you need a proper weapon. go cut a stick from a tree, aim center mass, and at the most they'll be able to hit you once in a fight. if you come up behind one before it aggros they usually don't even get to hit you once. if you run, it's possible you may aggro more and then you just multiply your problem. it's possible to lose them, but it's tricky now.

DayZ is fullscreen but off-center and partially on another monitor. Any suggestions on how to fix?

I think this is similar to what happens to me this patch. sometimes when I'm clicking on something else on my desktop as dayz is starting (like quickly shutting off media player). the game appears about 1/3 of a screen to the right and 1/3 of a screen down. clicking the game on the taskbar (which is still visible for me) until it minimizes it, then clicking it again, brings the game up as it should be. hope that helps. -

I don't use that teamspeak (I'm not on the 'rescue team' that started this thread), I just check the thread occasionally. people can ad me on steam if they have an urgent request. -
backpacks don't add slots to your hotbar at all. at least I've never seen a pack make a difference. and yeah I hate the new hotbar too.

only a couple of times. my very first spawn when I ran from a zombie, and by the time I realized they don't get tired anymore I had like 8 more of them on my ass. by the time I knew I had to stop and fight... nope. second time a crawler pushed me through an upper floor wall and the fall broke my legs, and half a dozen other zombies aggro'd and dogpiled me. all the other times were hypothermia.

because when you're surrounded by zombies people often drop their gun on the ground and walk away because they picked up a can of beans. XD

I've only gone on a couple of rescues, but so far none have gone badly. FYI to everyone: while fires are bugged and hypothermia is thus a bigger issue, I'll be available to deliver raincoats (and maybe food/canteens) to new spawns who are having trouble finding these things. -
just met with Just Caused. trade was very quick and easy.

BOARS OR RIOT also would be nice if you fixed fireplaces and campfire locations. the hypothermia thing would've been fine if fires could've been reliably placed and lit.
