n&form=QBIR&pq=moped+puch&sc=6-10&sp=-1&sk=#view=detail&id=EDE182D5034521343C5E054AE795EC87D624BF8D&selectedIndex=1 I will add more if I think of them, you guys can suggest more or if someone could confirm whether or not things like this will be added that would be great, thanks. -

d.walker43 replied to d.walker43's topic in Suggestions
great, will add to list. sort of fits in with someone else suggestion of having gears and such, so you could switch it into neutral and push. would obviously be easier to push something like a ATV then a full size truck or SUV or something. -
Good ideas, I for one would use the walkie talkies if they were actually a bit more practical, mainly if their range was farther. The game tries to be realistic, I want to play it like that. This is great idea too, but it has some flaws. people that don't use a headset or external mic can almost never be heard when whispering, I use my integrated mic sometimes and people only hear if I talk a bit slower and loudly, sort of like talking to an old person. Another flaw, the shouting thing. Its a good thought, but would you really want to be in your room at 2 AM yelling as loud as you can to some guy in-game, and waking up everyone else in your house at the same time? its a good idea, but it has flaws and I don't see it being added.

The Communitys Official Vehicle/Vehicle Idea Thread Version 1.5 (Now with constantly changing polls!)
d.walker43 replied to d.walker43's topic in Suggestions
Good ideas to both of you, ill add the tape idea to the idea list. As for the vehicles that Minion posted, I like the tractor and riding lawnmower, but I don't know if I like the construction vehicles. They are so slow, it seems kind of pointless. Ill add them to the list regardless, but those are my thoughts. And I really hope the "self propelled howitzer" was a joke, if it is added I just might quit playing :P -
I kayak as well and I agree that you are right, however no matter what we say it wont be changed. why? because they would have to make new art, new files, new everything. and the time and effort put into this version would be wasted, so they wont go through that much work to change this. This is a game after all, so not everything will be perfect. Hope you understand my point, thanks.

I just let my lil sis play so I set her up on a 1st person only server so she wouldn't mess up my normal character, and she spawned there, with no clothes. Also, when i spawned in on my normal character I spawned in a town next to like 5 or 6 railroad tracks next to each other, have never spawned there either.

d.walker43 replied to d.walker43's topic in Suggestions
Yes. Yes. Just yes. I added this along with a Camaro and a Challenger to the list. Would definently love to have a fast car like this, if there was no pick-up trucks around :D . Thanks for the suggestion. -
as it should be. getting a real vehicle running is very complex, I can get a small engine running if it was not working but a car is different, but similar. Things like spark plugs, carbs, fuel/oil systems, are sometimes very hard to figure out on a car. I hope this reflected in-game.

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
d.walker43 replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
Hmm. I just played for a half hour scavenging the town I spawned in (not sure where im at lol) and I encountered quite a few zombies, most of them when I was in or near a building. They actually look a lot better optimized, I never ran into a problem once where a zombie went through a wall, they chases me up stairs and down fine too. The game overall felt more optimized, I was on a night server but could still see pretty easily. Melee combat still needs work, but it has gotten signifigantly better.
