    Maunsell seaforts [and others]

Hi, I like all of your ideas a lot, especially the amusement park one. Also really liked the idea of more islands/forts in the ocean. I thought of another I would like to add to the list. Have campgrounds, they would be good to use up some of the vast wilderness in the game at the moment. They would spawn lots of camping/outdoor equipment, probably some decent axes and such too. Once they implement vehicles, this would be the place to find driveable RV's and motorhomes. Again, good job on your list, great ideas.
  2. Hi guys, I have some ideas that im wondering what others opinions are but I think would change dayz for the better. 1: MORE ZOMBIES! right now they are rarer then guns, this needs to be changed. Right now the KOS in this game is so bad because people get bored and want to kill something. If there were more zombies, im talking like 10x more, people would team up and fight hordes of zombies, not just kill each other. I understand its not that easy and lots of server optimizations would need to be done, but this should be one of the first priorities right now. After the current zombies are fixed, they need to multiply their number by a ton. 2: radios. They already have walkie talkies, but if they included radios as well when someone talked through a walkie talkie on the same channel as a some-what close radio, that persons voice would be able to be heard somewhat loudly through the radio, so you could set one up at your friends home camp and go out on looting missions and be able to report back your findings to everyone back at camp. You could also program them to play music or something, in order to lure someone closer or simply to add some tunes to the house your in! They could be built into cars as well. I understand this one would take a decent amount of work, so this shouldn't be a main priority but would be nice to be added later on, after big things like vehicles and base-building are already done. 3:GPS. They had this in the mod, and I think it should be brought into the standalone as well. Have it able to be found as somewhat uncommon loot, about as rare as a compass or fish hook. It would just be like a map, except it would show your location on the map so it would be more useful then just a map or compass. These could also be programmed into cars, most newer cars today irl have them built in. This wouldn't be terribly hard to add, as I don't see why they couldn't just take the mod version of it and copy and paste it into standalone with some changes, I know its not that simple but its easier then starting from scratch. Anyway, heres my ideas. Post what you think, no hate messages or anything completely stupid. Use common sense. Thanks, and please tell me what you think!

    More Aspects of Wilderness Survival

Yes, I suppose you have a point about the lean-to being a general idea. I did think of several other uses that sticks/brush could be used for. 1: making a ghille suit for extra camo, just attach sticks and such, maybe using a sewing kit to attach leaves and such to any hoodie/jacket? 2: adding extra brush to a boonie hat, in the in-game description it even says something about loops in the hat to add extra foliage for camouflage. 3: could maybe be used to camouflage cars (once implemented). Could attach sticks and such to a car, so it could be more easily hidden. That's all I have for now, if I come up with anything better ill let you know. thanks.

    More Aspects of Wilderness Survival

Hey, I like the ideas. However, I noticed something I thought kind of funny. Last time you posted camping ideas, I suggested the camo/makeshift lean-to ideas. not mad, but would like some credit for the ideas. Go check your previous post, entitled "couple camping ideas" and look. I suggested them to you on that post. I would at least like some credit on this one. Thank you.

Little gift for Shrub Rocketeer ™

Almost as good a story as shrub rocketeer himself. Almost.

Confused and can't find solid answers

1: yes and yes. 2: like above comment said, go to an online map, dayzdb is probably the best, and search for tents.

GPU crashes every 5 minutes this update

This is concerning, I run it on an intel HD 4400...it runs fine at med settings right now, I played this morning and it was fine. Are you on experimental or stable? which update are you talking about? 0.48?

    Knife Sheathe

Only works with combat/military knife. I hope eventually any knife can do this, but atm only military knives. :)
  9. d.walker43

    Knife Sheathe

well, It makes sense but I find it kind of pointless. for 2 reasons. 1: a knife only takes up 2 spots anyway 2: you can already put a military knife inside of combat/military boots.

    SA only servers

Either he is confused or is a troll. Please reword your question.
  11. Alright, so after my latest dayz experience I have an idea. When you come across a dead body of a player, an option should be added to identify the wounds on the body. When you click this option, a text message will pop up saying something like "the body has a bullet wound to the head" or "the body has stab markings in the chest." This would help to identify if there is a threat nearby, and is also very realistic. I know that if I were in a zombie apocalypse if I saw a dead body I would attempt to see the cause of death. You could get even more detailed with it, if a player died of hunger or thirst the message could say "no identifiable wounds" or something. Anyway, that's my idea. If you have any feedback, please post below what you think. Thanks!

    Zombie Allies

Guys, hes a troll. Yard it.

    Couple camping ideas

I like the ideas a lot, I have another one of my own id like to add. Have the ability to cut leaves and sticks off of bushes/trees to attach to tent, to camouflage it better. Also have the ability to use the brush to make a temporary lean-to? Would make it so a tent wouldn't be necessary to camp, you could make your own shelter. Again, I really like your ideas, hope they get implemented at some point.

    remove military bases and airfields

Think about it before you say something like this. If you get rid of military bases/airfields, people will go server hop police stations. If you get rid of police stations, people will server hop apartments. If you get rid of apartments, people will loot hospitals. If you get rid of hospitals, people will loot piano houses. If you get rid of piano houses, people will server hop normal houses. You don't want to get rid of houses...so get DirectTV today! Just kidding. But seriously, your suggestion is pointless. I vote it gets yarded. I see Boneboys already saw it, honestly im surprised he didn't yard it already. :|

    add campgrounds as a location

Hi guys, I think that campgrounds should be added as a location in dayz. I have several thoughts on this, feel free to add to this list. 1: put them in some of the forest areas. Right now the map is filled with huge forests, which is a good thing sometimes. I think that if some campgrounds were added, with lootable campers and buildings, they could be added in remote areas of the map where nothing else is atm. 2: make tents spawn here. people use tents at campgrounds, let this be a common spawn spot for tents. 3: have lots of outdoors equipment spawn here. stuff like rope, ducttape, fishing supplies, etc. could be a common item to find here. 4: Irishroy's idea: "Maybe also with a usable fireplace with more space (than a portable fireplace-kit) to cook more items on it?" I think that if these were implemented, it would be another place players could loot if they needed something such as a tent or outdoors items. Also, could be common place to find RV's that could be pulled behind your vehicle once they are implemented. Any feedback is appreciated, thanks.

    Improving realism, reducing KOS, etc.

Hi there, I read your post and have a few comments. 1: I like overall what you have to contribute, I personally have owned guns privately (never served in armed services) and pretty much everything you said is realistic, and would help the game greatly. I believe that the devs plan to reduce the spawn rates of high-powered military guns/ammo, once more low-tech weapons are added such as bows, spears, etc. Lots more people will have improvised weapons or low-powered guns such as .22's and the like, also the people with bigger caliber guns would be afraid to waste their ammunition, like you said. 2: One of the few things I disagreed with was having a random chance to spawn in with a weapon or something. I think if random items on spawn were implemented, I would like all of the possible items to be of the same value and rarity. For example, have people spawn with 1 or 2 items such as compass, water bottle, flashlight, walkie-talkie, can of beans, etc. Keep it fair and even. If some people spawned in with a handgun and others with an empty water bottle, I think that would be slightly unfair. 3: This isn't related to your post, I simply wanted to thank you for your service in the military. I would never have the balls to do it. Thank you. (also, I live in Illinois and was very happy when concealed carry was passed. thanks for that too :) )
  17. 1: Yes, loot does respawn right now. This is the first draft of it, so there may be errors and such in it but there is a basic system in place. 2: As far as I know it does not depend on the server. All servers have the same loot properties, even once they add private shards this will be one of the things admins aren't allowed to mess with. I know it works because yesterday I was looting NEAF (they re-did it? its much smaller now) and I looted the whole building, and was on the top floor. When I went back downstairs there was a chest pistol holder that was not there before, I assume it spawned there while I was upstairs.

    New WW2 Statue (0.47)

I have found 1 of these too, I was a fresh spawn when I found it so im not for sure where I was, I believe it was Novo.
  19. Hi guys, I just got mauled by like 3 zombies as a fresh spawn so I had to fend them off with a pitchfork. I lost enough blood that I have the black and white screen. I think this needs to be changed, or at least modified. Instead of taking away color, it should take away something else. Or simply give you messages in the corner. I say this because playing on the grey graphics simply isn't even fun. It makes the game feel clunkier then it already is, and ruins the experience. I have 2 possible solutions to this, tell me what you think below. 1: simply make it like hungry/thirsty is now, add messages in the corner, and as you get lower on blood start to walk slower, screen maybe get a little blurry, and so on until eventual death/unconsciousness. 2: Still have the grey screen, but be able to give yourself blood or have it heal overtime. Have a way to fix the grey screen requiring only you and some medical supplies. Anyway, theres my thoughts. You have any feedback post below. Criticism is appreciated too, but don't be belligerent about it. Thanks!

    Do we want vehicles?

Well, I agree with you and I don't. I think heli's and airplanes may be a bit much, but I think cars and such will be good. Remember that there will be many different playstyles. Some people will still stay on foot and hunt and live off the land. Why? because they will remain quiet, and stealthy and not be seen by other players. Some will use vehicles, and set up large base camps and go on raiding parties. Why? because they enjoy looting others and using brute force to overwhelm their opponent. I could go on about this. There are many different playstyles, each one offering distinct pro's and con's. Vehicles will simply add more ways to play the game. Also, all of the fun-running and such wont be gone. Remember that in a post-apocalyptic world, vehicles would be hard to maintain. Constantly needing gas, parts, etc. would be a hassle. I'm sure many people would just spend 20 minutes running instead of 20 minutes gathering parts to then spend 5 minutes driving. Everything we know and love now will always be there. Sorry my post is so long, but now im done. I hope you understand what im trying to say. Thanks for reading.

so am I hurt or what?

Lol, this happened to me literally 30 seconds ago. I was trying to find a daytime server so I was hopping, and almost every time I spawned in I heard a whimper. Don't know why its doing this.

Hell of a DayZ -Live Action Fan Film Trailer

Looks really good, definently will go watch it when you "release" it.
  23. I like what you have to contribute, would definently add another option as to what path you can take in this crazy game. I personally would probably not become a cannibal, but would for sure use the camouflage and such and live off the land in the woods. Would also be fun to go cannibal-hunting in high-pop areas. Good ideas, I like em all.

Any server without or less KOS´s ?

It doesn't exist. People will always KOS. My personal rule I use is that if they have a gun out, I shoot. Try and communicate to the people who don't or have it on their back, but if they have it out, shoot.

Can I Run DayZ Mod? (POST HERE)

Hmm...im gonna have to tell you no. I have a $400 laptop with slightly better specs, and I can run it fine. However, people with similar or better specs than mine are having troubles. If you find the perfect settings in-game and maybe mess with your files a bit, it may run it. Do you have a gaming desktop at home or something, or is this your permanent computer? If you have a better PC somewhere else id say go for it since you've got nothing to lose, but if I were you I probably wouldn't risk it on that machine. If you buy it and it doesn't work, upgrade the ram. Maybe get a new graphics card, even though they can get pricey. Idk, its up to you but it probably will either not work, or will run but on low settings and around 30 fps. Good Luck!
