  1. Anyone else experiencing random tent wipes this patch after server restarts? (even if your tents survived a few restarts)? Just logged on after a quick break (in which time the server had restarted and a bit of time passed) and reconnected to find that all 8 of my tents had vanished. All tents in the area appear to be gone as well...
  2. I am currently looking around for a Dedicated Server that should be capable of hosting at least 2 DayZ servers on and a TeamSpeak. If you have any companies you recommend that have experience with DayZ, feel free to post links. Also, are there any Game CP's out there with DayZ support? Thanks!

    to own a server

    Most Dedicated servers capable of hosting DayZ/ArmA2 run between $150-300 a month depending on the quality of server you get and the company you choose to rent from. Most companies charge extra for windows, additional IP's, bandwidth, etc. I am currently seeking a dedicated server but am leery of how hard it would be to setup multiple servers on a box and maintain them properly (without there being any game control panel systems that support DayZ from what I find).

  7. With the popularity of DayZ comes a swarm of new players and seemingly a lot of hackers as well. Being one of several leaders and Administrator of the upcoming Survival Operations community, we have a lot of people working together when we move into an area, and it seems that every time we start an OP we come into contact with individual players who attempt to engage on us. Many times (like what just happened to us 10 minutes ago) said player is a hacker. What Just Happened? 9 of us well armed with assault rifles (AKM/M16/M4/AK 74) and various other long range weapons (DMR / CZ550). With established security and over-watch positions we were set to be pretty safe in our movement and operation. We were engaged by one (1) single enemy player who spawned into the Air Traffic Control Tower. A friendly in the ATC unloaded a mag of AKM into the enemy player at sub 5 meters distance and the enemy player shot him once with a pistol killing him. Directly after the player began taking pot shots at others. Another friendly spotted him and put a DMR round into his head , seemingly doing nothing. A friendly then engaged him through the window putting several rounds on target while he was heading up the stairs. He was then 1 shot killed as the player turned and shot him. I then maneuvered onto the ATC's Ladder access from the north and began my climb up. When I reached the top of the ATC i took cover behind a table of sorts that was up against the glass from the inside and peaked in from around it, spotting the player crouched over a friendly body. I set my AKM for 100m range and put 3 single shots into the back of said players head, he then stood up and i switched to full auto and dumped the remaining mag into his chest as he ran down the stairs. After this I moved around to the top of the stair well from outside the top of the ATC looking down to the second level through the glass where i spotted the player crouched looking up. I put another mag into him before dropping down behind the wall for cover to reload (when i did this he returned fire with his sidearm). After taking some return fire I moved across to enter the top level of the ATC and took a position looking down the stairs. Shortly after doing so the player rushed up the stairs at me (sub 5m) and I unloaded yet another AKM mag into his chest. Directly afterwards taking 1 shot from a sidearm and dieing. The player did not attempt a second shot (seemingly knowing his single shot would be a guaranteed kill). After my being killed 2 additional friendly survivors assaulted him with a direct attack and full out onslaught of lead, both being killed instantly within 1 second each only taking 1 shot from a sidearm each. At this time, the remainder of the friendly players disconnected as it was apparently that the player was hacking and was invincible. This is only one of several times this has been seen by our group alone. Just yesterday we had a nuke dropped on our NW Airfield while we had a small team of players scouting it out. How many others are seeing this on a daily basis, do you feel it is getting worse or is slowly settling down? Ideas for solutions, etc?

    At this point' date=' I'm not sure if the leg breaking issue is due to zombie damage, or a problem with the leg break code itself. [/quote'] Its would be safer to crawl over rock formations than to try to crawl in buildings and near stairs, lol!
  10. Hello, fellow Survivors and Bandits! Meta here from Survival Operations! Just wanted to inform the community of some things as well as gather some feedback about a few things... Survival Operations will be officially launching our website within the coming week and opening for applications. In addition to this we will be holding monthly drawings via the website (sometimes a single winner, sometimes multiple). What I am wondering is what types of items would everyone like to see in the drawings each month? (Currently planned to do a few ArmA2:CO drawings to start) What types of features would the community like to see on the website? What type of video content do you prefer watching? (Let's Play Survival type series or just clips of events edited together into a highlight style reel, etc.) Additional ideas/comments/content you have for us!     Pending Update: Build 1.7.2

    For those having their Icons hidden behind the Debug Monitor, try bumping your resolution up. This will give your screen more space to display the HUD and Debug Monitor without shrinking down your HUD so small you can't even see it. If anything you could even increase resolution and hud size!

    Is there any chance that something can be done about the Debug Forest its self? * Move it to an impossible location to reach like in the ocean? * Give Debug Forest "God Mode" (as long as it don't cause your actual player to have it)? **Create a Trigger in the Debug Forest area that if you fire it will kill you or your shot is stopped at the end of your barrel (include this for m203 and frags) - Reference the Domination spawn protection. This is the biggest issue we have currently with DayZ as every time we go on server and start do do Ops or move vehicles, there is someone in the debug forest killing us. The current changes being made for the Debug Forest are good, but will still not prevent players from going there to kill the server.

    Pending Hotfix: Build 1.7.1.5

    Would it be possible to have a hotfix that does something about the debug forest? Every time the Survival Ops group starts to move our vehicles to a new location or starts to run an OP, everyone on the server magically falls out dead because of someone in the debug forest... Its getting extremely aggravating, because it was not just 1 of us who died, it was 45+ people on server who all died at once. All that gear was lost from our group and now we have no clue where our vehicles will end up...
  14. Have noticed that sometimes when you get hit and bleed the HUD does not show you are bleeding but you can see blood flowing out of you. Logged out and back in a few minutes later with nearly 9k blood lost and was now showing hud bleeding.

    AWWW YEAH! Those of us within the Survival Operations team are highly excited about Melee weapons! The adjustment to night time is also a welcome change, even tho most of us have been using NVG's but are starting over fresh now.

    "Gut Zombie"

    I like this idea. But heres my idea for Pro's//Con's. Swimming in ArmA is to buggy in the sense that when you swim you generally drop all of your equipment to the bottom of the ocean. One thing that could be used with this in future patch is that wearing Zombie Guts would add a slight sound of flies to your player (increasing detection by players) and could increase detection by bears in the woods (they smell you). Adds a good positive and 2 negatives (thus is situational in its usage). Should be able to be removed as well via water bottles! The detection radius of zombies should be greatly reduced while wearing guts however.

    Build 1.7.1 Rolling Update

    One thing that is better is that teamwork and tactics as well as communication to survive any length of time. Proper tactics and communication is now nearly required to make it out of starting zones. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Down side is any gun shots will attract EVERY zombie in whatever town you are near, and zombies seem to continually respawn more so now than ever. Was just at NW Airfield in the South Barracks and shot once with an AK and 100+ zombies came in just from what I killed alone and we still had more swarming. This killed all 3 of us who all had good weapons and food and blood bags. Zombies were hitting through the walls of the barracks, many spawned inside on our arrival, etc. It seems to punish players for killing ANYTHING at all. It is now a game of crawl on your belly to collect gear you can not use. ============================================================================= ============================================================================= Where the game was previously better to play During the Day time until NVG's were acquired, I feel that is no longer the case. Zombies see you in the day time no matter your speed or stance of movement. It appears that the LOS changes have totally caused the Eyes & Ears feature of the game to be null and void. Night time is the only time to run ops, or even move for that matter. LOSing zeds during the day so far has not caused them to stop following me. If they even bother to pause, they just pick right back up chasing me and easily catch up.

    Build 1.7.1 Rolling Update

    Zombies now glitch through buildings and walls more than ever with the new speed increase. In addition, every zombie hit causes you to bleed. I don't know about you but I don't bleed every time I get hit by a fist or hand IRL.

    Which T-Shirt design would you buy?

    The 2nd and 3rd options. 3rd option "you are" text could be removed or a better font... Mousepad(s) would be cool (link up with SteelSeries, they do custom pads all the time).

    SHORT VERSION --------------------------------------------------------- Purchase Only Community Servers Studio Developed (with community feedback and beta period) Kickstarter (for pre-orders // special edition) ----------------------------------------------------------- Key features for a stand alone game could be ----------------------------------------------------------- - Larger map than Chenerus (camps are too easily found)! - Camps (things of the sort) should not be limited to where they can be placed. - Inability to get "off map" (invisible wall at edges of map to make it impossible to get off map). - Players should be able to band together and create parties. - Parties should be able to capture and control towns after ALL zombies have been eliminated from the town and various points (objectives) in the town have been secured by party members. - Controlling a town should give benefit to those in the town. And other survivors may seek refuge in said towns. - Vehicles / Camps may have keys required to use/access them?
