They can do that anytime. It's not the devs that control the complaints coming from the community. I get how annoying it is to see things constantly getting delayed and having to wait for something we all want so very badly but complaining about it doesn't help. Pressurising devs into giving timescales won't help either. I mean you may get a patch released on whatever date they'd said but I may not be of a high quality because they didn't wait a week or a month or however long to iron out massive bugs. Far better to wait and let things happen. The game currently is perfectly playable. It's not like we are seeing the massive amounts of desynch that littered previous patches. The main bugs are not being able to loot bodies and the weapon glitching. I could gladly play on this for a while as I wait for .60, I'd rather this than the mess that was .57.

Oh dear God no. No eta's please... the fuss people made when the devs said they hoped .60 would be out by the end of February and missed it was (and still is) ridiculous. If they gave an ETA, even a broad 'q4' one, do you really think the vocal portion of the community would accept any form of delay.

Zombies start moving when players are nearby?!?!
stinkenheim replied to Luc Tonnerre's topic in General Discussion
I'll check. Not sure if I had my new pc or not then but I certainly used it when loot spawned like crazy in those guard houses. Novo is an underused town but had a fair few of those in the industrial area. I was able to sit on top of the radio tower and gauge when players were coming in because zombies would suddenly start moving. Couldn't have been .58 because there were no zombies in the game. As I say, I'll check my hdd and see. If not then we'll just have to agree to disagree. -
The devs aren't scared to 'break' experimental as you put it. There have been many experimental builds over the development cycle that were horrific to play on. They need to resolve the issues with the renderer to ensure that it works when they put it in otherwise it would be a pretty shitty patch if you couldn't see anything on screen.

Zombies start moving when players are nearby?!?!
stinkenheim replied to Luc Tonnerre's topic in General Discussion
No, it isn't. I know I used it in Novo to see if anyone was around during .57 (I think). It was certainly before this patch because I used the mosin with LRS. -
Little point in this imo. Doors would only be locked for the first person to encounter them. On a full server that resets every 6-12 hours it'd be unlikely that you'd encounter a locked door after a few hours.

If it's a bug it's been in there for several patches. I know the zombies behaved this way when the moving still accepted the long range scope. -
About the new .60 performance comparison
stinkenheim replied to Ironhuge's topic in General Discussion
I think it was twofold. Firstly that's the way he sounds. Listen to videos of him and streams etc. He isn't a presenter as such. He details the facts and that's about it. Secondly he sounded like he was reading a prepared statement which is good. It means there is less room for him to be misunderstood. -
About the new .60 performance comparison
stinkenheim replied to Ironhuge's topic in General Discussion
This is pathetic. The devs can literally do nothing right by this community. Everyone complains that the game isn't optimised and you can't get 60 fps with an i7 and 980ti. They release a video showing the first version of the renderer technology that doubles average fps in big cities and now that's not good enough. No, we want super HD textures on things 3km away and bushes and trees that show every single leaf from the other side of the map. Ffs guys come on. They have said they are working on improving the quality of foliage.they want there to be denser woodland areas. They are working on improving the aa on objects and reducing the load on systems to allow for higher quality graphics but it won't happen in the first iteration of the new renderer. Thank you to the devs for taking the time to show everybody direct comparisons between legacy and new technology. I for one appreciate it and look forward to seeing how you can further utilise the new tools in the future -
The devs have already said it won't be a standard beta. Expect them to continue to tinker with features besidesuch just bug fixing when the game enters official beta.
-
I see this game's beta beginning when the new engine segments are all implemented (not fully iterated but all initially implemented). After that I think it'll be big additions like base building and flying vehicles which will be the features added.
-
It's meant to be like that. It's like going abroad and looking at a map you got in a gift shop. It'll tell you where things are but you have to find out where you are first before it makes sense

Can confirm there is a boar spawn around khelm/berizinho. Found it there three times on different servers.
-
Forgive my ignorance but what is the difference? If they are both firing the same round and use the same mags is there any need? I guess one is more of a sniper weapon than the other but I think the game has enough of those in it at the moment.
-
Cars spawn loot but only cars with doors/boots that open on them. The burnt out pick up trucks and such don't spawn loot at the moment.

TENTS and PERSISTENCE, Keep-Out PUBLIC SERVERS and THE DEVS
stinkenheim replied to pilgrim*'s topic in Suggestions
I'm guessing that if BI dedicated time to combating abusive servers the forums would fill up with complaints like 'why are they wasting time on that when the game runs like shit'. Kind of like the arguments that happen every time a new model or item is shown, people don't understand that different departments deal with different areas and will complain unless it is the exact thing that they want to see done. I don't think this is a massive issue whilst the game is in Alpha, towards the end of Beta and certainly upon full release yes. But not now. -
Is anyone else concerned that the NewUI is a big step back?
stinkenheim replied to WilliamTheConqueror's topic in General Discussion
The new ui was literally just the rough and ready code version. No time has been spent getting it working or looking beyond the initial iteration. Complaining about how it looks or the differences between new and old is redundant -
The roadmap relates to internal milestones

Iirc the double shot does not fire simultaneously but instead is a slight delay that varies on fps. The higher the fps the less delay between the two shots. This means that there are times when the shots will land a foot or so apart.
-
Animal life cycles, advanced behaviour, predatory animals and tracking have all been confirmed. Iirc tracking and predators in the last status report.

How is it immersive? I didnt play the mod but i know what you mean. How long would it take in real life for a body to become host to that many flies, im guessing hours in some conditions but likely days. Imo, no. Leave it out of the game because it wouldn't improve anything.
-
I have had it happen a few times with myself and my friend and I've seen it plenty of times in streams where two streamers are playing together. Punching the door/wall will usually reset the doors to the correct position and also re-logging normally fixes things. AFAIK it's been an issue since the exp builds of this patch.
-
The axe guy could have been doing the weapon glitch/stuck animation thing which means there are no footstep sounds. Also there is the issue with doors being open/closed on one screen but not the other so it's possible he was able to walk through doors which were open on his screen and axe you without you knowing. A lot of ifs and buts but then there is the same thing with desynch or hacks tbh.

I play public with my friend and private when on own. Of the 4 or 5 private servers I use there is a good split between pvp and interactions, I do know that going on some of those servers I am more likely to get pvp as opposed to an interaction so it's just a case of understanding the community (Grumpy Gamers and Gents of Novo ime are above average in interactions whilst ones like Blue Waffle have been far more likely to pvp.) Play on them for a while and suss out the community until you find one you like.

It's no longer spawning in Quonset huts due to loot farming so is only available from crash sites. Each server has 3 crash sites which can be either russian or NATO, stands to reason that it has become massively rare. Do you have proof it is not spawning? If you don't then I wouldn't go around shouting that people are lying. If you have evidence then post it on the feedback tracker and inform the devs
