My Sam Fisher inspired character. Obviously edited, but still; cool.

I voted "Give me a parachute" jokingly thinking it would be cool to have hang gliders like in Cube World (did anybody here play that game?) I am all for aerial transportation, but as stated above countless times; the time/player investment into fixing up a helicopter should be massive. Just imagine, rumour on your server spreads that there is finally a functioning chopper flying around. Countless fun and adventures could be had from that. My main concern is the size of the current Chernarus map. Considering a player on foot can travel from Kamenka to NWAF within 25 minutes; I question the need for aerial transportation. Unless of course the KM2 of Chernarus is expanded. (Maybe more islands S and E, with more land W and N?) Cheers, Act III

Hey, awesome thread! Several months ago I organized something very similar to this; only with 2 other buddies though. :( Back in 0.47(?) when Cernaya Polana was the newest town we had set up a "paintball" match just like yours. Location: 125 015 Car Lot. It makes for an AMAZING playing field that could easily yield 5-10 players. Plenty of cover and hiding spots to make for a fun match! I highly recommend this location for your upcoming event, friend! I wish you luck with this event, I unfortunately cannot come along. I request somebody to record and upload this! Stay warm, Act III

Good afternoon forum! As I do, I'm sure some of you prefer using Pristine medical bandages over self-made rags simply due to aesthetics. I am wondering if there is any difference between the two items in terms of how it affects your character? Do medical bandages provide more protection from the next hit, etc? I am almost certain the two items have identical use and purpose. I find it odd how with Bandages you get four uses out of the item, yet rags can stack up to 6. Disadvantage using the legitimate medical items seems a little odd. Has anybody tested this? Stay warm, Act III

Ah, I'm the same way. I just feel better using the bandages. I am excited to see the medical system develop more in the future!

Being 14 is the same as being 10. I had interest in adding you, but you seem a lil young.

Canon.... pfffft ;)

Good man! I am glad to see other's taking it at a slow pace. Ever since the implementation of temperature systems I've only ever sprinted to escape combat/defend myself. Walking has countless benefits; you make less noise, you become a smaller target, you can see other moving objects easier and your character remains much healthier. I've learned to spend at least a couple hours in each major city before moving on. Otherwise DayZ simply becomes, run around, loot and hope to see players to shoot them.

Very nice stuff my friend! I assume you take photographs IRL? I am also a photographer, and oh my do I love some good DayZ photography! Kudos. The prison island shot is outstanding by.

Now that Ghillie Suits are underrated due to the overload of OREL uniforms at the Prison, here is my current character. KD: 2.00 (self defense)

Nope! This was in Novy Sobor, my friend. -
Well considering that is how our eyes work in real life, seems to make sense; no? The iris will expose for the brightest areas by reducing its diameter, causing the lower exposed areas to become even more black. Just like a camera lens.

I like to limit myself to using the in-game walkie talkies as opposed to skype/ventrillo. As Odin Lowe stated, it adds a huge element of immersion into the game. It is cool because you can also send text messages with the walkie talkies. When you press "/" and type (as you would normally), it sends to other walkie-talkies if they're tuned into the same frequency.

Will these buildings ever be enterable in future?
Act III replied to AmazingAussie's topic in General Discussion
I'd like to believe so. -
Hello forum! Just curious as to how many of you out there try to mentally immerse yourself into the game as much as possible. For example, for months now I've decided to only use the in-game maps for navigation and walkie-talkies to communicate with friends. As opposed to having DayZDB open on my second monitor and using Skype/etc. Do any of you have little tricks to help your mental involvement? If not, I suggest you try what I do with the maps and walkie talkies. It adds a little bit of a challenge to the game. Postscript: I have not played DayZ in weeks now and I really want to play. I cannot wait to get my setup back and explore Prison Island!

Yeah dude, I touched 3PP once. 1PP all the way, to me there is literally no point in playing 3rd person. Also yesssss, the bow is godly once mastered.

Oh man, I feel you brother. I used to smoke a fat one before every DayZ session. But no longer do I smoke. Good times though, good times.

You practically can play paintball in the standalone as is. Get a group of friends, everybody needs to find a Sporter with a 30 round .22 clip, a ballistic helmet and locate yourselves at the car lot on the Eastern side of Cernaya Polana. It is the perfect arena for a paintball/pellet gun fight. With the sportier and the helmets, nobody will die. :D HAVE FUN http://dayzdb.com/map/chernarusplus#7.125.015

Glad to see others try to make the most out of what the game has to offer. :) Personally I have not gotten tired of the standalone since the hour of release, mostly because I make my own fun. Tis the greatness of DayZ!
-
Hmmm I've actually done everything you mentioned. But I agree that all these little elements most people take for granted definitely make the game experience so much better!

Act III replied to LORDPrometheus's topic in General Discussion
The nicest thing I've done was give a stranger all my gear. I had a complete ghillie suit, with high cap vests and pretty much all the end-game gear needed. I was getting tired of the OP end-game items and wanted to start fresh. My characters generally live for weeks at a time. -
Why is such a drastic increase in enterable buildings considered a good thing?
Act III replied to BC_Hawke's topic in General Discussion
Having as many enterable buildings as there are now (with more to come) is a fantastic thing! It should keep you on the edge of your seat, knowing that virtually at any moment somebody might be watching you. Vice Versa. It adds an element stealth in PvP, and as mentioned above. Come the implementation of a better infected AI, you will rejoice in more places to shelter for survival. I also agree that Chernarus should eventually extend further North, East, South and West. More land mass N and W, with more islands S and E. -
Meet & Greet hosted by [FOG] (Jan. 18th, Sun.)
Act III replied to blunce's topic in General Discussion
Hey just to update. Remove me from the list, unfortunately I will not be able to attend. I moved into my new place yesterday and won't be ready to game by tomorrow! I will join events in the future though! And as always, I'll come prepared as a fully functioning medic next time! Have fun boys and girls! -
Alot of my good friends who I play with, I met through leaving notes around with my steam ID attached. I heavily role play in any server, and leaving notes is a huge part of that. And we all know, come a game-wide persistence, notes and everything else will become so much cooler.
