I'm sorry, but I'm not seeing the invincible zombies im hearing about
lavolpe replied to billyangstadt's topic in General Discussion
My problem with them mainly occurs because of my bad internet, we continuously have 5-10% packet loss due to an old modem (and that can't be fixed right now even though I would love to.). And due to this the Zombies are just jumping around, stealth only works sometimes when the Zombies are actually where they are on server side. Other times they'll be 200m away and aggro, and you only actually see them when they click too and have already bashed the shite out of you, or when they're yo-yo-ing when they get 10m away and still hitting you. Running away also isn't really an option half the time because of desync the zombies just continuously teleport beside you no matter how far you run. I've tested melee weapons but with sporadic results occasionally killing in 2 hits to the head others 14 to whenever I give up. I have 1k hours and I've played on the same modem and with the same packet loss for the whole time, its only gotten bad with the last two patches, the one before just bouncing me around occasionally but this one just bouncing me and the zombies nearly constantly. And no I don't want the devs to turn the Zeds back to easy mode, and I don't want them to fix the random loot, I only want them to fix the fact that if I'm lagging the tiniest bit I don't want the game to be unplayable. -
Where do you all go to get your sweet loots?
lavolpe replied to The Aquatic Land Walrus's topic in General Discussion
Persistant off server, recently restarted, at weird times (like 3am-8am), usually go in with a partner on the 3-15 player servers, that way we loot quicker and usually we spread so if someone runs into someone else we can flank and kill them for the loot they've already taken from the area (Unless they're cool, then we'll ask which way they've come from and which way they're going, and if they combat log we'll go in there and just kill them). Depending on where we spawn depends on where we start. If we spawn in North East coast (Berez, Svet, Novo) we go to Cernaya Polana loot up on the necessaries then go: NE Airfield, Kras, Gorka, Stary for food/water/clothes/meds, Dichina Mil Base, then either NW Airfield or straight to Green Mountain, Zeleno, Pavlovo Mil Base, Balota, then either straight into the PVP in Cherno or meet up with everyone else and spread the loot to the gang because we're a family and have to feed each other's need to kill with bullets. If we spawn South West Coast we make sure its a pretty low pop server (1-6 players), loot for necessaries in Electro/Cherno then go the opposite way from the one above and just skip out on: NE Airfield, Kras, Gorka and that general side of the map. You can also (if your not against it) change servers when you get to one side then go back, or if you find a person and you know which way they came from change servers and keep going. If your after choppers green mountain, Dichina base and NW airfield are good spots to look. Check ALL THE BARRACKS, especially under the beds and on top of the blue lockers, lots of people miss those spots. (Depending on the update and if they're working) Tents are really good for ammo. The most important tip for looting though when you're on low pop servers is "YOU ARE DEFINITELY NOT THE ONLY ONE THERE ON A LOOT RUN." the chances of those other people on, doing/going to the same places as you is extremely high. (Its either their loot running as well, or they're new and are just running around picking up painkiller and bleach in some random town.) This is the way myself and everyone who we've taught or played with have done it, it works well for us. You could also get a shotty and go into a high pop server in cherno and blast some faces off. -
The first "group" I rolled with was 2 of my real life friends, they bought me all the games necessary for the Mod and all they asked of me was to play counter-sniper, I got all my stuff given to me and a free ride from the coast. I got to kill people once every blue moon and I couldn't go out and doing anything without them because as soon as I opened anything ARMA related they'd just spam and join me. So, one would imagine not to fun. (This is the only long story don't worry) After a long gap, I got SA and I was joined by my lovely group of competitive Team Fortress 2 friends. They were good while they lasted. They preferred either run or playing friendly BUT they all didn't seem fond of the game because of all the running and bugs, they died in stupid ways which left only me and one other playing. Then that one other shot a fully kitted guy in beres and then a group of 10+ fully kitted guys came down from the hill seeking revenge he died in a puff of bullets (The Tf2 group wasn't a very smart group of people). I just sat in the top of the pub as silent as possible while watching them all run around, then one of them happened to decide to clear upstairs (my reaction at this time was ;-; that face exactly) I got popped in the neck by an FNX shot and went unco (I missed the guys head by a mm). Then by the powers of having boobs, the sentence "GG, well played." Left my mic and then I got the question of "Do you want me to revive you?" with my friend having left me at that time I took him up on that offer. Meet group three. My experiences with group 3 were amazing, barging into places watching the lead three guys of the group take out ANY if not all the threats in two secs. We all laughed, and we made lots of friends. I played 600+ hours with this group so many memorable things like "IF YOU DON'T COME OUT OF THERE, I WILL COME UP AND DRAG YOU OUT BY YOUR PUBES" and one of their drunk killing sprees of 15 people straight from the top of appartments in Beres. We killed a lot of the time but we always made it an "interesting" experience when we did. We got hunted by hackers on multiple occassions. And when we rolled clan tags, every full server would magically become deserted after a couple of kills. But it didn't last, shit started going south when 500+ of my hours were spent with a sir named Preacher and he wanted to leave the clan and the clan thought it was because of me. But we split from them taking all those loyal to Preacher away (so like 80% of the clan.) We tried making our own clan but everyone got busy with different schedules. So we joined another group, not going to name them, because the time with them was horrible, Preach and myself would go do PVP and take the few of them that wanted to with us (PVP clan, with loose mil co-ordination my butt). The group was big, but nearly all of them just fapped in the forest and fished, which left us outcasts and no one would even consider playing with us. So we left. The next group we joined was a small starting up clan, they didn't have many members, and we got along well with the admin. Then the group growed because of all of us joining and making a name for the clan, to say we taught them how to play is an understatement. And then stuff started going bad when he put badmins in the ts. I was getting abused by one of the squeakers in group on in-game, so I yelled at him in the ts coms and ended up getting yelled at and accused of making up that fact that he was doing it by one of them. The admin wasn't there and when I told him about it he said I should of just shot the kid in the face and and badmin for being a dick. We left soon after though because our other friends along with us weren't getting along with them. Which leds us to now. We've made a clan called [soGo], we have 5 main admins, and have 4-7 mods, all of us get along since we've been playing together for 900+ hours. We're currently taking a break from the clan though because Preach and myself have moved and are setting up to move again. And Preach is the face of our clan along with one of our other guys Citrus, but you can't have one without the other. We have exciting adventures, we PVP a lot. Our favourite hobby is hand-cuffing people who have screwed up and pushing them onto a fire, preferrably on full servers in the main street of Cherno. I hope that this one lasts, finding a clan to suit our large group of friends is hard-work. But over-all, you will always get good and bad experiences with clans, and even if you find a good clan you may not like one or two of the members in it, but if you make loyal friends and build up that group you'll probably either make a clan of your own or at least have the group that you wanna play with you just a click away.

Something for the ladies... the Pink Derringer exists!
lavolpe replied to Death By Crowbar's topic in General Discussion
Tapped a fully kitted guy the day after I found my Pinky. Straight in the head. It was beautiful. -
You can think whatever you want dude. But I know our group, they have not duped. We have taken from their bodies after we've killed them, but we have not taken from their nests, and we have gotten rid of at least 2 of their small nests. But now since the nests are so big and contain so much loot and they add to it each and everyday, it is impossible for our group to do what you are suggesting. We hide the bodies when possible after we are done taking what we need (resupplies of ammo and grenades to hand out amoungst the group for fun and resupplying our fresh spawns with a mixture of their's and the duper's unruined gear) but since you can only hide bodies when they are on grass, it is hard to get rid of all the gear while being in a PvP hot zone. The POINT of this Thread was to alert people that the duping has gotten OUT OF HAND, that A LOT of people now have duped M4s/grenades/etc. And that dupers and players that are not like you are running around with a lot of stuff which is not spawned legitimately to the game and that this is an increasing thing. But lets face it, if your group was pinned in a building and you KNEW there was a duped set of gear lying on the ground, you would pick that up and shot the people, even if it was duped.

You try PvP-ing against everyone who is duping. ALL of our stuff is off player kills, and all the PvP based players are currently dupers. Australia = small gaming community, dupers start to get a foot hold, dupers explode in numbers, everyone gets dupers gear. Go PvP in Cherno or Elektro, be fresh/partially geared have a buddy kill them and then not pick up all the gear that was on the guy. Especially when they have rare shit which you haven't seen for ages, or high caps full of grenades. Grenades = Fun. Fun = Game. Dupers = Idiots who are too lazy to play the game fully. We're against duping, but if we kill the idiots and take their stuff, that means that we at least deserve the gear.

Not to mention the M4s there (the one in my inventory and then one in my friends hands in the top left) and all those 60 mags (there's more in the upper parts of my inventory), and the ammo box (I actually got two off of these guys, ones just in a protector case.) There was also a group the day before, exact same M4s, exact same backpack lay out, ammo boxes with protector cases, with grenades, ammo boxes and etc etc etc, all in high caps, in high caps, in high caps, in high caps. (Don't worry though guys, duping with protector cases still doesn't work and neither does duping with high caps, thank-god.) [Also, if you look REALLY hard, in the bottom right corner you can see the sexy Preach]
