I'd hate them to tone down the speed of the running. There's nothing more boring than having to get through a forest or whatever and doint it slowly would be horrible.

It seems to be tomorrow? Is that right? I cant find info on it. The Dayz official website has nothing. Im after a list of the changes? And are all characters being rest back to new player status?

Has anyone got a list/details of the next update?

Cheers, thanks for that -
Spending hours gearing up and travelling only to be reset (again) because you did the stupid thing called 'joining a server'. cuz alpha.

So, i logged in, and i was last in Elektro, near the Police station. Did a bit of looting and got some decent stuff. As I'm exiting the Police station, it was like dawn of the ****ing dead. I got attacked by 5 zombies at once, and they kept coming. I've never seen this many before, and they kept getting really accurate hits on me. I then went to the fire station, which is about 1 minute from the Police station and I heard them all below me again. Same thing as before. 12 bandages, 22 shotgun shells, 2 mosin rounds and a crap load of rage and axe swings later, i finally got to a house on a hill after killing 20 zombies, within about 600m radius. Im not sure if this was a server option, or a gameplay change since the patch, but i've never seen them attack so much before. A player with no firearms would have been killed easily. Also, shotguns are terrible. 2 hits at point blank to kill? Get out. On the plus side, i got a mosin scope and a police hat (I can finally try and get to an airbase and revenge snipe the scrubby bandits who hide within) On another note, i've watched gameplay videos, and nobody else seems to suffer blur, around the edges of the weapon when aiming. When using iron sights, i can basically see the thing straight down the barrell, and everything else is a horrible blur. It makes seeing things out of your peripherial vision, impossible. It's not injury blur, as im healthy, hydrated, not injured etc. Is this some sort of gameplay or graphic option?

Im getting seriously annoyed with handguns and the way they work in this game. Finding one is quite easy, along with the ammo. Finding a clip is impossible unless i wanna die in NWAF. So, i have the pistol, and the ammo in the inventory. I fire a shot (just hit a guy with 5 1911 hits btw and didnt die), then have to open the inventory, then either right click my ammo pile, or drag and drop ammo onto the gun in my hands, to load, yet another, single round. Is there no quick way of doing this? Having to basically run in a circle being chased by an axeman and dragging inventory items around all for the sake of 1 round is stupid. All pistols shouldnt be empty anyway. I mean, who the hell has a pistol and no clip anywhere near it? It just makes them to awkward and too much hassle most of the time, unless im goofing it up all the time and doing it wrong.

Actually I was rocking the thick rimmed regular spectacles, as I cant see very far.

Just tried sniping for the first time ever. It's difficult. My long rang scope is damaged which doesnt help, tried camping the NWAF and saw two guys in a building. Over the course of about 10 minutes, fired 7 rounds which all missed. I was in the forest on the far side of the airfield and they were in the main loot building near the fire station. I guessed at 300/400m. They fired the odd M4 shot at me but they had no idea where I was, then i got scared about all the noise we were making on a full server and ran away :P Anyway, sniping is a bit of a letdown. Now you have no bipod, it's hard to fire straight, even in prone when breath holding. Figuring out ranges is hard too. Im also annoyed I cant see where my shots are hitting. When the shot is fired, in a game like BF, you can stay down the scope, or the scope stays pretty fixed while loading the next round in. My scope is flinging around to the sky as my guy loads the next round in, but some gameplay videos dont seem to do this. Is it a patch change? On another note, what handguns are you all using? I've got a 1911, a P1 and an FNX with just 1 mag for the 1911. I dont like the fact you only get 7 rounds in it, but cant find a FNX mag anywhere. Annoying, as i've got about 85 .45 rounds! I've tried to use a CR75 in the past but it seems way too weak to be any good. Not tried the P1 yet but i bet its rubbish too. So, any sniping tips or handgun preferences?

Tbh, im only really putting so much effort into my pistol because all I have is a mosin which im using to try and snipe. When i've had an M4 in the past, i've never given much thought to pistols. The SKS is another matter, im not a huge fan of it, it feels too bukly to me, but maybe i need to give it another go. The inventory is too clunky to mess about with pulling scopes on or off, and I just think that at close range, being able to loose off 4 or 5 rounds in 2 seconds is going to keep me alive longer than going accurate close range Mosin shots. Because of how fast people can run in this game and how glitchy and laggy it can be, taking your chance with single action mosin shots is taking a big chance imo. In relation to the map suggestion on dayzdb, is there a specific part of the map youre using to figure out the range? Im ust using the squares and having a bit of a guess, but the suggestion seems to be you can somehow draw point to point and get an accurate 'to the metre' figure?

I disagree. I leave everything open. When I go into a town and see open doors, I get worried there might be a team of 4 bandits around the corner. Also, if I see open doors, i'll bypass the town and move to another. If i think this, hopefully others will to, and stay away if they see open doors. Closed doors are an invite for people to come sniffing around.

They're still the same, but it was hard when there was 4 of them as they would crash into each other and their paths would overlap. Their reach was still quite far, one of them managed to glitch up some stairs but only half their body was visible.

It had about 10 people on it. Im unsure, is it best on or off?

Personally, I think grenades, or any type of explosive is pretty pointless. Combat is clunky and awkward at the best of times, you're realistically not going to easily get good nade hits off. Especially seeing as every player in the game can run faster than Usain Bolt and just charge you down, whilst you spend 18 minutes frantically trying to switch from nades to an M4. I'm also down with the .50 cal. Just make sure its regulated. Does anyone remember Americas Army? The .50 in that was perfect. It was very difficult to run with, you couldnt carry that much ammo, hipfiring was pointless as every shot hit the moon, and to be effective, you had to take the time and the place to 'set up' the weapon. In a 40 player server with a map as big as chernus, i'm still gonna be worried about bumping into 2 or 3 guys with M4's camping a Police station rather than some scrub sat on a hill 1 mile away with a 50. -
Since the recent update, my character seems to get wiped every time i log out. It doesnt matter how, when, where or why I log out, it wipes. I've had it when i've been kicked from a server too, and had reset during a crash. When i log back in, 75% of the time i spawn with the fractured leg. Obviously because it resets so much, this can be avoided. Being able to punch and have something in my hands no longer works. Melee no longer works. I've checked the key bindings and they are as normal. On the plus side, i saw a moose the other day when i was rolling around with my leg fracture. Anyone else suffering with nonsense like this since the patch?

Anyone elses game unplayable since recent update?

I just wish servers had more than 40 people. I hardly see anyone. I started again today, new bambi. Had an empty backpack on me, a dmaged machete and low quality clothes. It's obvious i wasnt worth anyones times. Saw a newish guy running through a field, being followed by a zombie. I went and punched the zombie to death, tried to make friends and say hello. Pulled out a magnum and wasted all 6 bullets on me. I've now decided im never speaking to anyone in this game again. Everyone i see is getting stabbed or shot first. -
I've not got a mic so I cant talk to anyone in game :( However, a couple of times when i've seen people, i've typed using 'direct communiction' ( the / key) and never had any response. But i've also bumped into lots of people and they never seem to speak. Not once has anyone voiced over to try and speak to me, and either say hello or threaten me or anything. I know direct/voice chat is limited by range, but in gameplay videos, people seem to always talk when they see someone, but i've never had it happen to me. Am I just unlucky or is this a problem at my end?
