    Guns and Gun Things that Should be Added

    About SKS that Ygoslavian SKS (which in the DZ) has no ability to carry the suppressor, instead it carries the rifle-grenade launcher aka like M1 Garand, Kar98k and Mosin 91/30 in WWII. But with your mod you can mod the behavior of SKS Bayonet (to make it as suppressor), or even write the AK_Suppressor as attachment.

    Well not matter how and why, I bet that's your code is fine, but DayZ has a bug or you not properly understanding the loading sequence or DZ. The init.c start's BEFORE any other mod, and all code inside the init.c will be executed without support of mods and etc, so all yours "#ifdef EXPANSIONMODQUESTS" amd sub modules from Expansion will failed to operate in yours mission, that's why in most of the cases you will get NULL-POINTER error. The best how you can fix that is implement addon (idk is it will be the Server or Cliet or even Both sides addon). I tried to fight with that long time and was failed over and over again. I hope that will give ideas what do you done wrong and suggestions how to override it with the right way. And anyway init.c is not that field where you shall fighting with the mods...

    You had forgot one part it is areaflags.map There you shall set the Color (in CE editor) and set the same color in XML. Territory type Herd i think that's wrong decision, tryout to set Bear. Also you need to get CE files for your map and reassemble the areaflags.map... Search for the guide how to use CE editor, that's might help you.

    Man really, search in Google, I'm not kidding, there's tons of guides and videos how to setup custom community server. At the BI wiki you can find examples of servers config (serverDZ.cfg), also copy of it contains in default server files. Idk maybe you shall set your question more sharper like what's servers machines are you using, what's config required and so on. It's not a problem to guide and explain you, but if you ask to describe all colors of the world result would be white... The same is here, may you please explain more detailed what do you wish to get and I can tell you how and what do you need to do. Feel free to type me the private messages and so on. Wide-like questions is too wide for the answer 🙂

    Sorry I don't create the hardcore server, but I made suppressors attachments on almost all firearms. So you can attach AK supp on M4 and etc. But sorry server has 1 trader zone and it's not hardcore.

    Man idk how old are you, but even 6 years old chiled knows how to write a question to the google and get the answer, try out maybe you'll met the luck? Really what's hard to write in search engine: "How to install DayZ Server?" or "How to install DayZ Server with Steam?" or "How to install DayZ Server with SteamCMD?"? Ok let's guess you've done with the first challenge, now the second: "How to configure DayZ Server?" And the last one "How to intall mods on DayZ server?" It's ends of first quarter of 21st century man, learn how to use search engines.

    To be honest it's always errors in init.c or JSONs. Just keep in mind that case and use the best idea (in software development) 'Better safe then sorry'. In that matter it means if you don't see the error that's not means that there's no error 😄

    First I shall ask you, do you using special spawn system (loadouts systems) on your server? Second I suggest you to try to replicate the issue (that will help you to find where did you or server had been messed up). If you are using the loadouts - walidate the configs of loadouts (json files) or each .c file (i have no idea how it's working on your server), that's the way how you can check and validate why and where the server failed to work.

    Man, idea is that's there's alot of content that's not working since 0.68 (when it was approved in the game in the working state, the were cutted of back to non op, but still in the game's files). That's small "tweaks" like adding old styled SVD (with wooden furniture) is the useless. Game has: 4 trucks (op only 1, 3 V3S and Kamaz named as Truck_02), Transit Bus (Ikarus 256, not working), two Vans (not working). Firearms: inpack the Weapons_Firearms and explore all elements, oh did you've seen the M249 & PKM in the game? - Right me 2 didn't seen it (Not working same as Mauser C96) and so on... To be honest i think the community is understood that the DZ is a "hall of void" and BI is the company that's can't make interesting projects (only give a plans and forgot about them) in reality it's called: "pumping money out of the community, for this DZ is suitable like nothing else." anymore coz what do i see is only - canceled or not working and when it will be returned no one knows (supposed to be never returned). And it will not stopping anywhen, how long do we hearing from BI "we will, blah-blah-blah" and what's in return - void. So remove your pink glasses and awake from the sleep. Already passed: 6 years - 13 December 2018 release date of 1.00 and game was published in steam (old engine) 16 December of 2013. And what do we have: hopes, expectations and still beta game version called as "release".

    Thermal? Why for, whatever it's useless item and before 2010th thermals not used anywhere on military service, if shooter required such equipment he could get it, but it's not a part of standard military equipment. So it's no use, use thermal at military ok but it's not for huge distances. So I bet that thermal scope will not appear in the game.

    Yet only one PBO contains all scripts and (open/visible) mechanics of the game is the DayZ\dta\scripts.pbo, any other PBO is only the wrapper around that addon, also theres hodden mechanics it's already codebase of DayZ.exe. But need to find how loot spawn machine is working in the game (callbacks and base classes) amd try to exted them, then extend configuration of loot spawn machine (allow admins edit propertues of machine and implement custom types), like spawn with AKM only 30 rnd mags or only 75 rnd mags, or random, or only ammo and etc for each class for implementation of better randomization. Yet with spawnabletypes.xml you can configure to spawn weapons with different loadouts, same as implement only one attached magazine of prefered types (dummy but works).

    You know I'd digged yesterday (by my timezone) scripts.pbo and didn't reached how loot spawn system works. Maybe bit later I'll try to search with other ways to reach the understanding coz that theme is quite interesting to me too. But yet no luck with it, anyway I think it shall be something quite simple and obvious but I didn't reach it yet xD

    If you didn't played in DayZ Mod (DZM) I'll tell you that firearms in DZM spawned with mags nearby. Like one AKM and 1 - 5 mags nearby that AKM. Player wants to recreate the same stuff in current DayZSA and asked for the help about how can he do it. (He'd expected that's DZSA loot spawn system is the same like it was in DZM). Actually it's not cares will mag be attached or deattached (it's the matter of spawn behavior and taste of server's admin). I think that's an interesting idea for implantation and at the base base it can be extended. For example not simply spawn the mags in a pile around firearm but also some ammunition and let player charge the mags. Or even try to change logic to randomization of item behavior like in one spawn you may find AKM with 2 mags, on next spawn AKM with several ammo piles and so on and on. I hope that you can understand what do I mean 🙂

    I think there's only one approach it's called 'direct'. Basic loot spawn system is not considering spawn 'loot stack'. You need to create custom mod (or server mod) that shall override the loot spawn mechanics. Also you need to explore EntityAI.c that file contains methods for checking item for example EntityAI.IsWeapon(), then you may cast EntityAI -> WeaponBase and check does it has magazine(s) and create function for spawn mags near the object, but also don't forget that we have 3 different logic of firearms in the game: 1. Firearm with Mag (AR15s, AUGs, AKs..) 2. Firearm with Internal Mag (SKS, Mosin91/30, Winchester 70...) 3. Revolvers (has multiple barrels (based on game logic), each barrel has 1 chamber for cartridge) and double barrel shotguns. So for 2nd and 3rd cases you can spawn nearby the ammo stacks or ammo packs. But as I said b4 current loot spawn system not allowing to preset spawn of pile (2 or more items) on the same spot.

    Search for DynamicMusicManager_Livonia, that's can be used as the base. All that new ambient attachet to the DynamicMusicManager class. More detailed I couldn't tell you coz removed dz and don't working with it anymore.

    They way how you want. On my way I prefer PBO Manager v1.4 an old (using sine 2010 year) but still useful program with fine GUI, what's BI was not able to do even in 2024 year.

    You know, the main issue of all mods is copying the classes and classnames. That's causing conflicts for the game. I think that's the case why your server is fail to start. Explore the logs to find why and what causing your server to crash.
