Where is loot in .55 update ?

dayzdb has a great map that you can use or izurvive is also good. easiest way to determine what town you are in is the town names (obviously) or water pumps are quite nice to check with

    when we can expect 0.56?

1- I've used hacksaws and knives this patch and been receiving around the 80% mark from them (sometimes up to 90+% with the hacksaw), maybe try with pristine/worn items if you are having issues. 2- this is the same issue as when you can't pick up items and when you die from no where on the second floors- desynch is causing the game to think you're somewhere else. Vaulting apparently helps to solve this issue but it's not something I have had many issues with this patch. 3- again, not seen any zombies glitching through walls this patch. Best patch by far for this. 4- If you hit a zombie with a weapon it will stagger backwards a step or two so there are push backs, it just isn't a seperate button like in Dying Light. May be something done later on in development but I doubt it if the keep the stagger from impacts. 5 and 6- the game runs on accelerated time in regards to metabolism. There would be no issue with survival if you only needed to eat and drink once every few hours as you can do a complete loop of the map in that time. This isn't a bug or an issue it is part of the game design for a survival game. 7- this is a bug (the soundless zombie) and will be fixed. As for ruining gear, its been in the game since day 1 and doesn't happen all the time. Some items seem more prone to it than others- I'm looking at you, Riders Jacket. 8- this is a legacy from the Arma series where it will apply damage to an area of the body and anything in there will also take the damage. It's why shooting someone in the arm can cause their entire jacket and contents of jacket to be ruined. It may get altered as the game progresses but that would probably require seperating pockets so that they relate to different sections on the clothing and would likely put the server under a heavier workload. 9- an issue with the first iteration of central loot economy, things will be altered as items are tagged to spawn in more appropriate places. Until then enjoy wearing that poop covered jacket lol 10- I'm assuimng you mean when you log in 'under' an item, if so then it's a bug. Most games have them at full release and unless they massively affect the gameplay and are happening a lot then they won't be fixed until we move from Alpha into Beta. Think about the rubber banding issues and random server crashes from a few patches ago that were rampant on experimental and delayed the push to stable- it's that sort of bug that will be highest priority. 11- Again this could be desynch- the server thinking you were stood in a different spot or it could be that you dropped it in a tree/bush in which case chances are chopping them down will result in your object appearing. Also be careful in some buildings because loot has a habit of vanishing through the floor (not all but some) and sometimes loot appears on the floor above or below the one you are currently on e.g drop it on 1st floor it may appear on 2nd or ground floor. 12- I find many items looting in buildings, some are useful some are not, sometimes I will get 5 or 6 items in a house sometimes none. If you knew every house spawned one item it'd get too dull and boring, like last patch when everyone went I'll check this, this and this house and I'll have a gun for sure. More variety and more exploration is important to make this game feel fluid.

Where is loot in .55 update ?

I play on a server which is almost always 50/50 and was killed yesterday, respawned at the top of Svet by the petrol station and by looting the top third of the town I walked away with a trumpet, the 8 pocket military coat, fully hydrated/energized, a box of .22 ammo, an axe, drybag, matches, pso scope, canteen and high cap vest. Most of that stuff was found in sheds and outhouses with all the ammo/weapon attachments in the jeep next to the police station. When people say 'get off the coast' they don't mean you have to go miles in land you simply need to move to the smaller outlying towns normally and leave Elektro/Cherno/Berezinho and you'll probably be fine. I had a similar story to this on another character (1pp) where I spawned by the factory near Sol and was pretty much fully energized and hydrated before I left simply by looting the small row of houses just above the factory on the coast.

    when we can expect 0.56?

The loot is in the process of having the 'tags' adjusted so they are configured properly. By that I mean items spawn in the correct places- military guns in military areas for example.

Frying pan + cooking tripod does not work?

I've never used the frying pan, just thinking out loud about the gas stove

Frying pan + cooking tripod does not work?

I'm guessing they are still bugged, they certainly have been since they were first introduced. Or maybe they only work on the gas stove?

    Lost Gear

If it was private chances are they haven't turned persistence on due to the current bug regarding loot on private servers.

Long Range Scope and Mosin Ammo

It's spawns in the same place as everything else- everywhere. There's little rhyme or reason to where things can be found atm, best chance is toilet/outhouse buildings, jeeps and brown garden sheds because they have a lot of loot in them generally.

    55. Experiencience Improvements

Yeah I found a frying pan yesterday and took it, half an hour later found 3 pots. Was soooo happy haha

    55. Experiencience Improvements

You can store items in the cooking pot in .55. The only thing I haven't seen recently is the tripod but then again, if you make the furnace (stones + fireplace) I don't think you need it to cook the food. Also it won't be long before you can cook with food on sticks and they have already spoken about alternative cooking methods (like boiling) so I would hope that once that is implemented you will be ale to combine items to create more advanced recipes, even if it is just a type of stew (potato, meat, water for instance). I'm really enjoying this patch, as hard as it is the whole thing feels more meaningful to me.

Why isn't it possible to wipe duped items?

Duping and general exploiting is standard behaviour in any game with the potential to do it. Doesn't make it right, but considering how early in development the game is, the more ways that they can find to dupe gear now the fewer should make it through to the final version. Duped gear will eventually be able to be identified and central loot economy is a huge part of making that happen but it will take time.
  13. The upgraded fire place still requires a pot, at least it did in the stream I watched yesterday evening.
  14. From my limited experience in this patch it seems to be that by simply going to the smaller towns and looting in previously useless buildings you will find enough to survive for a while. I spawned near Svet on my last (and current) character and after little under an hour am fully healthy/hydrated/energized with a blaze, 30+ rounds for it, several boxes of magnum ammo, a backpack, press vest, canteen, two packs of rice and enough gear to start farming and cooking food. It's hard, in fact the hardest thing initially was finding enough rags, but I am impressed with this patch. Far more so than most before it.

    items vanishing off of me

It might be server desynch with the actual item- as in you loot it but it stays on the floor for other players. If they then pick it up the server updates it's position to be on them. Saw it in a stream the other day when someone switched weapons and their m4 stayed on the ground, the other player was able to strip it of all attachments by removing them from the gun on the floor. Or it could be an old hack that's resurfacing. Or it could be some other thing entirely.

Loot is extremenly broken at the moment

From what I've seen an heard, that should read 'this WAS not normal!', it appears to be very much the norm from now on though. The devs said that when they introduce more ways to cook canned food spawns would be massively reduced so we would have needed to get used to it at some point.

    V3S is a Zombie 0.55

If you are sat in the back when a zombie gets on board look in first person, it's truly terrifying.

    +edit+ double posted, sorry

    Such DayZ

So you went there looking for action and post you got shot and killed... Fair enough you say you weren't bandits but if are well armed around places like beri or kami then people will assume you are there to shoot everyone and won't take a risk. Sounds like they did what the majority of players would have done... Also, did you have guns drawn?

    Stuffed?

I don't have too much of a problem with this to be honest, I try and eat things like peaches, tuna/sardines and spaghetti as they hydrate and energize you. If that's not possible then just eating little bits often is how I do it, you probably know already but you have three stages of stuffed (light, heavy and vomit inducing) so you can actually fit quite a bit in.

    Watching you watching me?

Out of curiosity, how are the admins to know if anyone is suspicious? Players identities are annonomised util you check their pulse, there are no name tags popping up over people's heads, there's no way to report suspicious behaviour to the admin immediately. It just seems like a massive call to say 'my spider sense is tingling, I think there's someone duping gear or scripting on my server. I know, let me take a look through the eyes of all 39 players just in case something is amiss!' Or, is it more likely that as an admin is running around and gets shot at he'd think 'oh crap, where's that coming from? Let me just check out on my magic map of player positions... Aha, there in that woods it's someone in a ghillie suit. Fortunately the map also talks me the range to him...' I think it's clear we highly disagree with the concept of this as a tool or ability the admins should have. I personally don't wish to see it ever implemented, I think there are alternative solutions (be it more accurate server logs/improved BE etc) that would be less exploitable by admins. I also disagree with the idea that because someone is paying for a public hive server that they should be able to do anything they want on it, if they want to impose rules and restrictions and have free reign over the way the server is run then go private, just my opinion.
  22. stinkenheim

    Watching you watching me?

And what if the admin is not a legit player? You have just opened the whole player list to the admin so they can see what is going on with everyone. There are all ready enough clan servers and badmins where the server gets reset if they die or to farm loot. The last thing I want is for an admin to also be able to see exactly where I am on the map, what I can see on my screen and what I am doing at that moment so that he can tell his friends how best to kill me or simply do it himself. There are other ways admins should be able to monitor what happens without the need for a spectator mode, it's far too open to exploitation IMO.
  23. stinkenheim

    Watching you watching me?

No admin should be able to use spectator mode IMO. It's too open for abuse and easily used by admins in a clan to directly point out to their friends where enemies are and what they are doing. No way do I think this should ever be accessible for anyone outside of things like the Survivor Games or if a server is empty in which case using this could enable creation of cinematics for Youtube content creators.

    Does DayZ need aeiral transport?

'Meh.' My initially response to flying vehicles in DayZ. Honestly, I think there is minimal point in having them in, the V3S (and other land vehicles) have already made moving around the map an easy task (providing they don't bug out on simple terrain). I think the addition of fliers may unbalance things too much, especially as I hope there will not be extremely powerful weapons in the game and therefore it will be harder to damage then with conventional rifles. I also dislike the idea of every survivor suddenly becoming an expert pilot, I realize they may have all watched Airwolf, Top Gun and the A-Team but that shouldn't mean they can fly with the same ability as an action hero. Also there is the fuel issue, diesel from the pumps should not be used as the aviation fuel. Kerosene should be in extremely short supply and only found in the air fields, you should also not be able to fill up from within the vehicle. In short, leave it to cars and boats that almost everybody can work out how to use with minimal fuss and don't add in things that 99% of people could not repair, maintain or pilot.

    Watching you watching me?

As I understand they had special tools allowed by the dev team for survivor games. It's not something a normal, legit admin can do
