when I'm at a crash site I line myself up with the heli and walk a zigzag search pattern on both sides with my inventory window open. that way I don't miss much. -

two things are fairly obvious. - you screwed around for a while looking for guns and canned food, getting hungrier and hungrier before you finally picked some apples. when you first spawn, 1 or 2 apples apple fixes hungry. - you were probably never not sprinting. -

magazines can be full, empty, or partly full. clips would probably just be full or empty, because of how they're used. they're full until you load a gun, which makes it totally empty.

I've been finding yellow cases everywhere the last few days, so I've started dropping care packages for respawns at water pumps a respawn would probably pass. right now I'm just throwing in a water bottle and 4 slots of food. but I was thinking maybe there's something else a respawn might need more. like maybe a storage vest and a rope and a burlap sack? etc etc so the question is: if you've just respawned and you find a yellow case at a well, what would you hope would be in there? (no, I'm not putting in 6 stacks of .308)

that's 7 slots. :-p and I'm generally opposed to leaving weapons and ammo. we don't exactly need more armed douches on the coast.

there's a bug with apples? other than getting a hypothermia death sentence if you pick 6 apples on the wrong server, I mean.

On the usefulness of handguns and shotguns

for zeds, go in a building and shut the door. then easily kill the zeds through the window with a .22 or a pointy stick. for players, get a good scope and kill them before they know you're there. if you need to engage either in the open at close range, you did something wrong. -
canned food is gonna get less and less available (by design), so stop looking for the cans and get used to the other means of feeding yourself (which are everywhere and easy).

loose stuff on the ground won't stay. you want a barrel or tent.

use stone knife on a tree. get bark. get stick. cut stick in thirds. combine. you have 'matches'.

for those who use my public camp, that server got a persistence reset. checked the public camp, my private camp, and other people's camps I knew of on that server, and all are gone without a trace today. I got mookie'd. :-p (see 2 posts up from this one) I'll be back in business soon though. sorry about the inconvenience. [edit] got a couple of barrels now.

respawn timer is fine. if you die or relog on same server, almost no time, you server hop you wait a long time. yeah suiciding is a problem, but they can easily make suicide harder to do without messing with the timer.

they don't hit you at all if you press w for 15 or so seconds they also generally don't give a shit about you unless you're dumb enough to fire a gun in the middle of them -
ssd drives do help maybe a bit with game performance, but mostly just help reduce time in loading screens (when the hard drive is being accessed heavily). so the answer is it probably won't help much. I have an ssd and still get huge drops. the game just isn't optimized.

did they say they duped it, or are you just assuming because they had lots of stuff? I have (or had) all that and I'm one guy with no clue how duping works.
